  • are you trying to say that oscars version of any day now is better than chuck jacksons ??????????????????????..............if thats the case i think you need new speakers

  • @soulstar1963 OK, thanks for the advice.

  • @soulstar1963

A whole new set of ears me thinks, soul brother!

  • Ry Cooder & Band. Dark end of the street...Thats great version too

    Eldridge King : Vocals

    Terry Evans : Vocals

    Bobby King : Vocals

  • no...he doesn't hit all the notes...needs a bigger range.

  • The best version is the James Carr version without a doubt .. Have a listen.

  • @cliverkay Yes i have that version, it's good, ok!? Prefer Oscar tho! All his versions of previous releases by other artists are the very best!

  • @cliverkay Much as i like James Carr, his version is rather lack lustre, almost somnambulist by comparison. Mind you, James didn't have much competition with that tune at that time. Oscar brought it to life!

  • OMG! Thanks for posting this. I thought James Carr's version was awesome, but this is divine.

  • your the best

  • Wow! What a great fantastic version!

  • i have never heard this version it's great

  • I've never heard of Oscar Toney before this. Thanks for posting it. What an amazing voice, powerful and heartfelt (1:41). Simply great!

  • Glad you like it Alex, thank you for commenting!

  • This is another great rendition of this song. different flavor, same powerful soul. A classic brown liquor song.

  • A great version that slipped by the industry.

  • In my opinion the best version!

  • Amen on both comments, my friend.

  • Totally agree -- captures everything in the song like no one else.

  • I originally heard the song in Millennium series, which I have posted here...It's the original James Carr version and he beautiful guitar strings plays your soul...If you are watching my upload please read/click on the "more info". Cheers :)

  • la mejor version

  • Yes!

  • Great version! I sheepishly admit that this is the first time I've heard the name Oscar Toney jr.
