  • os melhores dos melhores...a paz....maravilhosa...

  • this song has 11 minutes......

  • from which album is this?

  • Not bad, almost 'Autumn Leaves For the Budding Nihilist'...

  • el tema de por si ya es exelente, los solos una maravilla,la melodia dolorosamente bella

  • Just...music.

  • those are not autumn leaves

  • Crazy how a song can transport you to a different place and time. Bagfull of candy at Halloween. Thanksgiving dinner at Moms. Cool weather. Dogs running along as we bicycled down the road. Waffles and bacon in the morning. Football games on the weekend. And autumn leaves.

  • @swanson6666 great picture in my mind..those were my thanksgivings with my kids..they are on their own now..miss those days.. tough to recapture. and Autumn Leaves...drift by my window..life passes us by..savor every moment of it..for sure..

  • the way the solos are handed to each other says we are a band not just members of a band

  • pure dopeness.....

  • I'm so thrilled by this one... found it fortunately by accident...what a rhythm and melody... an other version of this great song...an other very BEAUTIFUL one!!!!.AWESOME*****

  • I'm so thrilled and excited now i found this GORGEOUS piece BY ACCIDENT...

    A VERSION WITHOUT WORDS...!!!*****

  • maravilloso¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Now that is the reason everyone keeps trying to play! Sometimes you get lucky and everything gels and divine magic is created,

  • @jbetleydc Maybe a key is playing deep into the music and not worrying about the money, or being the "star" Just getting honest and as far into it as you can go and having others around who dig that and do that with you.

    Maybe...

  • @thestoryplease your comment has just made my day...

  • This has to be one of the best versions I have ever heard. That solo by Adderley sends shivers.x

  • what a video, fuck

  • Just Listen to Music, cause that's what it is all about. Close ur eyes and breath deeply,

    Thank you for Listening.

  • That Sax solo is just undescribable

  • f*ck the video! Tnx God the interpretation is so great, that for the first few minutes, I couldn't even notice it!

  • i think most instruments are played partly with one finger....

  • What an absolutely superb version of Autumn Leaves :) Best I've heard I reckon - brilliant.

  • The song is from the LP "Somethin Else" it's a Cannonball date and it was recorded almost a whole year before Kind Of Blue.

  • i wannnaa makin' love

  • this video is bloody creepy.

  • lol! The last time I was watching it I could see cowboys in this video! It's really creepy. But who cares, don't you love the music? I've started to like this video too. Once it gets into you, it seems so smooth, so harmonious...

  • or just stupid!!!

  • the video is awful. thank you for the music, but stil...

  • hahahahahaha ;)

  • Video: hmmm...

    Music: Whaaahhow!

    Out of this world!

  • Don't know what the hell the video has to do with the audio. Cannonball was one of the greatest and was fortunate enough to attend one of his birthday parties at Capitol recording studios

  • really? that's so awesome - what kind of a partier was he if you don't mind me asking??

  • I cant believe you forgot to mention the piano player... and even cut his part. It is the best pianosolo ever played, partly with one finger, by Hank Jones.

  • the lp's name is kind of blue, it rocks

  • @rusoope It isn't on Kind of Blue (I've got that one and played over and over). I mention just to help anyone looking for it.

  • One of finest interpretations of Kosma's immortal tune, and I've heard quite a lot. Great clip, too. Thx.

Feel free to drop by my jazz blog, recently praised by the great Marc Myers of JazzWax. For link see my profile.

    See you around & Greets,

    Bruno "Chetman" Leicht

  • F-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c-o! What a beautiful interpretation of Kosma's immortal song. Thx a bunch.

Feel free to check out my swing blog, if you like -- for link see my profile.

    Cheers,

    Brew "AllSmiles" Leicht

  • Yo i cant stop listening to cannonball's solo

  • Autumn Leaves is so much better with guitar for the head. (no disrespect to Davis and Adderly here.) RIP

  • Cannonball

  • thats not coltrane dude.

    its adderly

  • Can someone clarify who plays the sax? Cannonball or Coltrane? Though it definitely sounds like Coltrane to me.

  • Cannonball!

  • Definitely Cannonball. For one thing, it's an alto, not tenor, sax. For another, it sounds like pretty much every other great Cannonball solo.

Miles found all the great notes, didn't he?

  • it's cannonball for sure. This exact version can be found on Somethin' Else album (by cannonball)

  • ...........

Listen to more coltrane, it doesn't like coltrane at all.

    Its Cannonball.

  • oh come on dude, that can't be coltrane, just have a listen to him!

  • cool work

  • You have cut the intro!!! How could you do that? blasphemy!

  • Agh!! Nearly died missing the intro! But thanks for posting it...

  • Dude, c'mon, what the hell, I'm stoned and I love Miles!

  • same here man

  • haha yes sir!

  • that was beautiful two very talented musicians who have perfected there craft its amazing

  • two!? I also can also hear a fantastic hank jones, sam jones and art blakey, man! Without that amazing intro and comping it wouldn't be the same...

  • It's from the magnificent Somethin' Else by Cannonball Adderley and various other artists (including Miles Davis and Hank Jones!)

  • Cannonball's playin is superb.

  • Something Else....Julius (Cannonball) Adderley and Miles....great, great sound

  • What album is this from? And has anyone transcribed the alto solo at all and had it published?

  • It's from cannonball adderley's "something else"...

  • eez beautiful

  • sax coming in is on a semi halfbeat i think

  • Thats Cool

  • Semplicemente sublime.

  • check out my channel for some jazz sax videos and tell me what you think

  • This is by Miles and Coltrane instead of Cannonball I believe.

  • No that's definitely an alto sax and it sounds like Cannonbal to my ears.

  • Sounds like a tenor to me. However, it´s a great song and a great recording.

  • no,this is cannonball and miles davis.the one with joh coltrane is so what dude.great song, great musicians, nice vid ! vive le jazz

  • This IS Cannonball.

Track 01 Somethin' Else with Miles Davis.

  • No, it's Cannonball and Miles from the Blue Note recording "Somethin' Else".

  • this very nice but please listen the way Jose Pepe Vera play this beautyfull song and leaves your comments.all are welcome thanks.

  • whose the pianist?

  • Hank Jones

  • this song sucks.....is wat a person would say if they had bad taste in music ;)

  • ha..I was already to click "thumbs down"..luckily I read the rest of your comment before I did! :P

  • LMAO xD

  • I've listened to this over and over again, thanks over and over again!

  • Face au génie : chapeau bas messieurs ...

  • enfin un confrère français ^^

  • What a great song,thx for upload.

    I love your camera work,too.

If you have Chameleon by Cannonball, please let us listen.

    It is funky song.

  • woah that's good jazz!

  • How true, especially coming from a jazz lover!

  • hahaha

  • It's Fine!

  • no words, amazing

  • what album?

  • "Somethin' Else"

One of the five greatest jazz albums ever.

  • "Something Else" by Cannonball Adderley

  • what are the other four

  • maravilloso¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Absolutly one of the best jazz recordings ever. Grate bass intro. Is that Chambers holding down the bottom? Too bad this is an edited version of this alltime classic. I also love the Gene Ammons/ Sonny Stitt interpitation of this tune. It just doesn't get any better than Cannonball & Miles

  • It's Sam Jones on bass. (And Hank Jones, piano.)

  • Miles, muted and at his most lyrical best. Cannonball, of course, reaches inside and tugs at your heartstrings. What magic!

  • I was just imagining Miles meeting Cannonball on a street corner, asking him if he could handle a solo on Autumn Leaves. C. says "What time you want me at the studio?"

What a solo. Every now and then you get that shaft of light from heaven. Miles also, the understated genius.

  • Thanks for this! My All Time favourite!

    Tina

  • my pleasure

  • Best jazz song ever. The only one Miles Davis.!!!

  • Best jazz song ever. The only one Miles Davis.!!!

  • Best jazz song ever.

  • great song.

a group called Pe'z did a cover of this song but they sped it up, and added some of their own stuff to it...sounded awesome.

  • is this the actual video for this track? i didnt know these guys made videos

  • no it isnt

  • i can't access this vid. it says "We're sorry this video is no longer available."

  • please check your connection... sometimes i get that message when when my internet is slow...

  • thanx, its working now.

  • Art Blakey master of time. +++

  • no longer availabkle

  • wonderful!

is could be the very best performance ever of this song.

miles and cannonball compliment each other perfectly.

  • This is the beauty of Youtube...Agree or disagrees with the video or the music, the ability to see some of the greatest jazz legends play at will is a true gift that many before never had the opportunity and luxury to see and learn from the best musicians in the world.

  • This isn't nearly just as good as Timbaland and JT doing What comes around!

  • WTF are you comparing this masterpiece with that trash... you ignorant, Shame on you!!!

  • Where did that calm go,what this musicians are playing with?Almost everything is about show business in these days!I want those time back.I know it's impossible, but I try hard.Musician.

  • M.O. I know you have a good taste in music so.. This is for You...Happy b day comming up soon.. take care.

  • does anyone have notes fot this??????

  • You have to transcribe it if you really want to learn. Don't be like the looser who expects others to do the jobs...

  • Oh, wait a second where did you learn almost all your music? Tablatures that you never wrote. So Shut the fuck up. Talk about a hypocrite.

  • Most real or fake books would have the music.

  • yep, the two flappy things on the side of your head

  • this is beautiful. i wish music was like this still. gotta love the instrumentals of jazz back in the day. i dont need words in my music. this shit is too fly for fumans to understand. you gotta be alien to understand this shit!!!!!!!!!

  • i agree completely this is real music, real artists don't need mixers or dancing

  • that is not true

we need creative people on each instument

  • This isn't nearly as good as What comes around goes around by Timbalake and JT!

  • I recognize this as the opening track on "Something Else" issued under Adderley's name (I recognize Mile's statement of the head right down to the microtone).

But why is the intro missing? Did you edit it off? Or is this track from a different release where the intro was removed?

    I love that weird intro!

  • i guess the intro was missing in this release...

  • Hmmm, that's interesting. Could I ask...what is the name of the "album" you got this from?

I have both the older CD and the new "Rudy Van Gelder" remaster of Somethin' Else and both of them have the intro.

  • well, I got this from a collection... Maybe it was ripped and edited...

  • It´s not just the intro that´s missing, Miles

solo is 16 bars short, then Hank Jones´s beautiful solo then melody taken by Miles and

finished by Hank playing rubato and then

intro vamp again w. Hank and Miles ad libing

    over it...

  • Right !

  • thanks for asking i was wondering about the same thing... too bad it's missing, it really puts up the whole atmosphere of the song... and of the whole cd in the same way.

  • Did it occur to you that they simply counted it in?

  • this is awesome, i wish the sound quality of the recording was a little better, though...

  • better check your speakers. The sound quality on this vid is better than 90% of the jazz vids on the Tube.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!best music ever !!!!!!altsax is awesome!

  • Best video ever!

  • Perfect, contemplative.

  • This song is simply a magic trick to me. The way these guys swing in particular is just amazing. Cannonball is killer on the alto, absolutely brilliant. The video is very strange though...

  • you should try the louis armstrong version; he does a more upbeat version.

this one is my favourite tho because it makes me sink in my seat and forget all worries

  • cannonball nice sound
