In 2008. I had identical idea for construction you show here. It is amazing for me to see it on YouTube. I am shocked now! And I spend few days in calculating forces. I made mathematical model and analyze system stability . I am graduated mechanical engineer and I have grate knowledge in control systems. There are few points of stability and that is reason why this system is not perpetuum mobile. But very close :) Nikola Tesla was Serbian as I am. We are all proud of him. Greetings from Serbia!
Very interesting concept. Very similar design to EDL's work, which is theorized to be a perfect balance of flowing magnetic current. If you haven't yet, look into Edward Leedskalnin's work and modify your mock-up accordingly (if needed) before taking the time to make the prototype. Everything you have here "appears" inline (almost exactly with what EDL what doing), but always good to use his work as a source, it may help.
Okay, I've been playing with a few magnets by hand and studying the forces. There is a rotational force on the pinion magnet causing it to rotate in one direction. BUT, there is also a linear force equal and opposite that cancels out the unidirectional motion along the planetary gear surface. Same is true of the pinions in relation to the inner rotor spur gear.
@ZeroFossilFuel I don't know. I have done this as well and I didn't notice any opposition to the movement. It seemed to me that the rotating magnet seemed to just slide right out of the surrounding fields. Also, you have to account for the planetary gear moving within the field of new magnets as it rotates. You could be correct, but I think the only way to know for sure would be to build it. Also, accelerating the gear system could have an effect on how the forces interact as well.
@ZeroFossilFuel refer to your statement above "BUT, there is also a linear force equal and opposite that cancels out the unidirectional motion along the planetary gear " I think u should try all the Bar magnet with either north pole is more stronger field strength then south or vice versa.. hope this will kick start in 1 direction with less number of Magnet Layout
@ZeroFossilFuel Thanks. Good idea with the throttle. No prototype has ever been built, to my knowledge, but the video is most popular in Russia and Ukrane, so who knows.

awsome planetary gearset hold the ring gear and the magnets do all the work i had a similar idea but .. i got to build it to see if it works but myne and yours shoud work they are the same concept of gears and poles working on a time basis are you building it to at least see what it will do?
@boardhardcore I can not afford to build the motor personally. A group MAY build the motor for me, but no garrantees. It is quite possible that the rotating magnetic fields will generate gravity waves and absorb ambient energy from the enviroment, such as heat.
Yes it must be built. it cant cost that much to make a small version? I had a dream of this machine at work my friend! Last night it was soo strong of a feeling i got and i watched it everythign else was black but your machine was working and for infinity i can not even describe the feelings of power i had in the dream, and what is strange is i have a very similar concept of your machine just came to mind a few days ago along with multiple other infinite rotating machines. Im not the only 1.
@boardhardcore It is very likely that the motor would opperate very similar to the Searl motor, so I would not be suprised if the motor draws in heat from the surrounding enviroment, just like the Searl motor. I believe that atoms channel energy into and out of their poles. Magnets are an alignment of similar atomic poles.
It is not about a point as such. For a particular pair of magnets there is (magnetic) resistance to bring two poles together that is the same force as that achieved by two poles repulsing. Once a north & south pole are at their closest points (assume the device isn't rotating) then what force gets it going? Any other pair of magnets exerts the same force so there is no net gain, so it can't self start. Start it spinning by hand & you have the same issues. No net gain. Friction will stop it.
@LiamXaoh I understand what you are saying, I've had this same discussion several times before. You are assuming that the magnetic field is a static force, I don't believe it is. I believe magnetism is a dynamic force flowing into and out of the poles of a magnet. Why else would an electromagnet require a constant current flow in order to sustain a magnetic field? What is the energy being converted into? This motor should be driven by the same forces that drive electron motion in atoms.
@teslacult - magnetic fields are (from permanent magnets) a static force. You believing magnetism is (generally) dynamic is your choice but that is not based on what is published. A constant current flow produces a static magnetic field. Devices or motors rarely have need for a static electromagnetic field and use a varying current, AC or on/off control. A varying current flow produces a dynamic magnetic field. There is no dynamic magnetic field in a magnetic motor. Does that help?
@LiamXaoh Dismissing something because it does agree with the accepted scientific models is not the scientific method, quite the opposite, it is a religion.
@teslacult - LOL. Religion is belief and faith despite evidence to the contrary. Where oh where is there any evidence to suggest magnetic motors work (other than the animated ones - which don't have to obey any laws of physics or common sense)?
@LiamXaoh The Perendev motor is a good example of a magnetic motor that does work. So, what exactly are you sugesting, since your religion says magnet motors don't work, I should be forbiden from drawing them? These drawing were made for two reasons: 1. demonstrate the motors opperation 2. serve as a blueprint for it's design. Will it work? I will not know until the prototype is built and it can be tested. Please explain what is wrong with that?
@teslacult - You need to check your facts. The Perendev motor doesn't work. NOne have been demonstrated in public and you can't buy them but you can invest in them.
Go ahead and draw them, but don't assume they work just because you draw them "working". And for Christ sake don't be so sensitive. What is with the religion crap - you're the one with blind faith.
@LiamXaoh If you are so sure that it will not work, then tell me why. At what point in the series of frames do you find resistance? If you can, please bring my attention to any point of equilibrium in my design.
@teslacult - the force required to bring two magnets into a position where they repulse is that same as the force released as they repulse. So each pair of magnets is the "resistance" I'm referring two. Build a simple model with two magnets and you can actually measure what I'm saying. Additional magnets merely smooths out the effect but.
@LiamXaoh If that is the case then you should be able to identify a point that resists the rotation. All planetary gears follow the same magnetic path.
@teslacult - if you had just two magnets equilibrium would be easy to define. As you increase the number of magnets then equilibrium can be almost any where but I'd says it would be roughly equal the sum of the poles that come into close contact. Any engineering errors would favour the closest attracting pairs so I'd suggest if you spun it by hand a few hundred times it would favour a few or one pair.
@teslacult The Perendev motor is a hoax. No one has given one over for testing. Sometimes they'll "show you a working model" but they won't let you mess with it (because you'd be able to find out where they hid the batteries...)
There is nothing wrong with drawing and fantasizing about these sorts of perpetual motion devices. It's entirely OK. Every kid has to try this. I did when I was little and it was a great experience. To see WHY they don't work (for yourself) is a beautiful thing.
@diedaily11 Well, I always thought my design was more similar to the Searle motor than the perendev. To be scientific, noone really knows if it will or will not work until it is tested. To assume that it will not work is not scientific at all regardless of any "laws" of thermodynamics. Just because we don't understand where the energy comes from doesn't mean it's not there.
@teslacult Absolutely. Build it. One way or the other you can't go wrong with that attitude. If you build it, and it works, or it doesn't work, that's science. The point is that you rock because you are actually going to build it. Otherwise, you'd be one of those vacuous little cultists that has never used, and probably will never use, a soldering iron. I salute you as a fellow seeker. But do make sure you really build it. If it works, PLEASE LET ME TEST IT!!!!! Good luck, bro. It's win-win.
@diedaily11 Thanks you. I hope that I can build it someday. If it does work, my intent is to share it with everyone. This cultist keeps his soldering iron hot.
@teslacult the only trick to making this work, really, is a 'throttle' control that will alter the dwell (inter-relational timing) of the idler gear-sets mag packs, this is necessary when breaking the threshold of self sustained (perpetual) movement to actual over-unity 'free' power production,,,, Yes, take note of that kids ;)

YOU MUST try with more than 1 ring and also changing the numbers to 12 in the first ring, 24 in the second one and so on, that could work.
