@elmattavision I'm going nuts with the hissing sound on my Fender XD SuperChamp. Have you experienced this? If so, how did you resolve it? I can't hear any hissing on your vid. Jeez, this is maddening.
@PetersJunta There is a group called "Fourplay" that plays stuff that kind of sounds like this... more so when Lee Ritenour was the guitar player. I think Larry Carlton might be playing with them now. It's kind of funny. On their own I much prefer Larry Carlton, however in the context of the group Fourplay I thought Ritenour fits better. The genre would be called "Smooth Jazz" or "Contemporary Jazz" I have even heard it refereed to as "Jacuzzi Jazz"
@MrBadAssBoy123 The same thing occurred to me on my sherry II. I brought the guitar to a local shop and they told me to arm myself with a paperclip and a lot of patience. then at home I bent the paperclip and put one of the ends in the hole and after about 15 minutes of null tries I managed to hook the piece and then i lifted it in the proper position. finally I slipped the bolt (I hope you have preserved it) from the top of the paperclip and screwed it to the piece forever. it worked!
Just FYI, you can buy after market gold covers and just literally push them down over the top, it ended up being a nice tight fit with no tonal difference when I did it to my SD pearly Gates PU's. Gotta say that beautiful guitar looks awful with uncovered PU's. Nice Playing! I think I'm going to go with Seth Lovers in my next 335 purchase. 59's sound good as well though...
@ImaMacyouraPc - The pickups are still humbuckers just a different brand. I changed the pickups because I wanted to be able to play a few different styles using the same guitar. These pickups can retain the Jazz tone while giving me some options that the stock pickups did not. If you check out one of my other vids, I use the same exact guitar and cover a U2 song. To play the melody/solo I used more of a rock tone and I thought it worked really well.
I'm looking into buying a sheraton. And browsing youtube for people playing one to hear and see it realisticly I stumbled on your channel. Very Very Very nice. I absolutely love it. I would like to go deeper in Jazz but I can't seem to find a lot of tutorials on it. For example I love the background loop and I don't think it would be that hard to play. I'm just not finding stuff like this in tutorial form.
Very Very nice work. I must've listened to this a 100 times at work.
I didn't think the stock pickups were bad. Actually, in some respects, I prefer the stock pickups for a clean jazz tone. However, I didn't like how the stock pickups sounded with overdrive. I thought it sounded a little thin with too much high end and I couldn't fix it with the tone knob. The current pickups, SD 59's sound fantastic with overdrive and I can get a good jazz tone from them as well.
Great , thnks, i will. consider this pickups then. And by the way, whats ure opinion about the guitar? I Just bought it , so im still getting to know it.. Do u think it sounds as good a other semi hollowbody?

Hi guys, I have a problem.
The input jack on my sheraton II has somehow fallen in to the body of the guitar, any suggestions on how I should fix it?

Really great tune and guitar, my friend! do you use flatwound strings and the sheraton pick ups, or is it another pick up? thank you very much !
BeatBay 1 year ago
why on earth would you change the pick-ups from humbuckers to single-coil on a JAZZ guitar?
great player though, respect.

I have an Epiphone Sheraton II w/ stock p/ups. I get a great rock sound out of it. Check out my cover of SRV's Pride and Joy.

For the price I think it is a fantastic buy and would buy it again. I've heard good things about the Ibanez semi-hollows but I have never tried one.
