doesnt change the fact that touch screen everything sucks big balls when it comes to true first person shooter games. There are just too many functions requiring buttons of which the iphone is void of. Look how custom designed an xbox or ps3 controller is to an average human hand... True first person gaming is reserved for Consoles and Computers. The latter being harder to control due to keyboard and mouse, but looking and performing much better overall. And you can always buy a PC controller. .

My last Windows Mobile was the HTC Touch, pre that the HTC S710, pre that was the WM SP3i & my first smartphone was the original WM Smartphone. I can't see this running well at all, but then again it isn't even HD and probably has most graphics options extremely low. I can see the Evo doing it (cuz my dad's pre can run wii graphics w/ a 500 mhz processor and the Evo has 1 ghz), but I don't know the iTouch's specs.

the iPod touch 8gb has the same hardware as the 2nd gen iPod touch, except with a new bootrom, the 32gb and 64gb are the ones with the powercortex arm8 CPU (or a similar CPU) and some sort of updated gpu that is used on the ps3 (and also OpenGL Es 2.0) so... iPod touch 3rd gen is the one with boosted CPU performance, gpu performance, increased ram and.. the cool stuff

i think epic ported it just for a challenge i dont think they plan on doing anything with it , and there would be no point in porting unreal engine 3 to the wii, when it would be easier just to use unreal engine 2 which the wii would be more suited for running, unreal engine prides itself on graphics more than art style whereas most wii games have to rely on art style because they cant compete with the other consoles graphics

There's already an unnamed group porting UE3 to the Wii, the engine is incredibly scalable (Doesn't look it seeing at how good the graphics are), if Epic were to port it to the Wii it would have been done by now, but the Wii's limitations make it undesirable to build UE3 games on

UE2.5 is making a small comeback in the modding community though, it is brilliant for the Wii already and some people describe UE3 as UE2 with a higher polycount (Not true, but all things done in UE3 can be done in UE2)

UE 2.5 is still used in major titles even on 360 and ps3 , splinter cell conviction uses it allthough it is heavily modified by ubisofts team , its still a good engine and cheaper than licensing ue 3 :)

And yes Bioshock 1&2 use an engine based on UE2.5 too, but it has many from UE3. You can just optimize it for the specific platform, and since EPIC own all rights there's no reason to use outdated tech.

If the UE3 engine is now compatible with the iPhone that means users can now, with 100 euro license UDK, create PC console and now iPhone games. 3D Gaming on iPhone is possibly the greatest invention ever.

Now that Apple can see what is happening here, maybe for the next iPhone release they will upgrade the technology to compensate that.

ya but remember the resolution is SMALLER than an 860x600 and it really cant compare to the detail of a PC. I know where your coming from, but that's why we have portable gaming consoles. The textures are huge and un detailed, there is almost no physics except jumping and jt's probably running below 30fps. And it's not like unreal engine 3 is demanding to begin with -_-.
