Most important: stay with it - don't give up, there will come hard things for you to learn as well, it's not only fun - but you must see the fun, feel the fun... then you'll succeed. See myself: it took me years to play like that.... and it took me many month to get "into" this song in special. It is much harder to play as it sounds or looks like, especially if you play both sides at the same time. You will experience that pretty soon I guess.... ;-)
By the way, do you like Klezmer ? I guess it must be pretty common over there at Israel. Giora Feidman is a genius wizzard of clarinet. He and Helmut Eisel (a german klezmer clarinet player) were the reason for me to buy a clarinet. But I haven't really managed to start playing. Panflute, percussion and trumpet take most of my free time. I like klezmer and clarinet is the very best instrument to express the emotion, to get into "klezmer"-mood...
You know- I am 51 years old, I learned to play the piano for 8 years, never liked it, allways LOVED to listen to the harminuca and the accirdion, and last week I got the earge to play the accordion!
My mom used to have one, I asked her where it was, she told me that it was given to a friend of her mor than 10 years ago, so we called that friend and I went and took it!
I know the theory of music , my hearing is very good for harmonies and all I have to do is practic a lot...
That's great, a big advantage. There are many people fascinated by the accordion, start playing but quit pretty soon on experiencing trouble playing both sides coincidently and managing bellows at the same time - just because of leakage of a good teacher or instructor. This is the hardest time to overcome. Once you have learned the bellows chances are good for you to stay with it. I'll cross my fingers. Your age doesn't really matter but practice, practice, practice... ;-)
I admire as well all other musicians who work(ed) hard to become a master or at least a good player of any (!) instrument - including the own voice. Hard work (excessive training) and dedication is one of the "keys" to success. Nevertheless, one always can play better than one did before. The story never ends up... especially with the queen of music: classics.
I like to hear from time to time Bach, Händel, Mozart. Beethoven, Tschaikowsky, Wagner, Strauss, Prokofieff... but not only.
This was my biggest and most difficult project ever....
and I am already planning for the next "headache", what will be:
J.S. Bach - Toccata und Fuge BWV 565.
This will be my masterpiece concerning classic music (thisone here was it concerning jazz).
Toccata and Fuge will take several month too, i guess. I have not yet started with that but I will in near future, beside continuing on my playlist of modern and pop-music here on youtube.
Klasse - wirklich klasse, wenn ich andere Musikfreunde damit inspirieren kann selbst in die Tasten zu hauen und einfach mitzuspielen. Wunderbar. Es gibt nichts Schöneres für einen Musiker. Solche Kommentare liebe ich.
You are really dedicated to your work, and it shows.
I play bass, looking for a decent accordion (after a I get a new amplifier =)), so I know little about the accordion, but you are surely a favorite player of mine. It's a shame how underlooked accordion is here in the west.
The accordion does not get the right value (acceptation, appreciation) by the audience in general. Not in specific, many old accordionfans do really know what this kind of music, the instrument is worth... how difficult it is to play and how nice it can sound on a good instrument played by an experienced musician.
Playing this song was a dream of mine... since my youth. Finally, I got to the point do say: quite good - not perfect, but good enough.
... and i forgot to mention, that a big part of this "accordion-acceptance-problem" is the way of thinking that it is a "niche-instrument".
THAT'S NOT TRUE !!!
One of the reasons, why it is not really "en vogue" all over the world and in all generations that currently live around the globe. I want to show, that the accordion can be used for almost - any - kind of music.
Very true, and your work resulted very well I would say! The niche theory here truly is terrible, players are so seldom because of it, everyone just wants to play the guitar, a great instrument, but it gets so overdone sometimes. Now, I play bass & guitar but have trouble finding an affordable accordion for me. However it may be due to my search for a bayan accordion, the music of Russia I find amazing and wish to one day replicate it on a bayan.
You name it. The more specific, the more registers, the better the quality.... the higher the price. Just like buying a new car...
even good and fairly maintained oldies can not be bought really cheap. It all depends on what you ask for.
Guitar is a very nice instrument too and even sounds good played together with an accordion - but you're right - there exist too many guitar-players on world. It is simply too rare that children or adults just start learning to play the accordion. A pity.
well, I am borrowing a 40 bass key beginner accordion today, I learned the tetris theme ahahah, but that's it so far, but I need to add bass notes. I can;t wait to improve, I have been already.
AMAZING!!!!!! NICE JOB xD!!!

Yeah, goosebumps, shivers down the spine....
that's what I get too when listening to that type of music.
It's strange what Jazz, Blues, Swing can do to you - but a very nice "strangeness".

Thanks. It's that kind of Jazz that I prefer, let me say "I like it most" - beside "smooth" Jazz (slow-jazz).

- more than 200 hrs of training
- more than 4 weeks of intensive exerciseing
- more than 20 tries on the final recording

As you can see by my last words:
I fulfilled myself a dream. This is at least better as I thought I could play within that timeframe.
The hard work and headaches were worth the result (at least for myself, a confirmation to myself that I am on the right way).
