  • It's called soccer because it's for suckers haha. There's only one football (The NFL's one) and it's the best sport in the world !

  • What a game!

  • The MLS is RUBISH

  • @Hitmonchan107 @jazzx251 Signing a 30+yo MLS player on a 2 month loan deal is just out of desperation. The only reason Arsenal signed Henry is due to injuries. All hes doing is playing as an impact player off the bench, not playing a full 90. Whether or not they are good players i didnt state. What i did state though is they ARE approaching the end of their careers and the MLS is where the majority of players go to end their career because its not as tough as other leagues and still pays good.

  • For a team to have the title "Real", means that the Spanish Monarch had to support that team, example (Real Madrid). When did the King of Spain bless Salt Lake City, Utah? lol Liverpool F.C has been nicked name "THE REDS" since 1892, Toronto F.C has been stealing the name since what 2006? what a rip off of old tradtions. And why do teams have F.C in there name when North America calls it SOCCER? Non-sense

  • @alexhendrick709 To sound more seriously. Kansas City were nicknamed "The Wizards" but later on renamed themselves as "Sporting". Salt Lake was never given any monarch royalties but are announced as Real Madrid's "sister club" and have sporadic friendlies due to their name. It's a method the MLS is using to attract non-American football (soccer) fans to make themselves a noteworthy league outside of the United States as well as becoming the 5th major league in US and Canada.

  • @nike2376 sorry mate but by the way it's looking the MLS is a retirement league for premier league players. In a positive light you get well known players though.

  • @TheCFCSupporter And yet Arsenal has Theirry.

  • @TheCFCSupporter

    au contraire!

In the off-season, these pros go back to their clubs on short-term contracts.

Landon Donavan - on loan at the moment to Everton FC (English Premier League)

Thierry Henry - on loan to his old club Arsenal, and scored a goal within 10 minutes of re-appearing (English Premier League)

  • Not too keen on how they've incorporated playoffs and championships to football instead of the regular top of the league wins it way.

  • im british and i quite enjoyed that! to be honest, most people need to calm down about the MLS- i for one am happy that footall is growing over there...however, it is football- not soccer

  • @Themesticks Australia, New Zealand, most of East Asia, and South Africa also call it Soccer.

  • @Headcheezonium and that means.... what, should it be called soccer? england invented the sport! thats like i start calling basketball 'hoopball'- every else calling it that, then claiming that it is actually called 'hoopball' because the majority says so!!!

  • @Themesticks The word "Soccer" Started in England at Oxford and was wildly used in England until the NASL got big and it was incorrectly linked to the USA. The English need to learn about their own sport.

  • @Headcheezonium sheffield FC= the oldest official club in the world... FC- it contains the rules of football headed- "The official rules, regulations and laws of the sheffield football club"... so it was officially called football when first invented in 18-somthing

  • @Themesticks I know it was originally called football, But the word "Soccer" is an ENGLISH word that many countries use today, yet everyone uses it as an excuse to hate on the USA for the sake of hating on the USA.

  • @Headcheezonium What should we call the football that US and Canada plays though? Maybe Gridiron Rugby? Crash Rugby? You know, a proper name that other countries can call it without adding the suffix "American" or "Canadian".

  • @Hitmonchan107 Well, It's called Football in the first place because it has it's roots to Rugby Football, So I don't see why it should be changed. The Europeans need to learn that there are several sports called "Football" and that name refers to whatever is the most popular in the area. Like Australia and NZ call Rugby Football "Football" and Association Football "Soccer. We call American Football "Football" and Association Football "Soccer". It's just localization.

  • @Headcheezonium But it's not really rugby though, but I see your point.

I would, however, find it funny if the NBA surpasses the NFL in popularity one day. Basketball is technically a form of football as well.

  • @Headcheezonium you speek english... what has english got to do with this? you speek the same language as me? do i have the right to use the word 'football' and not you because it comes from england? People don't hate on america- your so proud of your country you cannot take 'banter'

  • @Themesticks Well, here's the ironic twist. Your lot named sports like soccer and rugby as well as other sports with the umbrella term "football" to differ them from horseback sports. Even though I'm not fond of American Football it DOES have some right to be called that, and since it's the most popular sport in US and Canada, association football has to be referred to as "soccer". Besides, you guys coined the term "soccer".

  • @Hitmonchan107 football/horseball- who cares? im not concered with mobb-ball in medievil england 600 years ago- it was officially called football, so that's its official name. I understand A. Football has the right, as it evolved from rugby which comes from old-school rugby/football. England did phrase most english words until other counties spoke english... so it wouldnt supprise me that the origan of an english word is england....

  • the commentators say to salt lake at the penaltys somewhere suckers you suck your language especially

  • pegi 18

  • Mls is a retirement league

  • @Killcams4u2 You are an idiot who doesn't know anything about football.

  • @Killcams4u2 And here come the ignorant English! This should be fun!

  • @flamingcock

What if i said: Fucking brits it's Over Time!

It's over time because extra time is when the ref decides how many minutes is left in the half because of penalties

  • @PhilliesPhanPhorever noo nooob. extra time occurs after knockout stages; injury time/stoppage time is where time wasted when the game isnt playing is added onto the end

  • @PhilliesPhanPhorever Extra time and overtime are the same thing. The time you have mistook for "extra time" is actually injury time AKA aggregate, the minutes added by the fourth referee to compensate for the lost time during each halve.

  • Lol look at the baby at 7:37 she is so scared and she is like what the hell is happening!

  • beckham looks like a chicken lol

  • Beautiful! RSL win it again this year!

  • YAYYYYYYYYYY!!! whoa~! what cup is this again?

  • wow just like Americans to call extra time overtime

  • @ImTwixtorXD Who fucking cares?

  • Overtime? Fucking Amercians IT'S EXTRA TIME

  • @FlamingCog It's OverTime. Deal with it. It's a term that helps aid soccer (football if you insist) in getting the fans familiarized with terms other major sports in America use.

  • I miss those old RSL uniforms. They're so much better than the all-red.

  • We got it this year let's go LA! Beck's final year just like he did in Madrid, will get us the title.

  • Hey i am from germany and do you know bayer leverkusen?^^and how many people are in your stadions?

  • @meisterkusen04 Some teams have 10,000, some teams have 40,000.

  • @meisterkusen04 The average is about 20,000. But there are some that reach 40,000.

  • I love that it was at C Link field :) I love our stadium :)

  • @Xxcristiano7x thank you captain obvious...mls has been around since 1996, so cut us some slack...plus, our country hasn't "accepted" the sport yet, unless it's the world cup

  • yh of course

  • @Xxcristiano7x Eurotrash football is all about the money. It's full of diving, cheating and Corruption. But hey, If that's how you like sports, Enjoy watching your EPL you stupid glory-hunter!

  • Euro football got ronaldo and messi :P :P :P

  • @Xxcristiano7x Both of which are paid insane amounts of money to roll on the ground with a fake injury. I can't stand Euro Football.

  • Comment removed

  • i have to tell you manchester united won seattle sounders 7-0

  • @Xxcristiano7x They beat Seattle's b-team 7-0. And considering the results that Man U is putting up in the EPL right now, I don't think it's such a big deal. They beat ARSENAL 8-2. A bigger win then any of the MLS teams.

  • yh so how about real madrid beat los angles galaxy 4-0 ronaldo scored hatrick againts them

  • @Xxcristiano7x Real Madrid beat Zargoza 6-0 and beat Rayo Vallecano 6-2. Does that mean La Liga is a crappy league?

  • this is nub teams at la liga but los angles is cool u cant compare LA and viiarial and valncia and malaga and athltico madrid and athltic bilbao

  • this is nub teams at la liga but los angles is a good to team for mls but u cant compare LA to viiarial or valncia or malaga or athltico madrid or athltic bilbao

  • @Xxcristiano7x what point are you trying to prove by constantly bashing the mls? no one ever said it was as good as la liga have they? your comparing a 16 year old to one that been around over 100 years how is that even fair? for god sakes not every league in the world is as good as la liga in case you didn't notice asshole

  • fuck you who said tht i just said mls is good

  • @Xxcristiano7x It's valencia not valncia if you're going to say a team is good learn how to spell it.

  • @sandmapple he forgot one e...not a big deal asshole

  • the ref can tell someone to go off when he is injured?

  • @FavreianVengeance its the final, winner take all, so of course they're not playing on either team's turf, it would'nt be fair

  • @chronicvision420 i wouldn't worry about it..... england gave football to the world, the world took it and 30 years later shown england how it should be played.... i'm from the uk and love watching the mls

  • @slapmyfunkybass Thanks. We love the EPL as well. I'm a Manchester City fan... well, more like bandwagoner. >.>

  • i'm from the uk and love watching the mls... i read somewhere it's overtaken nhl to become the 4th most popular sport in the us

  • So much of a better game then the '10 final!!!

  • football is so different across the pond. haha. just kicking and kicking and kicking..

but it's dramatic. :) love american football

  • @philmoeful um...thank you for your...half-compliment lol :D

  • @philmoeful American Football? Be more specific.

  • How f'ing stupid is MLS - The Galaxy had the best record and do they play the game in LA? No. Not even Salt Lake. F'ing Seattle. Way to reward the fans IDIOTS.

  • @FavreianVengeance of course they played it in a different place! they played it in a neutral place so not only one set of fans would be happy! lmao

  • @CashSmeller

So instead of making 1 set of fans happy, you make zero sets of fans happy? That makes no sense. Just do home field advantage. It's not the freaking Super Bowl. You can feel the lack of energy on that field. It's ridiculous and its bad for soccer and the teams fans.

  • @FavreianVengeance i see where you're coming from, but it really wouldn't be fair to the fans, in my opinion

  • @CashSmeller

It's totally fair. Team with the best record gets home field advantage. That's how they do it in sports. MLS needs to cut out this neutral field bs for their biggest games.

  • @FavreianVengeance "in sports'? you mean like the NFL who has the Super Bowl in a neutral field?

  • @CashSmeller Leagues like Mexico's Primera Division have two legged finals. The 2nd leg is played on the stadium of the team with the better regular season results.

Also, doesn't the MLB play in home advantage stadiums as well during the World Series?

  • @FavreianVengeance MLS Cup 2012 will be held on the home of whoever wins the Supporter's Shield so don't be so hostile.

  • The fact that RSL thinks they are beter then all the outher teams, is cinda funny cus they SUCK BALLS, also there cheater. FUCK YOU SALT LAKE!!!!

  • I CANT BELIEVE DONOVAN MISSED!

  • 2:10 looks like the aid is looking at rickets balls~

  • I'm from Seattle, and I lightly followed the Sounders in 2009. I was pretty skeptical of soccer. Then, I went to this game, wound up in the RSL support section, and got hooked the the MLS. Never looked back. Sounders FTW.

  • @rockslideproductions i'm cheering for the sounders this year because of kasey keller...i live in the southeast, but dang he deserves some kind of cup! it's his last year and he wants to win it, and he deserves it!

  • They should have stopped the game when the goalkeeper was injured... Silly ref.

  • @cmazarini thanks man i wish the MLS would get more support us americans just need to give it a chance and we'll love it. i know i do

  • MIKE MAGEE!!!!!

  • RSL! RSL! RSL!

  • Dude I LOVE the MSL...nice stuff you got there!

  • @chronicvision420 Why europeans???We in Europe are over 50 countries:D

  • man, I want so much fans in the swiss stadiums :(

respect to the MLS, great League !

  • I'm from Germany we have the better league, clubs and player but i love the US commentator,:P, more emotions

  • @Chas10691 I'm american and i consider that a joke.

  • @igniteignato well you havent heard german commentators :D

  • I think football in America would be more interesting if it had players like messi and cristiano Ronaldo (idk about this fag) but yea I guess you would need a Ronaldo in mls I mean no disrespect to mls players but if u see an mls game and see either an Epl or Liga bbva game u clearly can tell which is more entertaining

  • @420ojack Messi in MLS? That's a dream that won't come true. Barcelona has more money than the richest team in America regardless of sport, in this case, the Dallas Cowboys.

  • for God sake take the mic out of the net!

  • im really glad football finally started to develop in the USA. the next is canada xD

  • they need a guatemala guy

  • Deserved to win....

  • thx a lot for posting this.

  • I can't understand what team is the crowd behind the penalti goals supporting. People just don't react effusively like in Europe. Anyway, I'm glad US football (or soccer) is developing and growing every year. Cheers from Portugal :)

  • Sorry I missed some words, it's hard keeping up with three consecutive comments.

  • its called extra time you mong !

  • Donovan is one of your best players. Hahaha he couldn't even handle Everton!

  • those teams have bad defense communication

  • ps: it's coll to see lots of people in the stadium. Americans are really turning to the beautifull sport, despite some douchebags that come around with comments towards it like "GAY! or FAKE!"

yeah, MLB is soooo intense. Watch out cause you can have a cardiac arrest watching baseball.....LOOL LMFAO

  • holy shit that was intense

  • beckham is a douche

  • DAMN GOOD MATCH! MLS IS GROWING HEY IF THERE IS NO NFL FOR 2011, THEY SHOULD SHOW MLS GAMES ON FOX AND CBS! OR AT LEAST RUGBY, I DON'T KNOW JUST A THOUGHT!

  • the MLS have a shit load of black goalkeepers lol im england its rare to see.

  • i find that the mls is more entertaining to watch compared to the premier league...maybe that's because the mls doesn't dive like crazy...? i mean, sure, they dive a little bit, but the game stops only every once in a while, where the premier league is literally about 45 seconds at a time before someone dives!

  • @CashSmeller courtesy of forein player i.e italian lol english players 99% of the time do not dive, its frowned upon.

  • one more thing to say to all you people hating on the mls: MLS PLAYERS DON'T SEEM TO DIVE NEARLY AS MUCH AS PEOPLE IN THE FRICKIN' PREMIER LEAGUE!

  • @welcometourf, they just hate it 'cause we don't call it football...you know what i have to say to them? IT'S NOT WANKER, IT'S DICK!!!!

  • I'm an Australian and i love the MLS. It is great to see such entertaining matches and passionate football fans in the US. Stuff American 'football' MLS all the way!!

  • @Roarlover34 I think that the A-League is a much more entertaining league than the MLS.

  • @Roarlover34

I'm American and I love thw Australian A-League

  • @Roarlover34 watch european leagues if u want to see good football...

  • @Schwonz17 um...yeah, it may be good, but i'd rather not watch people diving for 90 mins...i'd rather watch people score

  • @CashSmeller I find it funny that most American non-soccer/anti-soccer sports fans bash it for the dives and theatrics but never watch the MLS. Maybe it's because the MLS players are too determined to make soccer relevant to America they'll brush off even the hardest hits and continue playing.

  • @Schwonz17 MLS may not be the best, But at least the players have passion here. In Europe, It's all about the money. The rich clubs win every single year while the rest have no chance and no future. It sucks.

  • wow what a crazy game

  • How unexpected, Donovan missed that penalty, and LA would lose another Cup, I was disappointed :(

  • I'm from argentina, and here we probably never watch MLS. It's a very good league. I love it.

  • MLF, right?

  • @geasylagos93 Yes, that right there is the best comment I've seen on a football video relating to the MLS of all time, rename the sport to its real name!! Rename American Football to Rugby!!!

  • It's not soccer, it's football.

  • @FalconBoxe You know a brit coined the term soccer, right?

  • I would thank those who don't live in the United States but still wish the MLS well! We need more foreign respect in order to grow our league to what we hope to be a real competitor for top class talent.

  • who was shocked that FC Dallas defeated both these teams in one playoff

  • @Herb615 didnt notice that haha..but of course they lose to colorado :/

  • @halo3gamerking

    :( sadly yes

  • you got to wonder if the mls is staged, i mean, we all know soccer isn't the most popular sport in the us

  • European soccer in america gets way more attention compared to the mls because we americans realize how many people care over in Europe. Many americans are following Europe's leagues now, but the mls's popularity over the years has gone down if anything

  • @hanstermovies soccer has no attention in the U.S.. This game didn't even make the sportscenter highlghts that day. I love European soccer as an American, and i can honestly say the mls is one of the worst and most boring leagues in the world.

  • @jpsuperstarbb if you say the MLS is one of the worst leagues in the world you don't shit about football, MLS is on par with leagues in Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Poland, or Japan....the vast majority of professional leagues around the world are much worse than MLS

  • @pem82sox Euhmm you should scrap Belgium out of it man ;) don't say things you don't even knw about!

  • @Makemyday242 it is true though...clubs like Anderlecht and Brugge are wealthier and better than any clubs in the MLS, but other belgian clubs like Lokeren, Charleroi, Lierse, and Westerlo are worse than any MLS clubs...MLS is a very even league, there is not much difference between the best and worst teams

  • @pem82sox EPL, La Liga and top leagues have repetitive champions whereas the MLS doesn't. You're right about the MLS teams being equal in levels but it's due to having a lot of players that are either green or still playing at a semi-professional level.

  • mls needs to put the east and west conferences together it as one league , makes it better to watch

  • @JIMIHENDS They could but won't. It's one of those Americanization elements that US fans can familiarize with on a sport overshadowed by national sports and pasttimes.

  • its good for the MLS that players like Beckham is featured in the league it certainly attracts possive attitude towards youth in the US and hopefully encourage them to become like such player(s)

  • I miss Yura. He was such a good player.

  • and how did he got on his feet?

with a broken leg you can't go

  • its kinda boring. but its a rising league they'll get better or stay the same btw this finally was way better than this years fucking boring game no lie. these goals were cool and the colorado ones were disgusting

  • omg!

    only pussys in mls?

in european soccer nobody looks at scenes like 2:07 or 0:30

  • @1erdling1 You fucking moron he broke his leg at 0:30 i was fucking there and my brother played

  • EPIC match! As a spectator, you really couldn't ask for anything more. And as an RSL fan, you couldn't have dreamed of such a good outcome. Too bad we couldn't make a deeper run than we did this year.

  • man . . . . imagine making that winning penalty kick . . . blows my mind!

  • I wish that yura movsisyan will come back to real salt lake because he made rsl champions.Plus real salt lake couldnt get in the semi final this year because their was no yura movsisyan

  • The USA are the best country to live if you´re a sports fan like me. It's simply gracious. Soccer has this problem of not assuring the thrill and excitement (some games can be really boring), but no one puts a show like you, americans. Greetings from Portugal.

  • the game by far was the most intense championship games ever, almost every 5 minutes both sides had chances there was a lot more highlights then this video showed, last year i became a true fan of rsl in july of 09 when they beat america 1-0 and that was amazing game and goal by javier morales. then 4 months later they amazed and made me believe in something that i havent felt ever. that anyone can win and even the closet ones to home can become something, this game is a classic

  • i like it how they film the penalties. i don't think they do that in europe.

  • @TheKrismak No, they do film penalty's like that in the big matches, sometimes you get 1 pen taking from that angle, but usually its just stand angles and this would be the reply in big matches where the stadiums can have a camera like that. European football just focuses on football nothing else when it comes down to it. Watch the Champions league final united v chelsea, AND THAT HAD TENSION, i remember crying, screaming to joy all in 20 seconds

  • MLS soon will be among the best leagues in the world. From Spain . Hala Madridd!!

  • I wish i can win the MLS Cup for Toronto FC one day!!

  • Love every minute of it. GO RSL!!!!

  • Love every minute of it. GO RSL!!!

  • You Europeans bashing the MLS is a waste of breath. Of course the MLS is WAY behind top foreign leagues, you're repeating the obvious. All leagues had to start somewhere.. Americans don't laugh at foreign basketball leagues for being sub-par to the NBA, they like new countries adopting bball because it ultimately makes for a more competitive global sport.

Just be glad when more people get into the sport, whatever country it is. It's good for the game of football/soccer.

  • @welcometourf you are definitly right! I wish the best for american football, sorry i mean soccer :) From France

  • @welcometourf Spoken like a true sportsman. I couldn't have said it better. And some of us, europeans, can't even talk too much because some leagues really suck. I live in Portugal and our national league is a complete crap. I wish it had twice the show and spirit in which the USA lives sport. Carry on :D

  • @welcometourf exactly i hate motherfuckers hating on canadians and americans for loving soccer...if you compare to where mls has gotten to where foreign countrys basketball leagues are....mls much more successsfull.

  • @welcometourf why do you play into their hands? im from england, and im watching this here and i see REAL progress. mls USED to be a micky mouse league, but your starting to take it more seriously, and your players are really getting better. the youtube trolls who say ''usa soccer SUCKS!'' are people who are nerds, who cant play the game themselves, and are pissed because your not as bad as your reputation makes out. just IGNORE them because english football fans dont think your bad.

  • @welcometourf agreed..im european :)

  • @welcometourf agreed..the MLS is still better than my league tho its much younger

  • @welcometourf

best comment I've seen today. Personally, I'm an happy European for watching the beautiful sport evolving in the US. The more global it gets, the more amazing it becomes.

    NY Red Bulls btw !

  • @welcometourf plus rsl is in the conacuf or whatever championship

  • @welcometourf It was more likely an ignorant, unintelligent Eurosnob. That statement you replied was too intelligent and used to many big words for a eurosnob to understand such as "subpar" or "good".

  • @welcometourf It's great that you americans are starting to understand the true beauty of real football and that your league is growing. However the problem is you are americanizing it! It's not even a league, there are conferences and there's a fucking playoff at the end of the season! It's like the NHL or something! You can't do anything like the rest of the world.

Also team names like "New York Red Bulls".. I mean what the fuck.. come on!

  • @DaMetalboi Whoa there, you started out good, but ended up really bad. I agree, a New York club with the same name as an energy drink is idiotic, but it's not like the Europeans have ****** up American football! You skipped right over the playoffs, and practically didn't have a schedule. I never watched a game, but I could tell it stunk. Troy Aikman (who you probably don't even know) called some of the games, and was put through an hour and thirty minutes of suffering. We can't do anything like

  • @DaMetalboi of the world? The U.S. is the most powerful country in the world, and we could prove it at anytime. We just don't choose to, because we're not like that. What's the most popular sport in Europe? Soccer. It seems that people seem to be stuck with that. America has diversity, we have NBA, NFL, PGA, NHL, MLS (obviously), MLB, NASCAR, IRL, not to mention college sports. There are tons more that have originated from other continents, and we actually support them. So would it kill you to
