Well it seems we have similar tastes in gear. The tune is awesome the love her voice. Was that the finished track for vocals?? I actually have some great ideas that would just nuance the power of the delivery. As soon as the track started I picked up right away and peeled of some sweet leads.Thx fer the Vid!
@Azoresification I dig 'em both... the Electradyne has a bit more low mids, while the Stiletto has more high mids (and more gain on tap). So the Electradyne's nature is "fatter", while the Stiletto's nature is "crunchier".
@WarOfWordss I'd go for it. The bridge pickup in humbucker mode is powerful. You will have a powerful distortion but with clarity organic sound, hard to describe.
However if you are the type of guy with a emg 81 closed mind you will probably not be satisfied. I know you are thinking about palm muting, and yes, you can get that evil sound with a proper amplifier.
Thanks for the answer. . interesting design. I hang out with Randal Smith each year at the Vintage races in Infineon Raceway (was Sears Point). The guy wins his class (Chevron 1971) every time he races, and by a half lap over the other cars. Randy tells me about the stuff he is working on. He was super excited about the Express series while working on it. I missed seeing him last year. . never heard about this amp until it came out. Seems like a great amp. Kirk
Is the Electra Dyne a multi channel amp or a single channel that allows you to switch tone mods of some sort? Seems to function like a full on multi channel amp? I am confused. . someone help me out!
It's got a single gain control & single set of tone controls, so it "looks" like a single channel amp. But there are actually 3 channels (clean, vintage lo, vintage hi) that can be footswitched between. For as few knobs as it has, it's remarkably versatile (and pretty d@#$ quick to dial in, too).
Hazimmm182.. I have the Fender American Made Jag. Great fun guitar. . but you need to buy a hold down device for the strings or get a Mustang bridge. Shorter scale neck as well. I would go with the Mira. . much more of an all around guitar. Jag's are a blast, but they are a bit limited favoring clean sounds - surf music. The Mira will cover much more territory for you. Then get a Jag later on.
It has shared EQ (actually shared gain & master volume knobs, too) for all 3 channels, but it's a special "ganged" pot design that allows for different tapers for each channel. So far, I haven't had much issue in finding positions on the knobs that sound good across all 3 channels.
Great job man. I've had my ED head for a week and it's just an UNBELIEVABLE amp. Every tone I've ever wanted in one amp. You've got it down too. Every stage sounded different but fit perfect for what you were doing. Awesome. Keep em comin.
The backing track seems a little loud and overpowers the Mira in the video. Just a thought for next time.

That body shape makes it look like it would be quite unbalanced while sitting. How do you find it?

I've been thinking about buying a Mira guitar what are your thoughts about them.

A nice demonstration of what the mira can sound like...
Great Guitars! I have the Maple top version and it is an astonishing guitar... many, many sounds without altering the amp settings. :~)
Nice track and playing too!

Thx a lot for the demo. Liked it a lot. How does the Electrodyne compare to the Stiletto?

Very nice demo..
Will I be abble to get a metal tone with this guitar, a Blackheart Little Giant amp and Crunch Box distortion pedal?

solitary shell?

Hardly... though any similarity is coincidental since I originally wrote this song back in 1999 and only recently got around to recording it.

Question. Does it have independent eq settings for clean and crunch? Or does the voicing simply change, with no adjustment for EQ
