ROFL thats funny, i bet it made you mad the first couple times you saw it huh? reminds me of the bug in the first game where youd die, reappear and fall into a pit if you werent quick to steer away.
also i can beat it on hard mode dying only about 4 times (no continues lost =0)
id like to know though, what guns are best to get? name top two and why and for what bosses. also if you can where to get them. Right now i say the Spread Shot the M gun and the heatseeker. C rocket launcher is for level 5 sub miniboss thats my only exception for other weponry
it happened to me before too, what happened is the game thinks your in a dirfferent spot for a different challege so you start off on the floor, meaning defeat. but for me i always started in this one level from the way top then just plopped down
i would also like to congradulate you on beating hard and challenge mode. I just finished beating it on normal and have beaten 28/40 challenges. Could you tell me how you beat the low ammo one on the docks plz?
Sure, the mission is quite easy once you know what to do, the way I did I used only 2 shots before the sub, one for the mass killing almost at the star and one to get the C missile, you must get the C one (the one you get right before the sub)to take out the sub and use the down screen to shoot at it.

Well at first I beated on Easy, eventually I could beat on hard, seems difficult until you figure out how the game works and what are the best strategies, like where are the enemies and how they attack and how can you take them down with the lowest risk involved, especially the bosses, you better save a good gun to beat them easily, like the missiles, they can suck a lot of lives from you with your regular one. Just keep trying.

im 40/40 on challenges to just beat the game on normal was pissed that there wasnt anything unlocked after beating it on normal, was hoping for a contra 3 unlock.
i love this game, so much fun!!!

fully upgraded spread fire and crush gun or machine gun. spread fire rapes everything on every level and the crush and machien guns just rape bosses
