I live in the country too. Out of 6 dogs over the years, I have lost a grand total of ZERO to cars/hunters/lawsuits. Meanwhile several neighbors let their dogs run free and 2 were killed by cars, 1 was killed by a hunter, and 1 didn't come back. You lost 2 in a span of 15 or 30 seconds?
They have 5 acres of land to run on that's fenced in with a wire fence and an invisible fence around the borders. None of them have ever dug anything, thanks to proper dog training.

I am surprized Buster didn't jump that fence and go after the deer... My Dobe puppy can jump 7 ft straight up. Doberman's are the best dogs EVER

Thanks all, yes, my dog Buster did come back after the deer jumped a 6 ft fence.
This is a race track place for horses, and Buster grew up running here. I am so sorry to hear you lost your dog!

Well, that's what happens to owners who let their dogs run wild. Invest in an invisible fence, a real fence, or leash walk them.
$60 for an invisible fence, or $300 per dog. Your choice.

did he catch the deer. My dobe did the same thing but the deer got away , but my dog did not listen to me he was wanting the deer really badly
