  • @chourtnii LOL, it's ok. Unless you're a tiny fly, a jumping spider won't hurt you. :-)

  • wow that is huge i love these massive phidippus spiders never had one lay eggs before but here in the seattle area we dont get em that often awsome tv in the background to hahaha

  • @ink4492 LOL! I was watching 2 and a Half Men when I wanted to get a video of her. I have a new wolf spider now as well. I should get footage of her. Biggest I've seen in my area. Glad my brother shows me spiders he finds before squashing or releasing them. :-D

  • do all jumping spiders need moisture?

  • I prefer to give mine access to water, yes. On days they've eaten and it's not too hot they can go without.

  • ive got a bit of a crisis with 1 zebra spider sling, it cant really move that well and it doesnt accept any dead food i give it, so sme help would be greatly appreciated(-:0

  • Is this a recent hatch; does it remain in it's egg sac? Spiderlings don't really accept food until their first or second molt. If it's old enough to hunt, fruit flies or really tiny leafhoppers would work. Make sure it always has access to moisture - like some tiny droplets sounds like it would do enough for your's.

  • oh wow, okay, its a relief to know it doesnt eat much until their first moult, thanks

  • It's kind of lame that here in the UK I only ever seem to see the zebra spiders (I think that's the only kind of jumping spider we have). That aside, I love the little things and wish I knew how to keep one before they seem to dissapear at the end of May.

  • Yeah I've kept the zebra ones. I'm ok with the adults as pets, but I have a very hard time caring for their babies. I've stuck with bigger ones for now on.

  • You are so very brave! I can't do that. Spiders (all but Daddy Longlegs) scare me beyond belief. I'm trying to get better though. Good video. Thanks for sharing.

  • Sometimes being exposed to them often helps. Have you tried keeping one you aren't too scared of as a pet?

  • I have the same jumping spider which when i found was like almost twice the size of that one. She had an egg a few days later and now has hatched!! im so happy ill video the spider soon!

  • Cool. I look forward to your video of it. I hope your spiderlings do really well.

  • The egg is attached to the roof of the container and to the wall, So i probably wont make a video until the babies actually come out the spider sack.

  • Good idea letting them come out on their own. It was a little premature for me to take mine out but I'm not experienced with spider breeding. Least I got to see a jumping spider molt out of that. It took me just until today to figure out what mine have been living on.

  • Nice little kumo. Where did you find that one. I think as in the first part of the video you are taking a risk of a bite putting your finger up to it front on.Kiotsukete

  • Yeah. I was trying a little too hard to get her to jump on it like she'd been doing a lot of earlier. Guess she got sick of performing. X-D If she'd bitten me, no hard feelings. She only does what spiders are supposed to.

I wouldn't ever do this with my sac spiders.

  • Name him Mr. Chicken

  • More vids... hopefully. Sorry about the TV noise, I was watching Two and a Half Men when she wanted out of the jar. X-D Both are on egg-guarding duty as of this moment. I'm planning on getting a better camera so hopefully I can show everyone the baby spiders. The two I have made 3 egg sacs between the both of them. Wish me luck!

  • Jumpy Mc'Jumpalot maby?
