  • I cannot stand her politics, but there is no denying her outstanding talent and astonishing quality of her voice. It is always a pleasure to her her.

  • @Bravo21 Great voice...always like her politics. But to each his own:)

  • lovely voice beautiful woman

  • when one listens to her .... one wonders are those that don't like her completely tone deaf... the musicality... the pitch... the phrasing... the interpretation... the story telling... all flawless.... but there is no accounting for taste or the lack of it

  • Her voice, the song, take me to heaven in one second

  • MAGISTRAL VERSIÓN DE LA MEJOR CANTANTE DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS!!!!!!!!!!

  • Please watch our cover of this song on our channel! :)

  • the shadow or your smile when you at gone ......i like it song barbara is the most importan singer

  • I wish her politics were as good as her voice! This is by far the best version of "The Shadow of your Smile". Fantastic arrangement behind her.

  • She doesn't sing notes...she sings pearls.

  • This song is amazing, sung by an amazing singer.

  • Barbra .. amazing <3

  • 어썸..

  • So, so good! Favorite version.

  • @europa599 Sarah Vaughn does an excellent job with this song. Check it out if you haven't already.

  • Everytime I hear this song, Ithink of the movie "The Sandpiper" with the beautiful Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Babs sings it so beautifully, but I have the 45 rpm record at home by Tony Bennett. They would be a great duo together if they have not done this great song. You thinkk . ..

    Iris

  • @-ezabdullah-Connie Francis did record this song, not with a bossa nova beat, but Connie did a great version! i have to listen to Peggy Lee's rendition now because i don't remember hearing it before. many great singers of the 60's recorded this. i think Dean Martin was one of the few singers who did not record this.Did any other singers not record this?that is a good trivia question, huh?

  • Superba voce,minunata melodie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • songs like this

    are hard to find....

  • BARBRA FOREVER SHE IS A DREAM FOR MY SOUL

  • The shadow of your smile When you are gone Will color all my dreams And light the dawn Look into my eyes, my love, and see All the lovely things you are to me A wistful little star Was far too high A tear drop kissed your lips and so did I Now when I remember spring All the joy that love can bring I will be remembering The shadow of your smile Now when I remember spring All the love that joy can bring I will be remembering The shadow of your smile...
  • In response to my comments. I meant " It would be interesting to vice would interesting to."

  • This version is superb. The orchestra is stupendous. Barbra is a wonderfully talented singer. Her voice really complimented the arrangement and vice versa. It would interesting to hear a Connie Francis or Shirley Bassey version with this orchestra. My my my, did Barbra know how to pick her band.

  • letra em portugues, PAULO ROBERTO para gravação de ANTONIO MARCOS, WANDERLEY CARDOSO,JERRY ADRIANE,PAULO ROBERTO,NELSON GONÇALVESNEMILIO SANTIAGO

  • Unrivaled. She is simply the best.

  • genia!!!!

  • jjejeejejejejeeeeee:):))))

  • "Звезда пленительного счастья" - это вечность!!!

  • @Nadezda1010 vc tem bom gosto e sentimento gostei muito tambem americanopolis sao paulo

  • I love Barbra but no one can sing this song as well as Jonny Mathis

  • @mikekaye71 Just heard Johnny's version...it was alright but for my taste I thought Englebert did a better job on the guys side with the song. Would prefer to hear Johnny sing Chances Are or Too Much Too Little Too Late. Off to listen to Tony Bennet's version next...going to bet it is better than Johnny's. Of course, this is all just a matter of taste after all.

  • This is Bossa Nova for sure!!! Nice song!

  • Truly an angelic voice! The best!

  • very fine interpretation, very fine tune, excellent performance .. great barbara :)

  • sweet. mellow...such a voice!!! barbra, if you're ever in keene nh....let's jam....

  • Miss Barbra ... I kiss your hands !!

  • Flawless performance by the great songtress Barbra. Incredible introduction and overall superb bossa nova orchestral arrangement.

  • it's the first time i hear this version!

    i just love it!!

    brilliant!

what an amazing pure voice barbra streisand had!! pure talent!

  • I just love these groovy 60's style bossa novas!

  • I have this song called shadow of your smile on my cell phone, thats why im trying to find it and listen to it :).

  • 12 people have nothing to smile about. Poor sods.

  • maravillosa Barbra

  • Great, Barbra, just great

  • Streisand's version is the classic version. No one else holds a candle to this. None other.

  • Great cover Barbra !!

  • Nice!

  • Sassy's version is the best

  • @buffalmacco76 I think Sassy's is the best too. Frank Sinatra would have agreed. He claimed that Sarah Vaughan taught him everything he knew about singing.

  • @avesraggiana Yes I knew this. They even sang together at the London Palladium for a week-concerts along with Count Basie. It was 1975. I have an audio recording of that. But I guess they were not so friends....

  • Kiedy odszedłeś Wspomnienie twojego uśmiechu Będzie kolorować wszystkie moje marzenia I je rozjaśniać aż do świtu Spójrz mi w oczy Kochanie i zobacz Wszystkie słodycze Którymi jesteś dla mnie Nasza mała nostalgiczna gwiazda była zbyt daleko i wysoko łza spłynęła na twoje usta A ja wiec je ucałowałam Teraz, kiedy wspominam wiosnę i wszystkie radosne chwile Na zawsze mi zostanie Obraz twojego uśmiechu
  • Babara Streisand - WOO WOO OOH WOO OH WOO WOO

  • smooth, classy, victorious kind of sadness, enchanting...

  • nyoro~n

  • Just another example of the talent pool located in Brooklyn, NY.... Ms. Streisand was blessed with Perfect Pitch as a singer...which is not a common thing..Almost unheard of in the new generation of female singers out today...Oh...did I mention the String arrangement is to die for...Thank you AsylumDeneye for Posting this Gem...on of my favorites along with "He Touched Me"....Peace & Love

  • Beautiful Song By The Wonderful Singer Barbara Streisand. A Fabulous Orchestral Arrangement For This Song. TOPS!

  • Yes I have heard every recorded vocal version of this tune. Some are wonderful no doubt, but again Barbras musicality and timing etc.. are simply flawless.. just perfectly arranged and performed... who else makes us feel goosebumps? I am happy to listen to your opinion...

  • Sorry... No one else comes close.. to Babs... Its pretty much the definitive! Clarity.. Diction.. Pitch... and most Expressive...........

  • @bardbulky15 Oh, please. Have you heard everybody sing it? She does a great job as many have.

  • One of my mom's favorites^^

  • Love this. Really beautiful. Have to agree Carly Smithson's version is also amazing. What a shame Simon panned her version on Idol. It was stellar.

  • This is great by Ms. Streisand, but I have to give it to Carly Smithsons version on American Idol....Carly killed it.

  • beautiful

i've chosen this song for our wedding dans...

makes me think about my husband

  • @liefvis

yeah I was just thinking... I want this played at my wedding... when I decide to get married (I'm still very young xD)

  • I don`t know in which album is this beautiful song, After Johnny Mathis, my favorite singer is Barbra. Thank you AsylumDeneye!

  • I love Peggy's version of this.. Barbra Streisand's version is good technically, but seems a bit cold and affected to me. I love the warmth of Peggy's version.

  • For you my great love Alexander de JONG

    From Elizabeth de JONG

  • bellisimo como una gran artista que permanece siempre vigente para todas las generaciones

  • For me this is the definitive version of this lovely song. Barbra's vocal is soft, romantic, almost lilting--and the musical arrangement has a sweetly sophisticated bossa nova swing. Simply gorgeous.

  • QUE TALENTO ,QUE VOZ UNICA !!!

  • great

  • Bella versión de Barbra Streisand The Shadow of Your Smile

    8Romantica

  • She's simply the best.

  • no one can "sing" this song like the great Jack Sheldon, who it was written for. Only his trumpet can give it the justice it deserves.... no vocalist will ever do justice....

  • Just Pure Beauty !

  • Just Pure Beauty !

  • i loveded.........bella!!

  • Tout simplement magnifique !

  • Well...this song has been covered by many...and so many have commented on who sings it best...seems most prefer Peggy Lee's version on the female side...for me this Streisand version is tops on the female side.

  • @80sweregr8

I am very much in agreement with you. Great taste for female vocalist.

  • Streisand almost always goes away from great American songbook stuff. I think during her younger years she was just feeling her uniqueness. Most "standards" are expected to be sung in the same spirit of the "original" and that didn't fit her being such a pioneer. I wish she tackled these songs right after she did her first broadway album. Her vibe then would have been better than Rondstadts run of oldies during the same period.

  • @80sweregr8 - yes you are right - really very nice

  • @80sweregr8 Totally! I also love Astrud Gilberto!

  • @samgamgeeisbrilliant As much as I actually like Astrud Gilberto...her version just doesn't work for me. Certainly I could hear her sing the Girl from Ipanema over and over and other songs in that genre. I also see that Astrud sings "Light My Fire" and I must say I don't have the courage to click on that vid. At least not tonight. If you like Astrud Gilberto, give her duet with George Michael a go...song is Desafinado. Tell me what you think.

  • @80sweregr8 It was nice! Thanks for sharing! I love nice conversations about music like this. Babs definitely knocked this one out of the park. Desafinado was pretty good, and I bet it'd be better after I listen a few times more.

  • @80sweregr8 me too i feel that barbra sing it better

  • Comment removed

  • @80sweregr8 Carmen McRae, Connie Francis, Blossom Dearie, rather a matter of taste, rendition and conception :)

  • @alexjrmarino I know in another post you indicated Sarah Vaughan sang your favorite version of this song. I just heard her live 1963 performance. It fell into the alright category for me...so much slower than Babs version. Just comes down to taste, preference and style I suppose.

  • @80sweregr8 yeah i found Sarah Vaughan a bit rehearsed, too.I meant for another song "Easy to live" which suits her style pretty much. Of course we take about 30% of the real feeling of being there that night.. anyway, these girls are the best, much better than the crap people are used to listen to nowadays-loud and desentisized and it's such a shame.. Girls like Anita O'day and Billie Holiday and Ella changed the way how women sing and behave on stage since then

  • @80sweregr8

As much as I adore Barbra, on this one, top honours have to go to Sarah Vaughn!

  • ah...breathtaking!!! she is so amazing!!! moves u!

  • you are right - really very nice

  • Who is Mr Sreinsand?

  • James Brolin (Josh Brolin's father)

  • Tem razão. É mesmo Bossa Nova...Se ela soubesse Português ainda soaria melhor mas não se pode exigir tudo...Bonito...

  • This is Bossa Nova!

    I loved!

    Beijo do Brasil

  • Que voz y que canción!!!!

  • Excelente versión en la voz cristalina de Barbra.

  • Песня навсегда!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting this beautiful version of a lovely lovely song. Great listening.

  • que linda musicaaaa

  • Faboulous singer

  • Excellent. I love all renditions of this song actually.

  • among the female voices in singing barbra streisand is the best.

  • Comment removed

  • enunciating a bit too much

  • She has a smoothness to her voice like something creamy. She can really hold those long notes too. A great singer. :)

  • Lovely version of this great song. Still I prefer Peggy Lee singing this one! Check it out, it's also on youtube and in my opinion the best version ever.

  • I agree with you! I also love Rosemary Clooney's version of "The Way We Were" from her album, "With Love".

  • for this song, peggy lee and perry como are both excellent

  • I agree Peggy Lee's rendition is great. Perry Como's rendition is excellent too, check it out.

  • I love this photo as well. She looks great.

  • I like Barbra's voice and singing almost as much as I do Johnny Mathis. She does a great job on this.

  • Che voce... incredibile.... grazie.

  • thanks for posting this amazing video, Barbra Streisand is fantastic, so talented.

  • I love this bossa nova style version. Miss Streisand makes it very romantic and dreamy.

  • Yo conocí a Astrud Gilberto por esta canción y no puedo creer que no esté en Youtube. Creo que sería bueno que la puedan comparar.

  • i have 3 lady in my life my MOTHER BARBRA and OUM KALTHOUM i will remamber them and there smiles

  • God bless Barbra!..

  • Oh Jeez... Barbra is the best. She is so on. With power and grace.

  • La versión de Barbra Streisand es muy linda, pero creo que la de Astrud Gilberto es mejor.

  • le due sono uguale secondo me... differente ma uguale

  • Tienes razón, cuando se escucha las dos versiones es difícil decidir.

  • Along with Johnny Mathis, this is my favorite version of this lovely song. Thanks for sharing.

  • Barbara is a phenom. However, when she did

this material in the 60's with this kind of

orchestra, there can be no comparison whatsoever.

  • Beutiful! Stunning! The greatest female vocalist of all time. Thanks for posting!!

  • My exact words always. THE GREATEST FEMALE VOCALIST OF ALL TIME!!! STREISAND RULES!!!!!!!

  • She definitely is the grandest!

  • Sure ^^ "My name is Barbra, two"

  • you are so lucky! it is a nice name :)

  • @AsylumDeneye And she is such a lovely Lady ...

  • Can you please tell me what album this is from? Thank you!!
