  • Learning how to move without the ball, helps me so much as a shooter in games. Thanks Rip!!

  • He's talking about jogging-- and they play 100 miles and runnin'-- well done.

  • Sweet moves RIP!

  • facebook.com/Richard.Rip.Hamilton

  • you need "NASAL OXY MASK" enable to do this!

  • Seeing this guy having a fresh start and energized to compete for a title again puts a smile on my face. Go Rip go!

  • like he said, "its a lost art" definitely brings a tangible skill to the bulls that no other player can bring

  • @avinball haha true that! korver's good at it sometimes but no one has rip haha. Glad to see someone else knows whats up

  • cant wait to see him on bulls! I wna see how he fits on bulls, although my guess is he's gna fit well, being a non-ball dominant player he is

  • he completes the bulls completely ! he's all derrick rose needs do some research on him he will complete the bull ! 2011-2012 champs Chicago Bulls

  • Definitely watching this because Rip is now playing for Chicago. You know I have to do my research.

  • kinda miss him in pistons but he will fit right in with the bulls thats a big plus for them

  • WELCOME TO CHICAGO RIP!

  • this is WAY MORE USEFUL than kobe and lebron's signature moves.

  • I loved seeing the Miami Heat defenders slip and fall on the court while defending Hamilton. :-)

  • thumbs up if you are seing this because rip just came to Chicago!!

  • I don't know why on so many of these basketball videos there's always at least one person talking about NBA 2K. Mentioning a video game doesn't make you appear knowledgeable about anything, just like the Guitar Hero losers you see on guitar playing videos.

  • FREE RIP!!!!!

  • @markw117 Rip was released by the pistons and now the bulls are looking to sign him. Its a great upgrade at the 2guard. Our bigs know how to set some good screens and playing with rose he will get plenty of open looks. Watch out Miami.

  • @montiel291 I can't wait. SG has been a weakness of the bulls sice MJ. He would be great addition for them.

  • This is truely the lost art in the NBA. Such a shame.

  • PLEASE! can anybody tell me if Rip Hamilton could be a Hall of fame¿? An T-Mac?

  • @rapbasketball2 No to rip, maybe t-mac.

  • fuck.... this really works for me

  • Thunder,Warriors, and Pistons are my top 3 fav teams. Rip got heart son

  • Like if you thought of JCole during this video because of the beat

  • i always thought his name was ric hamilton lol

  • i forgot all about him :o

  • him and kobe, best mid range ever, him and ray allen, best movers without the ball

  • This was prob the most helpful bball fundIamentals vid

    I've ever watched.

  • Why are there dislikes when he is teaching the biggest fundamental!

  • Damn, Rip shoulda went to Chicago this past season. That woulda been a big addition. It'd be cool, for me anyways, to see him competing for a championship again.

  • @tokinblckgie He's coming to Chitown this season to play with the MVP.

  • Afrika Bambatta!

  • this shit works when you play nba 2k11 lmao...

  • @breezethebeatmachine when i play, a good movement without ball is the key for easy 2 points, belive. if u think it's a piece of shit, don't comment, you're loosing your time.

  • best mid range shooter next to kobe, best mover without the ball next to ray. probably the best conditioned player and hardest worker in the league.

  • clever player

  • its so awesome watching new players learn from the pros, then applying it then become a great player because of it ;D...love Rip! ,,and Reggie too!! :D

  • wow this is pretty hard you need to have a lot of stamina to keep this up in a 40 minute game

  • Lebrons gotta watch this... instead of sulking on the side when his teammates got the ball

  • ya know, rip really isnt anything special by natural means (not especially athletic), but working so hard n always running around has made him one of NBA's toughest shooters to guard.

  • "Knowin where my teammates is at?" ... brilliance.

  • NBA 2k11 - when Rip is the SG, use the 12 curl play. always works for me

  • Ray Allen is the superior shooter. Rip is better at using screens.

  • RIP COULD HAVE EASILY SCORED 25 + ON ANY TEAM THUMPS UP IF YOU AGREE

  • Ray Allen and Rip are the best at this and they're both from UCONN too!

  • his nickname is rip because he used to rip his dipers when he was a baby. his dad was also called rip

  • some solid wise lessons!

  • His nickname is rip because he rips the net when he shoots

  • y is his name rip? it's like his prents wanted him 2 die..

  • @SkitzoMitzo richard is his real name rip is his nickname

  • Detroit need 2 just trade him and Tayshaun and re-built around Stuckey and Monroe, cuz da pistons glory days are long over wit and dey not goin anywhere wit those 2 still on da roster.

  • keep runing rip

  • Staying in Detroit isn't working for him. I think he'll fit in great with the Bulls because they need a starting two guard with his style of play.

  • LOL I use this in videogames online and destroy the dude gaurding me.

  • He learned something from playing Reggie Miller..... Reggie Miller!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @conanbdetective reggie got lotsa tricks with this style of play, and rip is wise enough to recognize that and study reggie's moves

  • man he can curl and shoot without looking

  • @stipenforthreee I told everyone that i am going to marry you fi i don't marry larry fitzgeraldjr the football player.

  • once I get in my sweet spot ALL NET

  • why do ppl call him rip? i thought it was richard

  • @WatDaFugg

Likely a childhood nickname for the way he plays or something like that. Or because he "kills" defenders or something like that. That's my guess.

  • guys whats the song during the first 40secs of this video?

  • @shootallday

    Runnin' by The Pharcyde

  • @jaranarm

Hey thanks for that appreciate it........

  • Guys help, whats the song during the first 40secs of this video?

  • everyone wants to play like kobe, but these are the kinds of players that are the most effective

don't know why more people don't try to play like RIP

  • @NerdyFerdy i've always tried playing like rip, but nobody sets screens in street ball so it gets too tiring just out running my man for a catch but only for him to catch up as i shoot

  • @0nekhmerXViet Talk to the biggest guy on your team, provided he's not also the best player, he should be setting screens.

  • @NerdyFerdy well he does move a lot and unless your very fit in terms of stamina your gonna be sub within the first 5 mins... but love his game rip and ray should play together what a nightmare that would be for the defending team.

  • @themainmanontheblock well if you're not that athletic, you probably won't be on a team

  • I have learned a lot on Rip.

  • lost art..LOST ART of BASKETBALL!!

  • quien me traduce esto??? please in spanish

  • Whats the last song thats playing?

  • Rip is a beast

  • after guardin him, ur legs will be ready for track running

  • this is a lot of hard work. maybe thats why everyone in the NBA just stands around. I swear only rip hamilton, and ray allen are the only players that do this

  • it just really annoying when i move around get open but my pg is blind and/or such a ball hog and would either shoot it or drive it, i stand there like wtf man. n yeah i can shoot outside.

  • pharcyde!!!

  • kewl!!

  • what if thats not wer you set your screens? cuz thats not how our offense is

  • @09tdubbs It shouldn't necessarily matter where the screens are as long as you read your teammates to get you set up for that open shot. It could be anywhere on the court.

  • @jaranarm ok thanks

  • Rip needs to learn proper grammar. Its like he doesn't know what the word "are" is. Yo, my teammates they is gonna pass me the ball. Fo sho.

  • this video really helped my game

  • yoyo kwwyy, if you would like to improve in basketball, you must start sticking with a genuine training plan. I used the nba workout routine here "50inch vertical (dot) com". I haven t even told this to my high school teammates yet ha

  • Today only Ray Allen and Rip use the system with effectiveness. Whenever I play ball, kids only use fadeaways or pull ups inspired from the Kobe's and Wade's. I dont blame them but moving without the ball is not only an art but lets the offense flow and create for other players. I'm going to start using the chair technique because I'v only practiced coming off screens spinning the ball to myself so I might need somebody to help me.

  • @slyester33

Lol, that spinning the ball technique works though. I used to use that to get my spot up jumper better and it worked surprisingly well. That chair drill does look like it would work wonders though if you had someone to set you up with passes. Either way, good luck with your game.

  • @tokinblckgie I like you as Bruce Bowen. Do you like, Bruce.!

  • 2nd to last and last song?

  • Lol I took all the stuff Reggie did to me then I did it to other people. This is great if you don't have good ball handles....but it is very tiring

  • still a pro

    better than you ever were

and this is 3 years old

  • I'm not a great ball-handler nor am I very good at creating my own shot so Rip's style of scoring is perfect for players like me. The only thing is that you won't get star status like Kobe or Wade because you're off the ball a lot and you have to move your ass like there's no tomorrow.

  • these are some great tips but you have to be well condition to run around like that

  • Young players should watch him

So they can get some tips.

    :))

  • wats that 1st song

  • @slicknic46 The first song is Pharcyde - Running, a newer version over the same beat is Wiz Khalifa - Name on a cloud both good songs

  • someone tell rip that he's not a good player anymore. he's shooting 41 percent this year while taking 16 shots a game. hey rip you're not a first option anymore

  • @grasd2 still a pro

    better than you ever were

and this is 3 years old

  • what a retarded argument. so do you never criticize nba players? i mean they're better than you, right?

  • I can run the floor all day n ppl give me good screens too.....but i cant make any shots lmao

  • @xergr wtf u on bout m8 lol

  • Pharcyde - Runnin'

  • exactly reggie miller WAS the best at this now it is clearly him so stop living in the past lmao

  • @joemith12345 HA!BASKETBALL IS EASY!

  • I'm wondering, did he play like this in college. Cause if he did the fucking Wizards were foolish

  • naw he wasnt allowed to do dat shit in college........jim calhoun dont play dat shit....

  • Just from watching b-ball, whether it's rec or pros, most the times when teams are struggling it's from people without the ball not moving.

  • YEa man! thelost art of basketball!!

  • Reggie is da man at this but Rip isn't that far behind him.

  • 1. Know where your teammates are at all times.

    2. Change the speeds.

3 Don't stand on one spot for more than 2 seconds.

  • @zetrain

Id say posting up is an exception... If you have a good seal, you can stay there a bit longer than 2 seconds I'd hope x_X But if you don't get the ball then you can move

  • Hey has anyone heard the of 50 inch vertical leap program. I heard that you can jump really high with it. I'ma try it out.

  • Reggie is still the Man

  • reggie was the best at this

  • Good!

  • Rip in my opinion is the best at moving W/O the ball and looking to get open after exploiting his defenders weaknesses.

  • @denzell707

look at the video of carlos bozer

    its also from tnt

the he shows you how to move without a ball as a post !

i watched it , too and it helped me a lot !

  • im pretty sure carlos shows some post moves not moving without the ball as a post player.

  • How to get the low post position

  • Thanks you rip hamilton!

  • How do you move w/o the ball as a center?

  • you use pick and rolls and such

  • Typically, as a 5, you aren't going to move w/o the ball as much as Rip. You should look to set screens all the time. Not just pick and roll or pick and pop (cause that's basic), set back screens (especially for wing players). Now, guys such as Ray Allen or Reggie Miller moves w/o the ball a lot. So as a 4 or 5, your job is to read where your shooter wants to go and read where his defender is (shooters, esp. Reggie loves to make a fade cut b/c their defender knows about the curl). Hope I helped.

  • centers aren't usually the type of players to move w/out the ball cuz number one ya'll are suppose to score near the basket and two you usually aren't fast enough like RIP.

  • aye can someone quickly explain to me the change of speed demenstration ty.

  • You set your guy up by going slowly initially. You can see where your screen is going to come from. You slowly go up, make a jab towards the screen like you're going around it, and then make a swim move, and cut straight thru to the bucket. Make sure you're aware of where your screen is coming from, and where your passer is.

  • Rip plays that type of ball that doesnt get the full credit it deserves in the NBA. He is like the only I cat I bet you was really listening to MJ in Washington.

  • Seems like it.

  • @The4one4you4slept4on why does rip have he mask during games, what is it?

  • @TheDezert he broke his nose real bad a while ago and he wears it to prevent more injury just like stodomire

  • @TheDezert

    Broke his nose.

  • @The4one4you4slept4on i don't like him personally i think he's horrible as the black women that got all her wealth basketball

  • rip is the best

  • Rip is best in the NBA when it comes to moving whit out the ball

  • @GBBK12 Ray Allen

  • he was sayin a sweep means when 1 team beats the other 4-2 so i told em its 4-0 and not 4-2 get it

    dumbass

  • thats not a sweep a sweep = 4 - 0

    not 4-2

    loser

  • pistons didnt win a GAME with the 2009 Cleveland Cavs, idiot.

    4-2 was in what, 2006?

Dont call someone a loser when you're one and more.

    Dumbshit.

  • rip=easy baskets

  • i wish the guys i play with moved like this. they just stand there totally still it's annoying.

  • then you'd be half ded at the end of the game

  • then give them a face shot

  • @JPR511 watch Celtics videos from the 80s and Knicks from the 70s to see some great ball and player movement.

  • @JPR511 Hey Rick Melissa!

  • @JPR511 Ya point guards have to do all the work these days :(

  • @JPR511 i don't ask you to sleep with anyone i know or jagged edge either all yall can kiss my ass

  • @MsMelissaDavis1 i don't want you either.

  • @JPR511 Nothing more demoralizing than stagnant offense. It's especially crappy when you're facing a team with more size and your guys don't move around.

  • Richard Hamilton is good as f*** but they got swept by LeBron and the Cavs

  • .......Grrr

  • then the cavs got swept by the magic

  • ¤ø„¸¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨ post to 3 other vids

  • Richard Hamilton is good as fuck.

  • do you have msn ??? i want to have this video

  • hamilton and miller are just alike.

  • miller who?

  • reggie miller

  • but Miller is a better shooter

    and hamilton has better athleticism

  • Amazing mid range jump shooter. Love to watch RIP do his thing on the court

  • Thats the key to the game as a guar and Rip perfectionate it

  • great player, very quick, but not even close to Ray Allen at shooting!

  • i love garding theres nuthing like it I LOVE IT

  • RIIIIIP HAMIILTOOOOON

  • Cant beleive A.I F***ed up the whole pistons organization..

  • it looks bad now. the iverson trade, but billups wasnt gonna be on detroit next year anyways. dumars knew that. and with A.I's contract expiring ..he is going to dump sheed and iverson for an all star, its been publicy stated that dumars is going after lebron james or chris bosh, like i said, looks horrible now. shitty trade, but its going to be better in the long run.

  • ...very under-rated player and very under-rated skill

  • this is like chapter 1 of a shooting guard bible. you shootin guards out there, study this cuz this is a bread and butter fundamental skill that needs to be practiced intensely. i don't ever see shootin guards moving around enough or moving correctly. alot of standing or jogging

  • AND THATS IF YOU HAVE A GOOD PASSER!

  • AGREE
