@dogthedog2 I was accused of being a bad parent when my daughter learned how to unlock and open sliding doors and take a early morning walk around the neighborhood at 2 1/2 yr old. In fact my own parents said they just couldn't understand how I could "loose" her from time to time in a store or turn around and she'd be gone. That is until one day they watched her for me and she "escaped" from them. It didn't take long to find her, nearly 3 blocks away, headed for her favorite store.

@JogBird Not making excuses because I don't know what happened. I know when my son was two/three he could open doors, unlock dead bolts, and even climb the walls to the ceiling in our hallway if you wasn't paying constant attention. We ended up putting a hook latch at the top of the doors with a spring mechanism to ensure it couldn't be unlatched. I caught him on several occasions with a broom, stack of big builders blocks, & other tools trying to unlatch that hook so he could get out to play.
