  • do u think a capital Q and a capital K put together look like a ninja if u look at it side ways. the Q is the head and the K is the legs and arms!!?? QK

  • this is an amazing movie i learned from that how to do kong ty!

  • Everytime i try a monkey or a kong im scared of clipping my feet and landing my face i bet many people have had that problem so if guys have any tips i'd be very happy!!

  • I can just about do very vault EXCEPT kong and dash, they just scare me if I faceplant my face!! Its like after ur over the object my head is like aimed at the ground!!

  • nice video :D

  • Tnx man ur blog helps! :D

  • I never understood how to dive. Do you just lean over so you're parallel with the ground and bring your legs up as much as you can?

  • if you were to kong vault off of somethin 5 ft long where do u put your hands, and how do u get across without slowing down

  • I cant find a single fuckin place to practice this, there is no picnic tables near my house or anything like it :(

  • thank, this really helped

  • SONG?

  • chido lido

  • what song is this?

  • @muizzizz Its Nice E By Duncan Beattie

  • I Once caught my feet on the bar I did this on.So now I have a bigger fear to do these then i did.

  • @StrikingRhinoceros dude i used to freak out with bars too, just do the sitting two foot stretch, and sit ups it'll help you tuck better, also try to get your back as horizontal as possible

  • @dvg88 Ty dude.

  • @dvg88 You should of told me this before i tried one on a wall, nearly broke my shin (which is swolen and brused, luckily i drink milk) and grazed my knee.I dont blame you.I'll practice on my sofa more and do wat u sad:D

  • What order should you learn all of your tutorials? PLEASE RESPOND!

  • it's an awesome tutorial.. I just couldn't help but think that.. people are gonna put their food (or plates) on that table.. lol.

maybe people say it's bad advice.. but I learnt from it.

  • This is the best video

  • learning the kong was a bitch but i found that standing in an open area and keep diving to your hands and pushing yourself back to your feet helps increase your confidence and arm strength. that way you can dive farther and higher, try it it helps.

  • I liked the music man

  • i recommend people don't listen to the advice in this video. honestly the majority of what he said was wrong.

  • For beginners, is it essential to learn monkey vaults first, before doing the kong? Just wondering.

  • @MaxSaysRawr if you follow this tutorial step by step it isn't essential he claims :)

  • good tutorial but wtf was up with this gay song.....

  • @torpstar711 i literally fell off the chair laughing... lol

  • Great, but A kong vault is not a move, but a skill, as it takes practice to learn until it develops into a skill. Moves are for chess, skills are for Parkour. And Parkour should be capitalizes, as once again, not chess.

  • @parkourblog

Ive seen all of your vids!!! They're awesome!! Can you give me some advices about how should I start doing parkour? I'm 11 just letting you know

  • for long obstacles, the two foot take-off is inefficient and it also looks kinda stupid, but the split foot take off gives you alot more foward momentum, so it will be easer to clear long obstacles, and seriously, i have never seen anyone do a two, footed take-off in any professional parkour videos

  • must u run to do it?

  • Seriously, I've been seeing this move for a few months now and I thought that would be so damn useful to know how to do, but I delayed doing it. So now I can do all these super badass moves, but I can't do this, one of the most basic parkour moves... damnit, now i must go learn it. Thanks for the video, it explains it better than most.

  • Thank you, you have a new subscriber, Bless you!

  • very nice man

  • i dont get scared of diving but mostly hitting my knees or my feet getting stuck on to the rail then me smashing my face on the cement floor haha but really unique stunt.

  • Nice, please look at mine.

  • where is the music from?

please tell me its so good i need it!!

  • cool thx!

  • I can kong the width of a picnic table easy. I've been able to do it for a year now, BUT, I can't kong the length of the table... If anyone has some tips or advice they would be willing to share, It would be greatly appreciated...thanks!!! =)

  • @ParkourHero123 - just keep trying

  • @ParkourBlog i'm not sure what its called but isnt there a move where you put your hands out like a kong but twice once at the beginning and then at the end, you dive then use your arms to propel you even farther then the second time use your arms to lower yourself...

  • @ParkourHero123 i have a very useful tip for you your gonna have to go very very fast but unlike this guy just placing your hands infront of you. your gonna have to place your hands in back of you like your jumping from a long obstacle to another and your gonna have to jump very high.so 1: run fast. 2:place your hands in back of you. 3: swing your arms forward and dive 4:kong. follow these steps and you,ll get it and good luck

  • @ParkourHero123 look up triple kong

  • @ParkourHero123 dive further and place your hand further on the table not on the beggining.

  • @ParkourHero123

For longer obstacles, use a one foot take off. It gives you more forward momentum to help you clear the obstacle. For higher obstacles, use a two foot take off.

  • @ParkourHero123 easy way to train for the length of the table. start off doing monkey vaults. run up to the table, and monkey vault as far as u can, do it again landing ur feet further every time. eventually u will need to start diving to reach further. for a standard length table u will most likely need to dive 3/4 of the length b4 ur hands touch

  • @ParkourHero123

It's a more dangerous feeling move than most people think. You need a good amount of fast twitch muscle (built by doing Anaerobic fitness, or what gymnasts call plyometrics). Once you've established that, it's more like a dive than a jump, make sure you confidently plant before the table, then you want your body to come across the top completely horizontally, it helps some people to elevate their legs even higher than their shoulders, but be careful, then release as normal.

  • @ParkourHero123 depending on how tall u r place ur hands in the middle , or JUMP hand plant and lunge, when ur kong jumpen over lon things, keep ur head down so your feet naturally come up

  • @ParkourHero123 one advice cause i know how you fell i had that... well just dont think about what might happend and think how you gonna do it and then just go for it thats what i did

    ps

you need to have a great push up with your hands and keep your legs as high to your chest as posible ^^

  • @ParkourHero123 Try to go as far as you can however do not go too far as you may just fall

  • @ParkourHero123

Big run up, and it took me like 50 attempts toget it perfect, try taking of from one foot for long obstacles and two feet for high obstacles

  • @ParkourHero123 I learned it in like... hmmmm... 4 weeks i think.

Some tips how i managed to make it:

    1.Have more speed.

    2. train on the "kash vault" and try to reach as far as you can.

    3. Dive into your object

  • @K4Storm uuhm kash and kong are pretty different but kash is a good foundation to start kong and vise versa but for a kong you want your back to be like this - but for a kash it can be like - or / if your facing to the right

  • @ParkourHero123 Raise your Knee to push for further distance?

  • @ParkourHero123 Reach out Further, Run Closer To The Table, and also Try To take longer arm reaches on the table, always helps me! :D

  • @ParkourHero123 try learning a diving kong

  • @ParkourHero123 You probably already know cause you posted a year ago but try doing a double kong.

  • music from?????

  • i love seeing how much more popular porkour (free running) is getting. Im still the only guy in my town that does it though. :( gotta start introducing people ^_^

  • I tried doing the monkey vault before and i would always bail before jumping, but I all you need is to know how to do it and not bail, on my last try I was doing it until I bail while in the air and let go of my hand(OUCH)

  • Thank you...i am a new comer to parkour...this vid has helped immensely!

  • i get scared with this move cause my feet are huge and its hard to get them through my arms

  • Thanks for the tutorial!

  • tomorrow I'll train it, thanks :D

  • my fear isnt the dive its jus hiting my knees

  • im new to free running and need easy tricks and advice

  • im new to free running and need advice and some easy tricks plz help

  • i'm not afraid of the dive, i'm more afraid i'm going to hit my feet on the object and possibly faceplant. any tips? or could you make a video on how to get over this fear?

  • yer i was at first (im 14) you just have to bring your legs to your chest more ive face planted once and it wasnt because of my feet hitting it was i tried something to long and got them caught on the edge of the table just after i jumped... so just start on small things... PS try on grass helps alot (not on CONCRETE lol) help this helps lol probaly not

  • @projectilefreak96

oh okay man thanks, i'll keep practicing and stuff

  • i find i use the 2 foot take off to get more hight and the 1 foot take off for speed :)

  • Same thing here, but sometimes when I do the 1 foot take off, i start to spin over the obstacle after jumping. any advise to get this fixed?

  • are spinning into a front flip or a like 180 type thing?

  • Thank you very much. Finally i managed to learn it. Subscribed too ;)

  • @Bigheadet I think that your problem can be solved by simply stop touching the obstacle just before your legs get between your arms, I mean if you're trying to pass your legs between your arms but leaving your arms in the obstacle then that's a cat leap-Dash.

@sunshinestuntdub that's because you need to lift more your hips, you can achieve this by jumping with one foot in front of the other and finally pulling with your arms but to the front, not downwards (hope to be usefull :S)

  • nice vid for ppl who are learning the kong, i have to say, this isnt criticising or anything im just sayin u need to get it more fluid and more stretched out

  • the best is when you put your legs separated one in front and one behind it lifts more your hips and is more unlikely that your knees will touch the obstacle but you need more speed to reach the end of the table with that method and i don't like the 2 feet method because it slows me down and i don't know what you mean by the 1 foot jump, that's for the dash isn't it?

  • you jump step foot. try doing a skip just before you take off this helps give you momentom (cant spell for shit) after the skip put the foot that you feel most comfortable with down and push off with it

  • I guess that we mean the same ^.^ and your spelling is right, just change the last "o" for a "u"

  • i really hope this helps, ive been trying and failing at kong, i just seem to crane every time XP

  • wow this is some good shit man youre a good tut video maker anyway i always seem to hit my ass onto the end of the object when i bring my legs through my arms during a kong vault can you help me out a bit?

  • btw yu should put your head down first so yur legs go up and give a chance for yur legs to get through then you pull your head up

  • after banging my knee about 12 times from not jumping fast enough and my knee hiting the side i finaly got it thanks for the Tutorial!

  • i think my arms are two short, or my legs are too long. either one i can never do these without my feet touching

  • @sunshinestuntdub

I remember when i was trying the kong. Couldnt do them for my life. Simalilr problem to you. Keept trying tho, and i got it after a while. I had to work hard for it but i got it. Im good at them now

Try tilting your head more forward and coming in at more of an angle. Your jump should be as powerful as possible to start with, it should get your hips as high as possible and this will help you clear the obstacle. Hope this helps :-)

  • @sunshinestuntdub place your hands at the very and and look down ;D

  • @sunshinestuntdub Your feet shouldnt be going through your arms for a kong vault...

think of this move as a sort of elevating dive. Bring your hips UP

  • @sunshinestuntdub you my friend are stupid

  • If your going to a really quick progression between jumps, one foot. but if your wanting it to look controlled and clean or doing it into something like a cat or prescision, then i think two foot would be better. it is also indivudal to each person in how they feel is best to do it and how they feel comfortable.

  • the purpose of the 2 foot method is for high things while the 1 foot are for longer distances :)

  • debateable. I would say the 1 foot should never be used...but meh...what do i know.

  • @ParkourBlog

1 foot for dash speed and lazy (thief) vaults, 2 foots for kong double kong and kash

  • I would recommend jumping off one foot to get the splay. This will also help you with your distance Diving Kongs and it will help you advance much faster. Jumping off 2 feet was my biggest problem to get over. Just an idea. To see what Im talking about look up "Progression of the Kong" by UndeadZarlin.

  • check my description.

  • That didn't really tell me anything about what I said. I was just trying to throw out a suggestion though. Sorry if I offended you by trying to help.

  • did u not click the more info part? The last paragraph is all about your comment...

And no you didn't offend me..i just get so many comments on this that i made a section in the video description, and people still leave comments...

Oh and if you'd read the right thing you'd know you were doing the opposite of 'helping'

  • nice

now can you make a tutorial explaining the difference betwen height step and distance step

in your video you are using height step, feet togheter and jumping up.

the distance step is like, you are running and the front foot will give you height and the back foot will give you distance.

i think ppl will like to know about those details which became excelent techniques.

  • this is a good idea and I may if i can find the right obsticles to do it

  • My apologies and I didn't mean to annoy you.

  • You didn't annoy me, i just get tired when people don't read the descriptions on videos, they're there for a reason.

Your point in vaild, and no one had talked about it on this page...it's just i've dealt with it enough times in the last 262 comments...you can see how that gets tireing...i need to update tis video anyway tbh

  • thanks man now im almost there

  • its easy man! Do you jock

  • thanks man that really hleped :)

  • learn split foot kong, it helps, ive been doin PK for years, i just learned split foot n its rly helpful!

  • thx so much

  • thanks

  • what song is that?

  • Hi I've Been doing Parkour for about 2 mounths now and this is the tutorial i used to get the kong down but i have found that lowering your head helps you clear the object and looks more profesinal Thank you for posting this tuorial

  • good tutorial man nice and gradual 5/5

  • subbed :D u make awesome tutorials dude. props

  • you make GREAT tut's.

thanks man! u got a 5/5 from me.

    keep going you'll great.!

  • Nice quality of video :)

  • 5/5 subbed ;D

  • I subscribe :D

  • I'd like to point out 1 flaw in your jumping technique

When you transition from running to jumping, you shouldn't plant your feet together and split step. When you do this, you slow down your momentum making it harder to go farther. You should keep the flow by running and diving straight into the kong, without stopping to do a 2 footed jump. Keep your steps staggered and dive directly into it.

When you jump, it should be off 1 foot, not 2. Stagger your steps and don't break the flow

  • read description please

  • Not necassaraley because for high objects you do two feet and for distance is one.

  • thx is it that easy if ur a lanky cunt like me??? plz respond

  • plz respond :P

Yes, yes it is :) makes up for all the things i cant do because i am a 'lanky cunt' :P

  • alryt thx its good to no that u dont have to be a wee titchy cunt to do this :P thx again

also let me say good vid =D

  • cool, thanks

  • Kinda like a longstride vault, but you carry your legs with you and get a bigger jump, as well as always facing foward.... simple enough, thanks ^.^

  • dude you have one of the best tutorials iv seen and showed with great angles

  • thanks. great tips you help me out SO MUCH . the other people that diss you have NO LIFE!!! haha *cough* whitedumdarseboy *cough*

  • thanks man very very helpful i can do several vaults but have been scared to try the kong incase i faceplant but now i want to try and do them until i can do them without thinking about it.

    thanks. (y)

  • sigh......i'm the dumb ass? I can't even read what you wrote.

I get the jist, and even from that I know you are wrong.

A kong is a big monkey - there is a reason for the name 'kong' its not just a random word...

This is a kong because my legs are off the ground before my hands touch the obstacle...in a monkey, your hands are on the obstacle and then your feet leave the ground...

tbh i just read your comment and actually i have no idea what you said...please articulate your point properly

  • learn how to spell you hypocritical retard and use proper grammar. The guy put this video on youtube to help people like me learn kongs and you insult him and undermine him. You are the *dumb arse* not dumd arse. Why don't you just fucking leave nice, helpful people alone and crawl into a hole somewhere you dickhead

  • Oh yeah just so people know you don't have to push off with two feet generally for the monkey vault you do but for the Kong Vault most traceurs actually push off with one foot for distance and speed while sprinting into it although you can push off with two feet as well! :D

  • TY for the vid man.

  • thanks forn the vid

  • its a gd tutorial but ur ment 2 get ur head down then bring it up at the end.

this has got 2 be one of the coolest moves in parkour and is so easy 1nc u lern it

  • Usually I swing my arms forward in a lunge while taking off. It helps improve the dive momentum.

  • this is my favorite move

  • i tried it yesterday with my traceur friend and he was able after all the tries to do it but i wasn't does anyone have tips to get your legs higher when you dive over the object?

  • yea c when u place ur hnds on the wall table ect and u dive .... lean ur head as far forword as possiable by doing this ur hips can go higher there fore u can get ur legs through ur arms easier .... hope this helps =D

  • sure you mean forward and not down?

  • lean a lot further forward, this will bring you legs up abling you to clear larger objects.

  • Generally, getting your legs parallel to the object is fine for most obstacles. If you want to get some height, you can either kick your other leg up or simply use the two-foot punch takeoff. It's difficult to get a lot of height with the split-foot takeoff when you first start using it.

  • Your body needs to be more parallel to the table IMO.

  • whit 1 leg u will gain much momentum then the 2 leg takeoff

  • sol de sa is in my languge.kong is most easier vault in parkour but good video.what is your longest kong

  • thanks it helped

  • no........no it is not.

  • oooo thanks so much i wanna start free running i just came out of 4 years of tie kwan do, so i think i might be strong enought but this looks rlly herd but it aculy is easy way 2 go 5 stars

  • That's the tiger jump the kong is when place one hand for example you're right one and then swing you're legs to the left straight or crouched. =) good video though

  • Somewhere you have got very confused. The kong is not a 'tiger jump' i can be called a 'salle de chat' (aka 'cat jump/leap' in english) but it is what the tutorial says it is. The jump you described doesn't really sound like a real parkour movement - it is ineffective. You me trying to describe a speed vault, but i'm not sure (no vaults have straight legs when going to the side, slows momentium).

  • um I think you mean ''saut de chat '' for cat jump.

  • fair do's, i dont do french and prefer using the english anyway. Salle sounded wrong. Saut it is, i was just trying to exspain why tiger may have been used.

  • exuse me i cant kong on somthing thts over like 2 and a halfeet wen i do my feet always hit the top and i end up just climbing onto it also wen i kong for some reason i lean to one side

  • Why jump off two feet and not one?

  • read the description.

  • oo tats easy

  • Sure is :)

  • wow! a parkour video without euro trance or hard rock background music. thanks!

  • lmao did you just figgured out thats that the differnce omg what else would be the difference and with a monkey you dont dive into the air with a kong you can but wouldnt need to dive far only if the object is long or just to make the move cooler :P

  • you sort of do need to dive....how else will your legs leave the ground before your hands hit...

And you can 'dive' in monkeys, just its more like a long reach.

  • Hey can you make an Advanced Kong Tutorial?

  • not that bad of a tutorial. check out my kong vault, its pretty beast. :D

  • Are you SURE thats the difference between a monkey vault and a kong?

  • is what?

The difference is that Monkey = hands on the object before the feet leave the ground, whereas in a kong, the feet are off the ground when the hands hit.

  • Comment removed

  • naah , i checked online a lot of different sources... that IS the difference

  • tare man

  • ParkourBlog, where are you guys from?

Two foot take off's don't look anything as good as a split foot, and splitfoot take offs are with two foot also. How long have you been parkouring? I've personally been into pk for about 5 years, and strength training for about 3 of them. And the only way to truely kong is with a split foot take off. I'll make some tutorial videos this summer, because - no offense - i have found none that show proper form for most efficient jumps and greatest distance.

  • 'guys' is a few people to many. I'm from London.

And they clearly look much better. With two footed takeoffs the feet stay split usually in the jump. It looks pants. It look sloppy. It looks uncontrolled.

The only way to truely Kong is not with a split foot. See the above video.

I have been 'in' parkour for 3 and did gymnasics (aka my strength training) for 10 years before that.

Make what you want. I have done what I do, take from it what you will.

  • Point taken, I'm from PKTO, which is in Toronto, and when we have a few tutorial videos up - I'll make sure that you get a chance to view some of them.

Good luck with the parkouring brother.

  • do you know where wigan is? it is in england.

cos i could really do with a pk tutor thats this good cos ive only just started i can do some but i would really like feed back for other people

  • ye i do know where wigan is.

Best thing i can advice for you is forums, search them and go meet with people who do parkour in your area

  • ty i hav joined a group but theres only 3 of us and 1 of them is my little bro
