  • This isn't Punk :)

  • I didn't like this movie at first, but it grew on me...and I talk to one of the actors from it, so, I guess that's cool O_o

  • @frankisbored wich one?

  • How can one call himself a "punk" while being religious?

  • @punkstuffstfu Why, is that a problem????

  • @bigNur1 Give me a reasonable answer to my question and I'll tell you what the problem might be.

  • @punkstuffstfu I asked you, a two questions... but never mind. I don't know what you mean by that so it would be hard for me to explain you. Islam is only religion which determines the spiritual and moral values, so i don't see nothing wrong to be . Listening music in islam is not haram, or clothing which the punk people wear, you can do your regular prayer . I dont know man , i dont know what you mean, that's why i asked you..if you explain maybe i could give a proper answer.

  • @bigNur1 Well I myself am an Athiest.. and the entire punk scene where I live are Athiests so it's kinda controversial to see Islamic punks. Punks don't want anyone above them, no Authority, but a God is an Authority so this gets me confused.

  • @punkstuffstfu Authority, yes but when we talk about that authority we talking about people, when you said above them, so we speaking the only potencial enemy of human, another man. Believing in God is more spiritual thing.... it is something private, and it should not be compared with human and our "lovely things". So believing in God , and being yourself as an authority, maybe to you is controversial....

I hope i explain to you, and u understood.....

  • @ShakeTheMilkshake1 Okay I get it, just do me a favour. Let your kids choose wether they want to believe in it or not. Because after all, you're only human.

  • chootyay, gandhoo LOL

  • The Kuffar made this to misguide the Muslim youth so they will be just as lost as the fools in this movie. Hence this is why our ummah is weak. It is because we have no unity due to all the devience.

  • just like all punks and what not.

    -

they will grow out of it once they are bored.

its just a means to pass time at the end of the day, untill ofcourse they see what they realy want in life. . . . if that ever happens.

    -

    peace.

  • Yusef is such a Mary Sue.

  • does jehangier die?

  • lame just a bunch of idiots who think they are expressing themselves who btw are way 2 old for this teenage shyt and need to get a life and grow up kinda movie, next

  • @kazper333 you are too small for this, my brother.

  • @kazper333

If you hate "teenage shyt" so much, why do you spell like a retarded teenager?

  • Their intention is to extinguish Allah's Light (by blowing) with their mouths: But Allah will complete (the revelation of) His Light, even though the Unbelievers may detest (it).

    [Qur'an 61:8]

  • Dominic Rains who plays Jehangir, plays a cameo performance, a real young talent.

Come on you casting agents out there, give this talented young actor a real character role to play.

  • This film is a work of Art, found it riveting, most original film i have seen for a long time. The youth of today can really relate to the concepts of identity as a whole. The film is not about Islam its about finding your own identity in a very diverse mixed society. Who are we to label? It is the extremist mollahs who tell us what we should be doing to be a true Muslim that is bullshit.!!!

  • And btw the "kids" in this movie would be kaffirs if it was in real life. Sinning does not make you a unbeliever, but to state a forbidden thing is allowed, that makes you as unbeliever as an atheist.

And such ideas are portrayed in this movie multiple times. As for the youth today, i think parents have badly shot themeselves by trying to mix western culture with their own crappy backward ones.

Islam accomodates things like sex, socialising and enjoyment, but in the correct way that it is c

  • I watched this movie and it's a utter disgust. It might look nice to scumbags and wannabe muslims who suck to western bullshit because their own ethnic culture sucks.

I'm sure the producer is hiding and is clever to do so. I get the impression that american muslims are very weak and pathetic.

  • So you're thinking punk stands for drinking and sex , Allah didn't prevent people from enjoying a little , nonetheless to be Taqwacore you really have to accord with what islam teaches , Islam didn't say anything about pursuing what you like if you were a true muslim you wouldn't have the need to criticize us , if you really are as muslim as you think i'd say you start praying like i do brother , we criticize the west and new youth too much to stay focused on what matters no muslim is a critic.

  • THIS IS NOT WHAT ISLAM TEACH. ISLAM IS CLEAN.. of course islam not forbid you to listen to punk song but islam dont teach you to drink and doing sex before married.. if you want to do all that think.. it's fine, but dont call yourself "islam punk" even you dont neglect to solat 5 times a day,, you're still doing what ALLAH prevent you to do..

  • Rap sucks and Pop sucks , Pakistan needs punk PBUH didn't judge man kind on what clothes style of hair they had , a true muslim is judged only by tawhid and islam no man nor woman can judge a person im 13 im punk and im proud im going to start a band about punk and im going to bring down the scene of pop and rap off this country and bring out the black flag of punk heavy metal and hard core , there'll be goth muslims punk muslims and emo muslims they shall read quran they shall be true to islam.

  • Idiots screaming "this isn't Islam" have TOTALLY missed the point, LOL, typical.

  • @pauseTV

I totally agree, I am a converted Muslim, I drink, I do not pray, but I strive to be the best person I can be to my family neighbours and friends. I do this in the name of Allah as my guide.

  • this isnt islam, this is teen rebellion and angst. I listen to all kinds of rebellious and heavy music but when it comes to religion, they are two different things. Because religion islam is sacred to me.

  • the song at 0:28 is called "Blow Shit Up" by The Kominas if anyone was wondering

  • Comment removed

  • how is the song called in this trailer? i looove it!

  • @mrsbayyinah it's the kominas of course with "blow shit up". thanks for ur help ;)

  • Tottal random find. I am so STOKED to learn about this book and watch the film!! This looks beautiful.

  • this fucking disgusting and a shame people are trying to distort the real message of islam with this garbage

  • Muslims and sand niggers can't be punks.

  • riott girl with burka HAHAHA really funny

  • This is madness. This is sparta...Thats who these guys remind me off. Raving ranting gay spartans

  • Favorite quote from the movie: "I'm so Muslim I can say fuck Islam."

  • thy're better..wild but still rmember that Allah is exist n they recognize that they're moslem.than people who said that they moslem but the're such ignore their faith

  • Interesante. ♥

  • Take the extremes of the Western culture and throw Islam into the mix = Taqwacore. Shit is so lame and wannabe-ish. If you wanna be "taqwacore" then be it. Don't bring religion into this.

  • WHY IS THIS NOT IN AUSTRALIA!!

  • This isnt Islam

  • @ehma00011 nobody said it was bro

  • @ehma00011 You are absolutely right, this is free, beautiful and useful ;)

  • PUNKS! No matter where ya go, there we are! ;)

Fuck ya Flags, Fuck Ya Borders,

Fuck Ya Laws n Fuck ya orders.

Lookin forward to seein this. in solidarity

  • @jetulik nah, just fuck you

  • Way to ruin Islam, this is why people lose faith. The character of this supposed to be Muslim guy in the Film is against the principles of Islam from A-Z.

  • this is not islam..

  • This is sooo fucking sick!!

Is that guy is the red mohawk Benjamin Bratt.

  • I would consider myself a punk kinda guy. I hate cops, the government, people who maliciously ruin others lives, authority, people who think they know better for me than I know for my self. But, I am also a God fearing punk. Yah punk seems like your supposed to be atheist, or hate God, and hate religion because of how much war it has caused. I believe it is man to hate, and that God does exist. Its not impossible to be a punk and have some faith too.

  • So they're like "kiss"??? (jews doin rock)??

  • Main dude looks a bit like clooney. Pause 0;47 to believe.

  • god does not exist.yes its related so stfu.

  • When is this getting release??? I am looking forward for this one..

  • peace

    1:16 Karbala??

  • well dudes, if there's a definition of a backlash - then it's taqwacore. the punk / hc scene struggled for centuries to get over that conservative status quo (which includes religion) to emanzipate at least oneself and having an impact on close friends. become a vegetarian/vegan, suporting female emanzipation, criticise society out of an humanitarian background. being atheist, communist, anarchist. so - REJECT ALL RELIGION F**CK THAT SHIT BECOME PUNX !

  • @rickypoveri Let me guess - you're 17 and just found out about punk rock music, yes?

  • @rickypoveri Punk has now become one of the most conservative forms or modern music. "That's not punk, think isn't punk, blah, blah, blah.

If "punk" is supposed to be about rejecting all authority, then you must also reject authoritative ideas about what "punk" is and how to be "punk." Punk must be about self-definintion and not following any path set by someone else. Which, if your were paying attention, you would see is exactly what Taqwacore is trying to do.

  • @socialbenthos indeed! what an articulate response, good job

  • what's the song at 00: 27 ?

  • @lampard59 kominas - blow shit up

  • Hi! What's the song name in the trailer?

  • @Twombli I believe it's called Blow Shit Up by the Kominas.

  • @kotuhell Thanks! ;)

  • just heard about this on the cbc sounds interesting but a little misguided but everyone is entitled to their opinion and views of islam and religion in general. i myself am a white convert , i was a catholic and i converted not only because i found the religion to be interesting and enlightening but also cause muslims are great people and i found an amazing muslim girl that i want to spend my life with. we are not hardcore muslims but we follow the rules and life is good anyway.... im ranting :)

  • I guess there's another movie titled "The Taqwacore" and it's a documentary about beginning of punk rock in islam countries. This is other movie, am I right?

  • @dzepe Ok, so Taqwacore is a book that was read by a bunch of people who actually started to live it in America. then they made a documentary about the Taqwacore people in the US going to other countries and spreading it around. Now they are making a movie based on the book an thats the trailer you just watched

  • This movie looks lame.

  • Wow that looks amazing!! Can't wait to see it.. looks like great casting and cinematography! can't wait to hear all the hype and complaints this is going to cause...

  • I was fortunate to see the world premiere of this movie at Sundance, and it is truly beautiful. I love its feeling of revolt, struggle, without letting go of search for faith and spirituality. It's raw and honest with beautiful cinematography and kick ass soundtrack by real taqwacore bands The Kominas, Al Thawra, and Secret Trial Five...
