I made a rule a long time ago: I'll never drive on New Year's Eve. I won't get in a car with anyone else either.

I absolutely refuse to increase my chances of getting hit by a drunk driver.

My daughter was almost killed by one. In fact she was clinically dead for 3 minutes. They would get her heart restarted but kept losing her. Cold weather is the only thing that ultimately saved her.

I still have the MADD ribbon I got after it happened.
