Lead and fluoride are both natural occurring elements, once they are in the water table you can't filter them out, they BOND to the hydrogen and oxygen that make up the water itself. Remember the old Britta filters, how after a while they would get that red gunge in the white basket portion? All that that gunge was was copper particles that had eroded from the water pipes. They tested hundreds of Britta filters in hundreds of houses, the newer the house the less deposits were found in the basket. Why? Because the pipes were newer! It astounds me the amount of money that companies have made from fear mongering over the years.

what do you think that big bulky water bottle(the one with the tap water in it) is made of? huh? studies say that water bottle takes quadruple(4 times) as much plastic than the regular bottle. So, yeah. Not so smart you thought you were, huh? Plus, you should know those lines by heart since you are a bulky water bottle user instead of looking down at your paper you had there.

The quality of tap water depends on where you are at and what the source is. Where I live, the water comes from the Mississippi River and is filtered very well by our city water company. I actually prefer it over bottled water. However, I have been to other places, such as Southern Texas where their water source is the Rio Grande river. The tap water tastes awful. The Rio Grande is one nasty river.

Why not buy a Brita? It'll save you money in the long run if you want purity. It won't get rid of any of the chemicals in the water... but if anyone's afraid of chemicals in the tap water, what's stopping anyone from putting those same chemicals in your bottled water? If there's some kind of "conspiracy" involving tap water (which some seem to believe), it definitely extends to bottled water.

Oh, too much fluoride is actually bad for your teeth though. Dental Fluorosis looks pretty disgusting.

i didn't know about dental fluorosis. i do know, however, that if not for the fluoride in tap water, you would probably need to buy fluoride supplements to keep your teeth healthy. the stuff in toothpastes is not enough.

i drink tap water but don't you know people flush drugs down the toilet and in the sink and then the water is recycled and the tap water still has traces of the drugs in it and who knows what else and bottle water is alot more purified and filtered then tap water

Reallyy good Arguments and they r true.. But I dont know if you mention.. Tape water get checked 3 times a day for any impurities and other stuffs. But How abt the bottle water. do u know when water of ur bottle was checked last time before it was filled???
