This is my favorite Sci Fi film of all time. Watched it dozens of times since I was a kid in the 70's and I have been anxiously awaiting the remake. Except for the obvious recommendation from others to change the ship to a saucer, I loved it! I actually got goosebumps, which speaks more than words! Excellent job!
Interesting, however has anyone informed you on the spelling of Walter PIDGEON not PIGEON? Just asking ;) ... I do applaud your effort though. If you were looking for more suitable music scoring check soundcloud + c o m /bob-tarmac
Its actually a lot more closer to closing credits to Star Trek reboot (which in turn are reminiscent of Fireball XL5) than the Forbidden Planet opener
Great job! The softer audio of the original narrative with the rising thunderous music in the background - nice touch. The cosmic bodies looked very first class. I can easily imagine this as an opening credit list on the big screen. You must do this professionally.
Sounds like you know the ship is out of place though, any chance of a re-do with a saucer-shaped cruiser? You got to be thinking about doing it, as good as you did with all the other artwork, please... I'm begging you :-)
@talltomtom121 Maybe, if I can find the time. Glad you like it though! If you are really interested, then subscribe. I have a sci fi short I am working on at the mo, inspired by films like forbidden planet.
Love the transitions from credit to credit- The space scenes are well done, but....
The ship is unnecessary- The C57D was a saucer. Don't reinvent the wheel- everyone loves that ship! Don't change what works! Plus even if you do, it needed more than clean hull plating. For this you need a 3D program like Maya to give it the extra something-something....Great look and feel to it though!
@jimp1102 I agree. I was just going to modernise the flying saucer, but it was pretty hard to make it look good within the time frame I had. I was looking at district 9 for information. This was made in Maya :)
Pretty cool, but I don't know what that ship is supposed to be. It can't land with those aerodynamics, and there's no reason for the fins and wings if it doesn't land.
@debiejames Yeah I totally agree. I really hate it when films do those two things exactly, but for some reason I went and made this anyway :S Hindsight would be more useful if it came before making decisions :)

Are you aware that you misspelled the names of two cast members?
Which ones are an exercise for you to find but they're MAJOR ones.

Nice, job, but why ddi you change the ship from being a classic saucer to a rocketship?

Impressive but don't change the ship. Everyone loves the original saucer shape. However a re-imagining of the saucer could add extra detailing etc.

;) ... oh yeah, Nielsen not Neilson ... sorry

Not bad redo I like the more modern feel of it but it could use the classic saucer type ship instead.

Not bad, however the C-57-D is supposed to be shaped like a saucer. Other than that, I'm impressed.

Epic music intro, but the ship looks a little to thin to be able to land on a planet.

Really nice re-imagining of the opening credits, good work. Watch your proofreading though, you spelled a lot of the names wrong.

Grotesque.
Disgusting GenX bastardization of the incomparable orginal.
Stop doing this.
Whoever you are, you don't measure up to the MGM team of 1955.
The retarded rocket alone is enough to completely discredit the project.

@Kramnosnits It's not real. Relax.

This is possible, MGM sold the right to do it in 2007 and said it might take awhile to make.
