Joni Mitchell's version is in my top 5-10 favorite songs of all-time. I actually gained a lot of respect for Mandy Moore when she released this song because (1) it proved she had a clue about what real music is and (2) I think she did an excellent job with this cover. The way I see it, with her lower vocal register and differences in arrangement, she made the song her own while paying proper homage to Joni. Don't know what Joni thinks of the song, but I have to think she'd approve.
