practice enough until you get really fucking good, then buy all the best musical equipment the planet has to offer. The tone lies in the fingers, but a nice custom shop stratocaster, and a Two-Rock wouldn't hurt either.
I just don't think John Mayer has it anymore. That certain touch, excitement, joy, energy that he had in the continuum or where the light is days. In the recent years, a bunch of his well known band members are not in his band anymore, most notably, Steve Jordan and "Dela". I just don't think he has that fire that he used to anymore.
@btrfcounty23 first of all steve jordan is not a tour musician. he is a studio musician and a producer. secondly, Da La went off and did his solo work which is amazing
@robertsfootball74 but he's true. I don't want to have true as well but it is. He lost what he had on the Where The Light Is or with JM Trio and I don't just mean only the CDs, I also mean the TV shows, their not the same anymore...
@btrfcounty23 steve was with him for 1 battle studies tour, and thats all he planned to be... he was in the JM3, which is an entirely different band. Dela, I can agree with his absense being missed, Sean hasnt grown on me quite yet and needs to be a bit more extrovert IMO.
At the same time, actually listen to this thing, without preconcpetions: some of his adlibs and feel are great: the execution might not be quite there (its begining of tour) but the ideas are pouring out. IMO.
love the intro made me laugh out loud but hate the chorus he was singing. and frankly, this has to be my least fav continuum song cause i mean there is so much more that we can do than just wait for something to change...
Awesome tribute to our troops! Great to know that hes not a mindless brainwashed anti-war hippie like so many good artists are. I completely respect this and it gave me chills
I wish I could publicly speak like John does.

a friend of my said it and i quote:
"seems like he's been covering his own songs".
that, to me, as a long term JM fan, is his reality nowadays. it makes me sad.
