  • I think in their time they were great and listening to them again they are still great

  • why cant there be more tough girls like her??? im tired of toothpick girls that break and whine if you breathe on them wrong :I..nice song btw

  • REZ BAND ROCKS!

  • They are as classic as soda bottles out of a machine.

  • video is bad quality, out of sync, pixelated. the song and the band rock.

  • Jeremy L. introduced me to this band back in '85 .Thanks !

  • Rez was not one of the first Christian rock bands; they were THE first.

  • @rustbelly110 I AGREE..ONE OF THE PIONNERS..

  • Rez band? How'd this get in the stack? Oh well...here's hopin...

  • Rez Band rulles!!!!

  • wiredwhatnoy obviously didnt rad all the previous post!!

  • Is this AC/DCs Whole Lotta Rosie? Rez was great when they tried to sound like Rez. They have ripped off of AC/DC a few times, this isnt a Rez song.

  • Comment removed

  • @wierdwhatnot - this sounds nothing like AC/DC

  • i wonder what happened to the dude and chick. both the characters and the actors.

  • I remember REZ band. Praise has an upward lilt.

  • the only thing worst than satanic bands is bands who pose to be in christ when their actually undercover for satan one of this bands songs backwards says "I love you satan I love you so" common people you mine as well jump on the band wagon and I'm not judging because I listen to metal all different kinds I'm just sayin

  • exelente grupo, great REZ!!!!!!!

  • exelente grupo, great REZ!!

  • great sound, eternal messge!!! Here we go!!!

  • I love this group....love this song....and love the video...pure 80's...brings back great memories.

  • This riff is a complete rip off of AC/DC's "Whole Lotta Rosie".

  • @meanmiketwo The riffs are similar but not exact.

    Whole Lotta Rosie: A C A D A C A

    Love Comes Down: A C A D G A A

Of course the songs' forms, chord progressions and melodies are completely different.

  • @chazpres514 yea that does sound like Whole lotta Rosie.

  • I grew up listing to this band. I love this band and even now I think they still ROCK!

  • umm, Agape was WAY before Rez and did all original material, NOT watered-down secular stuff. Out Of Darkness was another one. Learn your history.

Oh, and this video is awful. Song's okay, but the video is way beyond lame. 'Let's have the band walk sideways through a subway set pretending to play their instruments.' Seems there are coke heads in the Christian industry too.

  • I think there is a deception of proclaiming you all are christian. I used to listen to you guys in the late 80's and other christian told me I shouldn't listen to your music anymore now I know why.

  • @margo243able Last time I checked which I admit was a long time ago all the Rez band members were living very christlike lives as far as I could tell. I like the music on this one but I do admit they tried to make the video a bit too commercial. So what are you referring to whey you say now you know why?

  • This is the stuff that made South Africans Turn to God in the wild Eighties. We Lewis brothers in Cape Town South Africa Love you Rez. You Broke the Chains forever. God Bless you guys!!!!!!

  • Wendi has the best "hard rock female" voice of any singer. She doesn't show her full talent in this song but in "Crimes" she really belts it out. Rock out sister. Long live Rez, and of course "He is Risen".

  • Brilliant Band - shocking clip... LOL! its like Pat Benatar meets Michael Jackson - the dance steps are woeful 80s trash. But then again that was the 80s. Nasty stuff.

  • PURE cheese from one of THE greatest bands of all time, christian OR secular.

  • funny video, great song

  • That song was the one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The love comes down is my best song ever!i have the CD of it.Rock and roll!

  • I luv REZ, and I have almost all of their stuff, cassette, CD or album, but where were they during my youth? I would've gone crazy for this vid. I never saw it until tonight. God, what power, and passion! You gotta' give it up to them! I hope they're still around: I'll hafta' Google them. Peace to you all!

  • Rez is fantastic... love em....

but this video :-) haa lol

  • I Solid raw garage sounds one of the greatest 70's rock bands that missed the spot light! Rez rocks and I will catch up with you guys after judgement day!

  • WOW!!!! I saw their concert at the Masonic Temple in Portland Oregon in 1984. AWESOME show, awesome band. I have to say now, as an adult watching this, this isan awesome video!! Very well done. I watched this on Real Videos (TBN). Thank you sooooo much for posting. Anyone know where I can find any SERVANT?

  • I saw Rez Band in concert back in 1982. I still have the concert shirt hanging in my closet, lol

  • Great music :)!

  • good band. my dad knew and played with him alot. but my dad was 10 years before them

  • Christian, secular, satanic....whatever........These guys had a handful of good songs and a dumptruck load a crap. Military Man is a great song, but the live performance posted on here from 1992 is a big time lypsync piece. More power to ya religion wise, but they have a lot of songs that flat out suck!!

  • P.O.D. 7 singles- Christian.

Kansas. 2 of the guys are christians. Listen to their lyrics.

Argent. God gave Rock n roll to you.

    Alice Cooper. Very strong Christian.

    nough said.

  • is there any christian rock out there, all the stuff I've found is like this. I could give this to any non-believer and they would never tell that this is christian rock.

  • Wow This Is Real Hard Rock WOW Thanks...Love It

Rez Band, Petra, WhiteHeart and Jerusalem Is Absolute Some of the Best Rock band in the Whole History Who said Christian cant play Rock What a lie...SMILE COME ON U2 STEP ON THE ETERNAL LOVE SPACE-ROCKET--SHIP-ARCH-EAGLE LORD JESUS CHRIST HALLEUJAH LORD JESUS CHRIST

  • Ty...loved this song

  • Hey, REZ BAND,come to Costa Rica once again! We need your music!!!

  • One of the best christian metal lyrics ever

    "you can't beat the heat he's red hot on your trail;

    he's the love enforcer,

and he has paid your bail"

    !!!

  • I love Rez Band...But this video! Yikes! It's like AC/DC meets Pat Benetar! LOL!

  • It was the 80s, man. Cut them some slack, hehehe.

  • yeah,yeah ,yeah,yeah,yeah,yeah Jesus

  • I love this song its rhythm it is super full and I also like video rez the best thing

  • I LOVE REZ BAND

  • i heard them first on a pirate radio station back in 1977 in chicago and had to see them. we get there and the entire audience is all straight-laced and christian and we were the only 2 stoners there. a couple of songs into the show we fire-up some joints and try to pass them around but everyone just moved away from us! :O lolol so we watched the entire show with nobody near us and us standing and shouting and whistling while everyone just sat and clapped and the band gave us a shout-out! :O lol

  • Cool thing is no one preached at you about it or anything, they just nicely moved away so you would stay. They knew you liked the music and it could/would have a positive effect on you if you stayed and listened.

  • Sooo good to hear rez band playing.

Yep when you lose your life for Jesus

You Win: that's the way it is with Him

    Thanks from New Zealand

  • Music is art, there is nothing wrong with stealing an idea. Artists (Musicians and Filmmakers) all steal ideas, there is nothing wrong with stealing some idea.

  • What year is this, 1985?

  • Ahhhh LOVE IT! Been looking for Rez songs for awhile...Thx for posting this!

  • These guys are awesome. I saw them last night at Unity Festival in Muskegon, MI, they don't have just a band, they have a ministry. God is going to use them.

  • Rez was my introduction to Christian Metal. Video brings back memories.

  • @CadillacL To bad this isn't metal.

  • Rez were great and are performing a reunion gig at Cornerstone 2008. Oh, and its Jesus with a capital J.

  • Rez Band rockin on for The Lord,I was listening to them in 1983..WOW!!

  • I am the son of jim denton who is in this video (he was the original bass player 4 rez). I can remember when this video was shot, its so funny to see it after all these years and read all the comments. My father and I play in aband with my mother called Wise Old River

  • Hey I used to be roommates with your uncle Rob Denton in St. Cloud, MN. One of the first people I led to the Lord was Pat Peterson who got very involved with Cornerstone magazine and the Crossings celtic band from JPUSA. Small world isn't it.

  • REZ is great!

  • Taking me back to Highschool! WHOO!

  • This is like a blending of all lame '80's trends. I like Rez but this video sux.

  • Love it and the hair..wow....one of the best bands in the world

  • great song

    ac dc sux

  • sounds like a little ac/dc tune with some jesus thrown in. Thats small j

  • Yeah, too bad AC/DC came after them ;)

  • really man the rez band has been around a while.Actually great jams

  • I'm not a terrorist nor Islam (if thats what you were reffering to) - and you said "requiers to be spread" - its going on right now - and on ways you don't want to know... They're actually convicing people to believe in something and give theirs values into something they can't proove it exist. Is that your "GOOD religion"? And blood spilled all over the world for someone or something called "god" they can't proove...

  • hahaa

  • I have seen Rez band in concert 3 times. They rock!!! Whats better is that they have real talent. At one time they also fed hundreds of homeless people in Chicago every day. Does anyone know what they are doing now?

  • That's fuc**** Christian Metal!!

    And these are all FAKE!!!

I mean CHRISTIAN METAL!!! METAL IS ABOUT HELL YOU MOTHER FUC****!!!!!

  • Hey 6meta66,

Wow! You must be so very enlightened! I can tell by your brilliant language & heart-felt loyalty to metal & it's strong hell-spawned message. Rock on...and inherit the wind.

  • Hey - its true. Every last bit of it. I mean everyone has the right to follow their own religion - but hey WTF?! I mean CHRISTIAN metal. Most of the FUC**** good metal bands are satanist or pagan or something. These are just some CHRISTIAN Iron Maiden wannabies. They suck.

  • Hey, thx for your reply. Sounds like you're really being honest with your opinions--not just sounding off to piss us off.

Can't argue with the fact that the best sounding metal is definitely not found in the Christian arena.

Also, absolutely agree that everyone (at least in this free country) has the right to follow their own religion.

BTW, what religion do you follow? Honest curiosity here; not wanting to convert you by asking that.

  • Well, I actually am a pagan(slavic). Only I follow that religion not because its the best or do I really belive in it - I follow it because it was my choice that it was and is the most peacful religion ever. Christians started just messing with everyone's lives - thats what I hate about it.

  • Christianity is a religion that requires it to be spread. If you find joy in something, you wanna share it. Some people go about it the wrong way, but dont despise the message just because a few idiots make it look or sound stupid. At least we dont fly planes into buildings and think that will get us to heaven.

  • I have to disagree with you. Have you ever heard of "Guilty by Association". This can be traced to anything. I was brought up on worldly Metal and Rock and when I live on the other side, I loved it. Once I became a believer in Christ. This music is sweet to my ears. It glorifies God. Is it possible that's the reason you don't like it? Music is a personal thing. Don't try to group it into the sound must mean, this?

  • Look up musical instrument of the bible and you will be surprised what instrument they were playing? 2 Samuel 6:5 David and the whole house of Israel were celebrating with all their might before the LORD, with songs and with harps, lyres, tambourines, sistrums and cymbals. I think they were jaming hard!

  • Well, the music is fucking shitty to.

  • isnt christian metal is christian rock

    FUCK

    SATAN METAL

    METAL IS ABOUT HEAVEN YOU

    GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER JAJAJAJAJAJAJ

soy latino haber si me entiendes girngo yankee jajajajajajajaj el rock cristiano es mejor tocamos mejor

  • Listen to their lyrics, dude. These guys are all for Jesus. They wanted and still want to reach out for the lost.

Where does it say in the Bible that metal is satanic?

Yeah, very "Christian" of you to be saying mother _________. I feel for you.

  • yes, "whole lotta' Rosie" indeed!

  • I did see these folks 27 years ago at creation 81 in muddy run park Pa. I remember the one gal in the band broke her leg and still performed in a cast...yeah they rocked

  • i love this band, but isn't the riff really AC/DC's "whole lotta' Rosie?"

  • kazkid yeah does sound like ACDC just a 3 chord song. Not really a real meaty message at all just some good ol R$R noise.

  • Great song but really silly music video.

  • I haven't heard this song in years...Brings back some good memories

  • ever heard of Jerusalem.

    The best christian rock band.

  • I have NEVER seen this! This is GREAT stuff! Thanks for posting Eagle.

  • 最高!!!。greit

  • Glen & Rez Band - "Rebels to the Wrong"

when i discovered the christian music scene in '74 that was the first thing i thought of...i thought i had been a "rebel" - but Christianity is really the rebel - it goes against the flow of the majority...what a great feeling & a great thing to know in your heart - that you are in this world but not a part of this world

  • i don't understand why you are so f......g fool

  • Correction: Rez Band WAS NOT the First Christian Rock band. There were others before them, but they were just watered down versions of the secular stuff then. Now if you had put first GOOD Christian Rock Band, I would agree. Rez Rocks.

  • thaks!!!

    Rez rocks!!!

  • @ElvenHotti7 "The Way" came to our high school in '75 or '76. But, they were not as intense.

  • @ElvenHotti7 I noticed he said one of the first so he is right about that, what song were they singing in the video because that was poor lip sink. I do have this album

  • @ElvenHotti7 I think he said "One of the first", not "the first"; and I have to say that is a pretty accurate assesment though you make a good point about them being original in not being just watered down versions of securlar groups. So maybe we can say, "the first truly original Christian heavy rock band"!

  • @ElvenHotti7 PETRA was the First and Still means ROCK!!!

  • Great to see Stu and the original lineup ;) thanks for posting this.

  • AWESOME! I haven't seen this video in over 20 years. Thanks for posting!

  • I love Rez. They got started back in the early 70's before Stryper. They stayed under the radar and made good, rock music. They played with passion and heart.

  • sounds like ZZ Top

  • I was thinking Motorhead

  • what a great song. this group has done great things. Thanks for coming to PA in the 80's. Great music, great lyrics, great future to come.

  • WOW! HAHA! I didn't know they had a video for this!! Wendy looks really cool in this video. I had the priveledge of meeting her back in 91 at the Cornerstone Festival. She is a sweet kind lady!! Thanks for posting this!!!

  • I know glen and wendy Kaiser and there christian conviction was very real.bringing christ to an audiance of young rockers.remember who christ ate with, the tax collectors and sinners,

christians need to stop squabbling amongst ourselves while the world burns around us.let christ fix his church and the rest of us go forth to all nations and witness.

  • I had the privilege of seeing the Rez band many times as a teenager. They used to play Toronto with another popular band, The Daniel Band. And, yes- Christianity got me through highschool and living in poverty. At the time, standing for something was better than falling for anything. ,

  • I NEVER quite understood Christian metal rock bands. Cause they sound as the "others " but their message is about peace & reconciliation with God...I mean.. isn´t rock about making trouble, and bar fights, and rebellion???

  • I don't think rock music is only about those things. It doesn't have to be about "making trouble, bar fights and rebellion" to be rock.

  • "isn´t rock about making trouble, and bar fights, and rebellion???"

    No that's country.

  • Yeah, shake the devil!

    Give him a hard time.

  • I have to agree there for sure..Just the music itself caters to the flesh and the wanna kick yer ass side of me. But really thats not my nature so I guess if you like the routy music it may as well have christian lyrics to huh

  • not sure if they were the first Christian Rock band, or if this was sent to MTV, but it's got Pat Benetar meets Thriller written all over it! Thanks guys! ~ a fan from the early mid-80s. :-)

  • Awesome! There's actually such a thing as classic Christian rock! Thanks.

  • never forget whwn they played here in Sweden back in 84...

  • You look at your Pastor in the face with such confidence and say "Father, I play Christ metal." and the father says "The very stereotypical metal that has Jesus upside down, on a cross burning at certain times?" "Yes father the very same, it is true." "Well then, son only God can save you at this time, and let us pray he can forgive you, and spare your eternal soul for your sins my son."

  • That's like you saying to your pastor "I use the internet to email friends with words of scripture and encouragement" and he says "the same internet with pictures of child pornography and beastiality" . . . "you wear the same jeans that I saw a gay man wearing?" . . . "you shop at the same grocery store where alcoholics support their habit?" . . . etc. etc. and then you say "I think we need to get you some serious help before you hurt yourself - and others!"

  • As a kid inthe 70s, these guys were my heros. This is from their thankfully short-lived 80s hair period before they got back to being proper hippies.

As someone else said, they were by no means the first Christian rock band, but I can still remember being blown away the first time I heard their first album.

  • You got me through high school...thanks guys!!

  • These guys are awesome!!!!!

  • "Glue bags, porn and suicide- the devil sells you cheap"

    - REZ

  • love REZ...but the mullet is killing me!!!

  • this is huge men! just luv it.

  • Man, this takes me back!

Resurrection Band is the best Christian rock band ever...

Check out Glenn Kaiser's solo stuff!

  • The first christian rock band was "Petra" in 1973, the first christian metal band was "Rez band" in 1977.

  • Except that Rez started in 1972.

  • Amazing! It's the christian thriller

  • First of all Resurrection Band/Rez Band/Rez were FAR from the first Christian band...but I digress...

I'm surprised how well this video still holds up. How old is it? 20 yrs? The band shots are a bit cheesy - think Journey, LOL (and especially with that big hair!) but the choreographed scenes are still killer. I imagine this was a very expensive video to make back in the day. I wonder if Paula Abdul helped out? Ha...

  • I can't imagine my teenage years without Rez band. I was a christian kid with a wild streak and this was just what I needed at the time. Even though I don't hold to Christianity anymore I still like to listen to my Rez Band. Just simply good rock.

  • I remember asking to play this song in my favourite bar in my 'transition time' in the 80s. When I handed over a tape to the barmaid, she played it. Some people thought it was another song of AC/DC, until they sensed something 'strange' about this song.

Rez really kicked some demons out of my head!

  • Thats cool, thanks for sharing that story. I love Rez Band! Someone turned me on to them and Petra in 1978 when I asked the Lord into my life. They were the first Christian bands I started to listen to. Till then all I listened to was AC/DC, Led Zep, Van Halen, Aerosmith etc... and of corse my favorite at the time was Kiss. Thank God I don't need that other stuff anymore. There is too much good stuff out now.

  • Rezz Band rocked!I remember the first time I heard Glenn Kaiser sing I thought Bon Scott became a Christian!God Bless you Glenn and the rest of the Rezz Band!

  • Amazing band, great song, and the video... well, it is MEANT to be funny, right?

  • Great days.. i still love this band today!!!!

  • Rez rocked, but this song was better the first time around, when it was called "Whole Lotta Rosie"

  • The ONLY thing similar between "Love Comes Down" and "Whole Lotta Rosie" is a seven note guitar riff. That doesn't meen that it is the same song. A lot of songs have similar riffs especially when you are talking Blues genre. Which is what comes out in "Love Comes Down". Kaiser was and is still heavy on the Blues. He is still putting out Blues CDs today.

  • This was my first Rez Album. Blew me away.

  • Ye! but I dont think they ever came to Scotland...bummer. Dig that 80's chic eh?

  • Forget the Christian angle, REZ is simply one of the greatest bands of all time!!!!!

  • Larry Norman for one...but Glenn and Wendy are great :D

  • ummm.. No not the FIRST christian rock band... there are earlier artists who broke the ground but it's all good.
