They both have the ranges for each others parts (which is ridiculous). However, I think they're tone and personalities fit the roles they played. Megan has a really sweet tone when she belts high and it doesn't really suit Elphaba. Shoshana just seems more Elphaba-ish. I feel like she's acts a bit offbeat which would kind of conflict with Glinda's conventionality, especially at the beginning of the show.

I dont know the exact Voice Ranges of SHoshana Bean and Megan Hilty but based on Vocal Experience ive had... Megan Hilty would be in the 2nd Soprano Range and Shoshana would be in the Mezzo Soprano Range...

Oh... my God. Megan singing Defying Gravity... kind of AWESOME. The transition was spectacular, but he performed fantastically. Disappointing she didn't sing "tell them how I/am defying gravity," but she did a fantastic job! These two are hilarious, but I really do get a kick out of Megan. "Rain..." and the start of INTG.
