Heres a message to the ones who think Corby is bad - Its not, its been done up completely now an its not what it use to be, like every town/city it had its bad patch but its calmed down over the years. Who ever has been here recently u will see its changed.
Corby is one town which has every right to be proud. People who call it 'a crap place to live' surely can't understand its desperate history at the hands of Margaret Thatcher. It was my first sight of the deserted steelworks and the hopeless feeling of abandonment amongst Corby people which made me the socialist I am today. That Corby has fought back is a testament to the tenacity and determination of its people.

@MeBeKath There were no misleading facts Corby was a shit hole and now it's not a hell of a lot better if the councillors really cared about corby they would have built the hospital they were promising before the the Cube (which isn't even technically a cube), What we need in Corby is more sustainable Jobs and a better infastructure not a shitty glass building and an aircraft hanger with some water in it.
@Dave11989 Although the Cube was built first, the new healthcare is still going ahead and the building has already begun. Many new facilities in Corby are becoming avaliable, for instance the Cinema. Oppertunities like these are bound to create new jobs and bring the town further. Corby has, since it came down from it's glory days, improved greatly.
Given the fact i've moved away from Corby, i feel the right to comment.
(Aside from the fact it was 'Yob town 2008') - I personally hated the 8 years i spent in Corby. Sure, some people were nice and some places were okay, but when where you live, makes you fear sleeping on the ground floor, because burgluries happened on a regular occurance in your estate. Or seeing a fight outside your window EVERY weekend.
No, Corby isn't perfect. And i have no fond memories of the place.

I would just like to say that regardless of stats or facts Corby really isn't that bad. In fact Kettering and Wellingborough are not that different anymore and I think people cling to the bad rather than focusing on the good. Views tend to differ depending where you live in Corby, and if you have ever lived anywhere else. Putting Corby into one big sterotype is helping noone and extremely unrepresentative of the general town population.

Corby is a town that IS improving fast, but still has some big social problems that are NOT being adequately addressed. There are still areas where there is little done about EXTREMELY poor housing, obesity, teen pregnancy, benefits abuse etc., but Corby is becoming less like a degraded hell-hole every day. Credit to the council for getting things done, but Corby needs more than a glossy town centre!

I too lived away at uni and then came home, and actually everywhere has problems and Corby is not that bad! The town is actually starting to shape up to become good. One video states facts, the other is another contrived dig at Corby as a place. You have no argument in the face of concrete facts dazspencer1982, but jumping to the defence of a friend is only natural.
All you've proved in fact you are the "sad little twat", as you put it. Maybe that can be added as a fact in the next video ;)

Jumping to the defence of your hometown is only natural, inded I know Graham Cares passionately about Corby and its residents.. ENough to raise these issues in the first place. Its just a shame sad little twats like you have to jump on the band wagon and essentially prove... no point.

I am a close friend of Graham williams. This video is fucking shit! I am very glad that this little film has manged to get over 300 hits! If you could have the decency next time when creating your video NOT to steal all of Grahams footage to create it, and not ride on the back of someone elses video to promote yourself someone might take you seriously.

Well done mate, that's a great video. Corby is a great place to live. I am originally from Kettering but I moved to Corby to get more house for my money and I would NEVER consider moving back now. Corby is an exciting place to be now. PS My house is in the video...how cool!

True enough, Corby wasn't in such good shape when the Welcome to Hell video was posted but even so, the essential seeds had been laid and now they're sprouting.

I used to live in a 300 year old cottage in the country...
... I now live in a flat in the centre of Corby...
... and guess what..?
I am seriously happier... and Corby is a much better place to live
