When I see JGW, I almost thought that he was Charlie Wilson in his early days...lol!! This guy's music is ageless and full of soul.

When I saw JGW live, must have been around the time this show was recorded, I noticed that the keyboard player was blind and doubled Johnny on vocals. The similarity of the voices was astonishing... so, maybe that's why some of you think it is not Johnny... man, how sad he's passed away.

I think I met Johnny in Monterrey CA in the mid 90's. He was playing at a small bar. Don't remember much about the music but I do remember that he was playing an accordion. Can anyone confirm this for me??????

It wasn't. It was SWR (german TV) in Baden-Baden, Germany. Live, but in a TV-Studio. So, not too good live-atmosphere.

Well you all got me curious now. Because he sort of doesn't look him himself in this video, unless he got his teeth fixed, etc. But it sounds like him. There was a time when people posing as artists saying they were someone else and getting jobs. I can't say on this for sure. But if this is an Imposter, he is a pretty damb good one. Also if This isn't Johnny, This guy can't get away with saying he's Johnny anymore. An't that a bitch! ha ha!

I'll second that.....Uniquely, Johnny Guitar Watson pulled it all together - Blues, Soul, Jazz and Funk, and this it with taste, humour and charisma - not to mention musicianship. One of the most under-rated people in popular music. Ibae Johnny Guitar Watson, RIP. You are missed.

There are those who may not know that Johnny had recorded some great blues and jazz albums, before he hit pay dirt in soul and funk. Go back and put your ear to some of his early recordings. I do love this song. Johnny's music was always tight and his guitar playing was impecable. That means the man had capital S.O.U.L.
