Also, can you please not comment what I said to you, about sign language, on my videos, which is verbal drama. It's considered spam and quite annoying. If you want to insult my videos, then please, nick-pick away, but please, don't post comments that are off-subject, once again, it's quite annoying. If you don't like what I have said, just take it as constructive criticism and do something positive with the negative, instead of being rather annoying and spamming.
I meant the signs were correct. We did have our own ideas of this song. This wasn't meant for a deaf audience. This was meant to pass the class. My teacher has a deaf twin and they are like 50 years old. So 19 years is way too little to know better. I don't care that you were in competitions. It is obvious also that I don't care about your "honesty." We of course are no damn professionals. We were just highschool kids learn ASL obviously, and this presentation was to pass the class.
Thank you for explaining that, I was confused about what you meant.
True ASL is for a deaf audience. ASL, as you know, stands for "American Sign Language," there is also English sign language and word order, which I noticed that your group did an English word order.
Also, many parents and siblings do not know sign language because they do not try to learn any, also many seem to assume that their child/sibling understands them without even talking to them in sign language.
Many people can also become "rusty" in a language if they do not practice it very often. Most likely though, from many of the signs that I noticed that your group used, she still keeps in contact with her twin sister and/or practices it regularly with other deaf people.
Also, imagine if someone, from another country, gave a speech in their own country, while using English, even though English is not their "natural language." Many people would feel happy that they did it in English, but those that do know verbal English as their "natural language" might become offended because they did not use even close to the proper grammar, although they might have used the correct words. Or, they might even be annoyed.
Your ASL isn't very good. Some of the signs that you did either weren't signs or were the wrong concept sign for the particular sentences that you did. Also, try finding a sign language interpreter or a deaf person to help you with your future songs. I did notice that you guys seemed to take the signs out of a book and put the signs with what words they seemed to fit with; this does not always work.
Look at the year, I'm not in highschool anymore so there won't be any future songs. The concepts were correct because our teacher gave it to us and the ASL signs were not suppose to match the lyrics so we had our own concept. So what concept are you thinking of? We don't need an interpreter because we were suppose to do it on our own for class credit. We did not take it out of the book and put in signs with what words seem to fit with it. So nice try.
It was only suggestion on my part. My parents have been and still are pastors to the deaf for the past 19 years. I have been in a few competitions myself in which it involved ASL, I have gotten first out of two of those competitions. Also, depending on how good the teacher, or even judge is will determine what place or even how good another person is.
If you do not like the way in which I am honest, please say so since I prefer the most direct way without beating-around-the-bush.
Also, which one did you mean, since I noticed a contradictory in your sentence...
"The concepts were correct because our teacher gave it to us" and "we had our own concept."
I was thinking of a concept that was ASL. ASL tells a story, not necessarily signing the words that are spoken.
Example: "Be as swift as a coursing river," I am not sure that the deaf watching this would understand the "swift same ocean." (Sorry, I could not see some of the signs done in the video due to the unsteadiness.)
this is a true thing that happens! its not a chain letter! its kinda scary at first but it really works!! paste this message into 3 comments and press ALT F4 and your crushes name will appear on the screen!!! its soo wierd
NOW that I really watched the vid... OMG our spacing was horrible >< and we werent centered >< but we were still prob better than everyone else, if Nicole gets on ill show her.
