  • wow so awesome! can i ask if a foam board is a sort of styro coated with board or paper? is that what you used?, also is the white materila you used a rubber sheet? or just cardboard? thanks!!!

  • So much respect for that, so much

  • HOLY CRAP, dude can you make me one? seriously, if you sell these anywhere I want to know.

  • hi can i ask is that foam board or styrene you were cutting in 0:30?

    or is rubber sheet ok??

thanks a lot.l im trying to make this also! ^^

  • My thoughts went from meh to sucky to ok to amazing

  • Amazing!

  • do you have any videos for making squalls gunblade? even a time lapse will surely help ^_^

    cheers~!

  • how much did this cost you?

  • Amazing work i dont know how you did it I'm working on a dagger right now made with a cardboard core and the styrene is not sticking when i try to layer the styrenes. I must be doing something wrong i was thinking about adding a layer of craft foam sheet and see if that will work but not sure what do you suggested?

  • @meechemad Which glue are you using? (I'm assuming hotglue.) Certain hotglues might not stick as well as others. All purpose hotglues seem to do well. You'll have to experiment and see what works.

  • @theproplady lol nvm i figured out what i did wrong i feel dumb because of it T_T

  • I just bought ffxiii and i LOVE IT this is one of the most beautiful games iv ever plaid i Love the sword amazing work :]

  • Wow! I didn't think it would turn out so freaking amazing when I first started watching. Very good job!

  • When was this guy in Final Fantasy XIII??????? Im on the third disc and i havent seen him

  • @WhereAreTheStairs1 he's in Versus XIII - which has been in development since 2002 i believe (similar to XIII it started development on PS2) but is now in development for PS3 as an exclusive and will be out late next year or early 2013 from the sounds of it (from what Nomura has been saying)

  • w8...wat is that made of again?

  • simply amazing O.O

  • what material did you used as a cut out? is that foam or sumthin'?

  • lol man you got fast hands and body hahaha jk :P

  • Your sword is so amazing!!!!!

may i ask what the length of it is?

    Thanks =D

  • @luckydude424 It's about 45" long. I made the pattern by blowing up a picture of the sword in Photoshop and making it 45" long before printing it out.

  • Amazing ! I mean waow !

  • cool :) best i have seen

  • what kind of resin do you used for make the motor of the blade?

  • DO WANT!!

  • wow!!! *__*

  • Very impressive. Thought it was another lame paper and foam creation but your method for the blade actually works pretty well. I was most impressed by the hilt though. It seems it'd be too fragile for my tastes but it certainly looks great and would take a quarter of the time to make.

  • That's nice and all but please get a life :'P yes I'm mad I don't one of those (i like it)

  • Not going to lie i thought this vid was going to be another crappy how to make a sword out of card bord and poster. im not sure why exactly, but i watched the whole thing and a little past the middle you started to blow my freaking mind! • My first reaction: "Ew... Paper swords? Really?"

My second reaction: "Oh she's giving the sword depth... how cool! But still no love put into cutting...."

  • funny wen u cut paper and niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice

  • can you use that to cut people in half?

  • At first I thought it was gonna be really lame, but damn! You have talent! That turned out amazing!

  • :O This is why I bow to cosplayers......

  • That is amazing.

  • Helloooooooo, I do not know how many times i have watched this video. Truly the best I have seen.

So my question is, would you go about the same route with a more complicated sword like the broad legged from .hack//g.u? I got all the materials i just don't want to waist any.

  • @DarkBebi I would recommend much the same process, using a wooden or foamboard core cut into the shape you want with the styrene cut into a squiggly shape. Look up the Thief Dagger tag on my cosplay blog for a project with a weird shaped blade.

  • Heh. Sunny doesn't move nearly that fast in real life...

All in all, it took about 20 hours to make. I had to cut out a lot of video in order to get it condense down to ten minutes...

  • omg it's beautiful!

  • Try contacting me via my blog, which I've linked to.

  • i want it, i NEED it for my cosplay *dies*

  • amazing work!! may i ask what enamel paint was used for the final touch ups of the sword? flat? glossy? i am truly inspired by this! thank you so much for sharing

  • It was glossy testors black and silver metallic paint.)

  • OMG it is so awesome seeing your process. I have always wondered how you made such cool props and costumes. Thanks for the guides.

  • Thanks! I hope to post more stuff in the future when I can.

  • An artist at work. You truly do amazing things with your craft. Thank you for sharing.

I couldn't help but chuckle when the music sped up at around 8:13; it felt so frantic that it was almost like I was rushing as well. :)

  • Thanks. (It's funny how the music and action syncs up in places. I didn't even plan most of it. ^_^)

  • That was phenomenal to watch. You are a creative genius to be able to bring a weapon with such detail and complexity into a tangible, usable, cosplay accessory. I tip my hat to you and applaud your patience.

  • what was the thing you use at 6:30>?

  • The Vacuumform machine? (I have a link to the tutorial I used to build it in my description.)

  • thanks very much =]

  • omg you are really awesome!! =)
