  • WHEN THE DREAM CAME , I HELD MY BREATH WITH MY EYES CLOSED , WORDS TO LIVE BY FROM THE PASTURE RICHIE RICH FURY

  • so perfect

  • THATS ME SCREAMING AT NEIL YOUNG FROM STAGE RIGHT --- " HEY NEIL YOU DUM SON OF A CANADIAN WHORE , TURN IT UP " !!!

  • pure timeless magic

  • I WATCH AND LISTEN TO THIS PERFORMANCE --- EVERYDAY --- ITS LIKE TAKING A BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD --- VITAMIN

  • Ah Richie Furay. He made this sad and beautiful song sound almost happy, like he was unburdening himself. What a voice, what a moment! Can't save myself from crying a little.

  • For three guys who haven't performed together in 43 years, this is nothing short of incredible!

  • @echo962 Fortunately, all of them have been performing at least some of these songs in their various bands; Richie with Poco and his own band in recent years; Stephen and Neil with CSNY and their own bands, as well. The summer '11 tour tickets are going for $150 and up on the floor, so get 'em quick.

  • Great to see Richie doing this. He's just having the time of his life, God bless him.

  • Beautiful song!

  • I love the interplay, respect and poking that goes on between musicians.

    Especially this bunch.

Could this have been how they really wanted to do this song back then ?

Flat out each guiding it just when the other one runs out or gets lost.

Pushing the trust it takes to stop driving for a minute, be driven and enjoy the ride.

  • @journey46 - Nice sentiment but frankly it's all Richie here...the linchpin of the Springfield sound. Vastly superior to all that CSNY nonsense.

  • @MrDavearama What a stupid comment.

  • @Inspector711 Wow ... you're right. What an incredibly idiotic thing to say. Furay, we love, but denounce CSNY? The epitome of stupid ...

  • @Inspector711 -Fuck off. CSN sound always pretty much sucked, Not the same as Springfield

    or Poco for that matter.

  • @MrDavearama Yes because Poco really had the success of CSN&Y or CSN, you Muppet.

  • I started playing guitar and singing so I could do these Neil Young songs.

Great to see these guys back on stage.

  • Check Stephen all suited up looking like he's applying for a job. Dress down

Steve, you got the gig, no problem. Man, they sound good.

  • Richie sounds better than ever. Unbelievable

  • After 43 years of listening to their vinyl, I wondered how they could have ever sounded better. The answer came at Shoreline. They were incredibly tight & bright! We in the packed audience didn't care that we were being rained on; we were in the presence of greatness!

  • WHEN THE DREAM CAME , I HELD MY @#$%^ WITH MY EYES CLOSED , AND @#$%^*&BATED THINKING ABOUT THAT HOT BITCH AT THE STOP N SHOP

  • NOW THAT I THINK OF IT , I THINK NEIL IS PLAYING TONIGHT IN SAN FRANCISCO , A CHARITY EVENT F0R A CHILDRENS HOSPITAL , I CANT AFFORD THE 5000 BUCK TICKETS !!

  • CHRIST , I'VE SEEN NEIL AT MY FAVORITE BURRITO PALACE --- HIS BIG BLACK 50'S BUICK PARKED OUTSIDE --- JUST A REGULAR JOE ENJOYING A COMBINATION PLATTER !!

  • I SAW THE HERD AT THE CONTINENTAL BALLROOM IN SAN JOSE , 1967 ? --- THEY OPENED FOR COUNTRY JOE AND FISH

  • YEAH STILLS LOOKED GREAT --- HE LOOKED LIKE A FUNERAL DIRECTOR DRESSED HIM !!! --- NO MORE DRUGS 4 YOU STEVEY !!!

  • There is a God, The Herd is Reunited and it sounds so good! Stills looks so groovy.

  • There is a God, The Herd is Reunited and it sounds so good!

  • THATS ME CHEERING , I CAN HEAR ME , CHEERING WHEN RICHIE STARTED TO SING , IT WAS TOO MUCH TO TAKE , LIKE COMING ON TO SOME BLUE CHEER DOUBLE DOME ACID , I'M STILL HALLUCINATING , CAN YOU FEEL IT NOW ???

  • with their schedules and diversities Time fades away. Thank God they had a chance to get it together...please let us not forget Dewey and Bruce...the drivin' force. To sing the blues...you got to pay the dues.....................................and carry on. Credos to a great chardonney..my bad.

  • Thank you ZUrlocker...I am just so loving this. What a night it must have been! I notice Neil's sportin' the Guild..another change, or just runnin' with Le Noise vibe?

  • Thank you ZUrlocker...I am just so loving this. What a night it must have been! I notice Neil's sportin' the Guild..I know it's Daniel's influence..but nontheless he could make a broomstick ring.

  • A wonderful Rock & Roll moment captured, Great job !!!!!

  • I love it when people who have never met someone feel empowered to comment on their validity based on some half assed rumor, preconceived notion, or just plain venal stupidity. If you enjoy the music, listen, and please just shut the fuck up.

  • Richie Furay is great !

  • I SAW THIS SHOW AND DIDNT HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE AT THE URINALS CUZ I QUIT DRINKING LAST CENTURY !!!

  • ECHO IS FULL OF BAT-SHIT --- RICHIE IS A BRAINWASHED JESUS-FREAK WITH A BRAIN CONSISTING OF LIME-JELLO -- STEPHEN IS A SAINT COMPARED TO REVERAND FURAY !!!

  • Charlotia you need to lighten up ! I'm a huge Neil young fan. In my opinion he's one of the most pivotal figures in rock history, and this is one of my favorite Neil Young compositions. As for Stephen Stills, he's a legendary jerk! It's taken over 40 years for Ritchie Furay to agree to get on a stage with him again. That should tell you something! But with as much animosity as exists between these individuals. when they make music together it's magic!!

  • I SAW THE HERD IN 1965 , LOUIES DEW DROP INN ON SUNSET , THEY WERE PLAYING FOR FREE DRINKS

  • @JohnNorthWillys You sure you saw them in '65? I thought that the legendary traffic jam on Sunset Blvd didn't happen until 1966.

  • RICHIE IS GOING TO READ THIS AND SEND YOU ALL TO --- HELL !! --- HES AN ORDAINED MINISTER AND TALKS TO GOD AND DEVIL --- REGULARLY

  • Richie Furay looks and sounds great! 43years has done nothing to diminish his voice. Steve & Neil need to join Weight Watchers!

  • @echo962 your an ass

  • The best American rock & roll band ever! Please keep it rolling guys. You are making dreams come true. .

  • I SAW BEEFALO-SPRINGSTEEN IN 1947 --- OPENING FOR DANNY DAY

  • I saw them in 1967 and it would be GREAT to see a reunion tour in 2011!

  • WHEN THE DREAM CAME , I HELD MY CROTCH WITH MY LEGS CLOSED , I WENT INSANE , AND REACHED FOR ANOTHER 40 OUNCER

  • fine song, very nihilistic. great concert. thanks to everyone involved including mother nature for keeping us alert to puttin on and taking off our panchos and raincoats 40x. the people were wonderful and the music was loud, clear, heartfelt, and colorful.

  • This song is a personal favorite, from way back. A bonus is being able to see the chord positions for the intro. Thanks so much for posting it.

Can we start a groundswell of support for them to take this act on the road?

  • Neil did a version of this as an encore at the Toronto CNE concert bowl on the This Note's For You Tour with the Bluenotes - their horn section recreated the arrangement heard on the original Springfield track. Seventh heaven. And this version is right up there as well.

  • Thanks for posting -- this was so cool.

  • Stephen is so handsome here isn't he? Richie looks good too and sounds great Yes Neil we love you to Long May You Run!!

  • I love this tune by the BS. Thank you so much for sharing!!

  • Sometime things happen that you never, ever thought would. In this case it was just wonderful. Thanks guys, it was worth that wait.

  • What a different feel from when Neil sings this song solo! Richie can still sing well. I love it. Thanks.

  • THIS IS THE SONG THAT OPENED THE SHOW --- FOR THE HERD --- INTERGALACTIC !!!

  • Oh God, This was SUCH a Ridiculously good show. Seriously historic. We were all Captivated. They were sooo good and obviously were loving playing these songs..

  • Historic!! Thanks!!

  • thanks alot

  • This is GREAT! Thanks for posting! Wish I flew up. It far surpasses my expectations. Fantastic. Check out Neil's approving smile at 1:33. Awesome.

  • These were both good..very good relative to many videos that have been posted. I submitted them to No Depression...they've both been approved and should be featured sometime later today....tr

  • Thank You from Toronto for posting!

  • I shot these videos direct from the projection screen seated on the lawn using a Canon G9. Apologies that the sound is not perfect, but still better than I could have hoped. Unfortunately, I just got the 2 Buffalo Springfield songs. I have posted links to other good videos my site guitarvibe com

  • @ZUrlocker Thanks for posting what you got!! It's unbelieveable!!

  • @ZUrlocker Thank you so much for posting these. For the vast majority of us who never saw or will see Springfield in person, this is manna...

  • @ZUrlocker Nice job! A lot of similar things on Youtube turn out bad, but people post them anyway.....

  • Where did this video come from? There are obviously several cameras and it has been edited. Who shot it and is there video of the whole performance?

  • Amazing!

  • YES please mooore :-)

    What a great reunion !!!!!

  • Fantastic!!!

  • Great to see 3/5s of the Buffs (was Palmer off camera ala Hollywood Palace?). Glad to hear that they remember this terrific song which should have been a hit.

  • @harvey1954 Bruce Palmer and Dewey Martin have unfortunately passed away. Really would have been great to see them all back together again but that doesn't take away from this reunion which many of us had thought was never going to happen.

It sure looks like Richie's having a blast!

  • The best!

  • Brilliant!

  • Wonderful! Thank you so much!

  • a pleasant surprise...I want (need) more...

  • Thanks so much for posting.. How great to see the Springfield together again.

    Cheers,

  • Epic reunion!
