That is a great song, and this message is only seen by those who aren't blind. I agree with that last part the best, where the people were shooting the F*ck that took their money! We need more of that kind of action, but who am I to talk, I'm sure not going to give up my freedom for trying to defend it! doesn't make sense right! I swear though, if I were one of those billionaires I would make a difference with my money and power!
I feel honored to have seen this before it hit the media and from a very special cow hide computer chair!!! THIS ROCKS!!!!!! I wish I could buy it on iTunes and get it on my iPod. Mr. Dunn, thanks for the inspiration! One day I hope to make music that makes an impact as you have!
Absolutely love this video. Once again Ronnie has found a unique way to voice his opinion. He hasn't forgotten where he came from and who his folks are! God bless him!
This a country that's in need of a reform ............. and it's not from a politician during a campaign. .......... there's nothin' wrong with making money! just not from pissing on the working mans back and telling him it's raining. Being a working man is not dictated by his bank account either........ there are honest hardworking wealthy folks ....... not like the likes of Bernie and so many others. Good job on the song ..... I love it! and it's unfortunately too true.
Red Hot Chili Peppers meets Jimi meets Merle with the Jurassic 5 tied to the Everyman sensibility of Woody Guthrie! Love the gritty fuzzed lead guitar line- no other way to describe except k#*%a**! The message is spot-on and relevant to anyone that cares about this country, regardless of which side of the political line you stand ... another way to protest the way things have been is to be supportive and positive of those that are trying to effect change
all I can say is WOW!!! Brooks and Dunn have worked for every penny they have. They know what it's like to earn it the American Way. Great song, hope its on the next cd!
No matter how hard times get, we are Americans. We built this place with hard work and sweat.
Somewhere, along the way some people lost track of that.
"Good intent gave way to greed".
The positive message in the song is that we built it and we can get through what is happening as long as we stick together.
It's going to take hard, honest work. Many Americans have lost sight of what that means. It's not about just having a job. It's about working hard at however much or little we have.
How perfect that a multi-millionaire who has made his living from the entertainment industry is singing about how the common man needs to roll up his sleeves and work to earn a living.
He sings that he doesnt have money in the stock market? Yeah, right Brooks & Dunn are one of Forbes top grossing country acts - have been for years - and I guess ol Ronnie just has those millions just stuffed in Mason jars in the back yard.
So, because someone is a millionaire, that means they didn't work hard? The money wasn't handed to them and it's not exactly easy to become a top selling music act. You try it. Who says they don't still get their hands dirty? People like Kiefer Sutherland and Dennis Quaid still own farms and do all their own work. I'm much more liberal than democrat but I can't stand when either side gets righteous. Rich ppl hate poor ppl for being poor and poor ppl hate rich ppl for being rich. it's sick
how cool that any American these days wealthy or not ,steps up and calls it like it is. I hear that this Dunn guy grew up poor. His father was a truck driver, oilf field hand... mother worked as a bank teller, lived in trailer parks. I dig this cat !!!
If you have ever shaken hands with Ronnie Dunn you would not ask if he rolls up his sleeves and works with his hands. He remembers his fans and his loyal to his many employees who work to hard to keep him and Kix on the road.
You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.
Politicians have sold America out. Globilization is taking American jobs and sending them elsewhere. Look at America's jobless rate ! It's climbing daily. At the end of the day, WHAT is driving America's economy ? Auto industry....."makin' pick up trucks in Mexico" ? Manufacturing.....outsourced ? Technology .....China / India. Pharmaceuticals......China. Oil.....Middle East, Africa, Russia, Canada . Our government is not going to save us ! RATTLER
