I am currently looking up ways to trap a cat because this feral cat gave birth to siamese kittens, they are so beautiful and they deserve better than her fate. We feed the mommy and the big black daddy tom cat, they are very wild and the guy is always beat up but the kittens are only two to three months old right now so hopefully i can get them and adopt them out.

Our feral cat will not be "spayed and released". It has already killed dozens of birds and squirrels on our property alone. The SPCA doesn't want it, so it will be going off to meet its maker. Don't worry - it'll be quick end, but there is NO way that cat will be released to resume its orgy of death.

Other than that take em to a farm where he can run free and live in the wild and do what he wants but still has a "home". If you cant handle it, you should find him a home where someone can.

I understand your frustration but the problem with your plan is that feral cats live in colonies. They keep track of their numbers. When numbers start to decline, female cats in your neighborhood actually will have more kittens! The spca did a very in depth study which proved that euthanizing feral cats drastically increases the number of feral cats- this is why we now have the spay release program- it slowly downsizes cat colonies.

Because of the overabundance of PEOPLE damage is massive. I have a feral colony the population of which has DECREASED since I trapped and fixed them all 4 years ago. For the past 4 years there has been an abundance of birds and wildlife along with the cats until a couple of months ago when a construction company cut down the last two remaining trees. My point was the all birds vanished after a construction company cut down all the trees. Before that there were hundreds of birds. Three aging, sterilized cats didn't cause the birds to vanish. Destruction of the environment by people did. If it's destruction of the environment and bird-life you're concerned about it's not cats you should be killing. I'm not glad the birds have disappeared. I'm saddened by it.

Please do NOT drop them off in the "farmland" and think they're "going to be OK". It's definitely NOT OK for these feral cats to run around my farm. They've become very territorial, bother my dogs when I let them outside to do their business, and use my front yard as a litter box. How many times to I have to reiterate to people that it is NOT OK to drop off animals of any kind "out in the country"?!! It wasn't until I used a .22 that I was finally able to be rid of these destructive monsters. Use a large-aperture scope with an illuminated reticle for use in low-light conditions when they are most active. Also outfit it with a laser-sight for when it's too dark for even the scope. This ensures a humane kill. I've not wasted even 1bullet.

We use a possum trap. They are about the same size animals. I've never seen a cats tail caught in the door of one, & I've never see a trap empty after it's been tripped.

Wrap the cage in a tarpaulin. Leave a lil gap in one corner & push the gap up against the exhaust pipe of your car. Wait 10 to 20 mins. Problem solved.

Hey thanks for the newspaper idea. I put a rabbit water bottle on my trap, with a little sugar in it. Cats , possums, and sometimes racoons will eat 3-5 week old balogna like its candy. This one eats my balogna sometimes. It uses its butt or tail to block the door and swipes the meat.
