I watched a documentary on Sigur Ros yesterday, and they said that they don't even really sing in Icelandic, but rather make up sounds that they think work with the piece. The vocalist called it "bullshit" :P
So, I guess you must be able to speak Icelandic, do they make up words for all their music? Or just some of it?
I know all the corner permutation cases (There are only 8, and some are very similar). I know a few useful cases for edge permutation and where/when to apply them, I could be much, much faster at edges though. Getting the layers square and edge permutation are my two slowest steps, but I'm working on them :)
Practice. Try to figure out some of optimal cases for yourself. I still use the edge grouping method most of the time. I just do it fast cause I'm used to a lot of the cases. If you are able to find a list for optimal algs for every single case... you'd be looking at 90 algs I think.
Once you get past first step (getting the layers square) its a pretty standard cubic puzzle, with some limitations and some new possibilities. Give my tutorial a quick look and see what you think. It's a fun puzzle, and really throws off non-cubers.
Are you still using the same method as in your tutorial?

Whoa Icelandic music. I lived there for 2 years :-)

It's very mellow and ambient. I really enjoy it :)
Never been to Iceland though...

Do you listen to any intrumental ambient, like explosions in the sky, helios, I'm not a gun, or port blue? I think you'd like them :-)
Aaalxndr 2 years ago
I like Explosions In The Sky. Haven't heard the others but I just wrote them down on a sticky. Do you know Phosphorescence?
elimescube 2 years ago
no. haha had to write them down to look up when I get home from school.

haha wickid dood. i lived there when i was like 6-7, and I lived on an american base, so sorry no I don't speak it.
Phosphorescence is amazing dude. I like how their lyrics are meaningful.
Did you check out any of those bands?
Aaalxndr 2 years ago
Oh, oh well. I am yet to give them a good listen, but like I said, I have a stickey with all the names on it. Glad you like Phosphorescence :)
elimescube 2 years ago
Oh god, I fail! It's totally 'Phosphorescent' not 'Phosphorescence'. Sorry.

Insanely fast.

do you know where i can get the algorithims for those cases?

how do you get faster at solving the corners and edges?
really nice average btw.

youre such a square 1 fiend! :)

You should be too! You're my biggest fan!

I like this angle :P
It shows us some of your wonderful puzzles~!
Plus, you can fit the timer in, so its much easier then showing us the timer each time.

how can i get faster at making the layers square?
its my slowest step and its realy dragging down my times.
i dont really like getting it into the edges-bunched-up-together step and then fixing it.
is there a faster way?
btw. i dont mind learning tons of algorithms

all right thanks.
is it a good idea to memorize a few of the algorithms for the shapes and then try to get the puzzle to that particular shape?
instead of knowing just one of the shapes?
if so, what site has some good algs for making layers square?
theWestonian 2 years ago
You'll notice I said "I think". I don't know of any sites with a compilation of such algorithms.

Nice Average! :)

I'm curious to start square 1 solving.
Is it much more difficult than the other cubic puzzles ?
Great Solves, you have pace.
Congrats
