  • The album is "Lou Reed Live" on RCA. This and "Rock and Roll Animal" are easily the best.

  • Oh man.I cant begin to tell u how pleased i am that this version is back on here.Thank you so much. This is by far the best version & one of my all time favourites,& why Lou himself is not fond of it i will never know.Genial guitar's too!

  • If you listen very close at the end of this song they are 'keying up' to

play 'walk on the wildside'...So this was recorded on the same live

'intro & sweet jane' album that made this guy famous, Back in '73..

This band I believe 'the velvet under ground' made lou reed famous.

Credit to JJackAL52 who makes the correct conclusion..

  • You got it baby!

This is the ONLY version worth listening to, thanks!

    It's funny!

  • So good I'm gonna to listen to it again.

  • this is the one and only good version of this song

  • this actually is the best live version, congrats bro

  • I just love this version, incredible guitars and drums and lous voice is excellent here, reminds me of sping when snow is melting and sun is shining, cause i used to listen to this right away when i came home from school in the eighties so the weather struk to mind with this song

  • The bad thing with Reed was he would speak the words to his songs after the early 80's instead of singing them, making them a boring monolog.

  • yeah this is great ... what year was this recorded ... and who with him....

  • @JJackAL52 was about 75 I believe

  • @Sinsteel .... Thanks ! You know what though, I am listening to this now again and it sounds so much like the 'Rock n Roll Animal' band with Hunter and Wagner on guitars. If so it may have been recorded at the same show on Dec 21, 1973 at the Academy of Music in NYC but left off the album. I saw Lou at the Capital Theater in NJ in Oct 1974 and he had already moved away from the 'Rock n Roll Animal' sound which I was hoping to hear at that show. I loved the way that band sounded.

  • @Sinsteel - I researched this more after reading 'mbow555's post below that this is from the 'Lou Reed Live' album which was released in '75 as you said but the show it was recorded from was the same as 'Rock n Roll Animal' live album show at The Academy of Music, Dec. '73. That band had a distinct blistering sound with Hunter and Wagner. As much as people loved that sound Lou himself didn't, so he quickly transitioned away from it. Many consider that band to be Lou's best, myself included.

  • I love this Live version to death. It kicks the ass of the album version.

  • Yes, indeed the best version from 'Lou Reed Live' album BUT not in MONO!!!! Could someone post it up in stereo, pleeeaaasssseee! Thank you!
