Don't have to see the lips move to know they are communicating with each other. A computer only has it's programming, no imagination or brush stroke. No matter what medium, even cgi, the writing must come first, or it's crap! But I think you're right, kids need to be given credit for their developing ability to fill in the details with their own personal sense of what should be, not inferior graphics.

@turtledude6431 And since then Edward seems to have almost faded out of existence, altogether :/ They still had a lot of characters beforehand - they were just usually minor characters that lasted two episodes. Struggling to remember her name... but there was a female green diesel that was designed like a bus (driver and passenger compartments all in one engine) and didn't really like anyone and felt that shunting was degrading. She lasted like two episodes. I also haven't seen "Diesel" either.

I'll miss the models. I hate CGI. It kills off some of the most creative techniques of filmmaking. Today all kids shows are cheap CGI or cheap drawn animation. Thomas was distinguished because it had detailed models and scenics, but now it's like every other kids show. Cheap, uninspiring CGI.

Thomas was definetly the best when Ringo narrated. Many of the early episodes with Angelis were great too.

to tell you the truth, you cant really blame them for making everything more modern, otherwise, there wont be a Thomas at all. My son watches this all the time, and I realized that his generation is completely different than mine, we were introduced to rap and a different side to culture at a later age, but now since we listen to all of that, they naturally adapt to it and the shows have to do something to keep the audience and not get canceled!
