Pfft. If the Simpsons really wanted fuel efficiency, they wouldn't've gotten an Automatic. 5 Speed you would've gotten a few more miles a gallon on the highway... XD... ;)
@hdang555 Oh hush, you're ruining the joke! :D But thanks for telling me; I always thought they were either made in Japan, California, or in South America.
@zomgthesoftness: You're still right about at least two things though! That car in the commercial was probably made in America and globalization really does move in mysterious ways.
@mardeninthegarden So toyota wants to sell their cars in canada so they want to use an american cartoon show.So they pick the simpsons so they have to call matt groening and the people who write the simpsons to have permission to make the commercial. Then the writers send info to the korean company who animates the show. And then they final proof it here in america. then they have to translate it into many languages. Then they can send it to different countries...

It's a canadian commercial, (Quebec) in french (french of Quebec, not really a same to in France)
In France we have use the simpsons for a car commercial but it was a Renault Kangoo (typically french)
I've never see a corolla like that's in France (in europe corolla is a compact car like VW golf)

So...a Japanese product made in America uses characters from an American animated series to sell cars to French speakers in Canada.
Huh. Globalization. It moves in mysterious ways.

@zomgthesoftness: Toyota Corollas sold in Canada by dealers in Canada have been built in Canada since 1988.
