Quite a blotchy finish I thought, the skin tones brush technique has done the portrait no favours.................it could have easily been smoothed out more with the right brush and patience.

i think this is a very high quality, professional and thorough example of something I simply don't like, i wont take away from the excellence in the work however. I I can't do hyper realism, I try to emphasize the character through color with an animated look, that is interesting to me. although this is great work to me its photography. thanks for sharing it the artist is a great talent, i'd like to see something he didn't recreate and thats not sarcasm by the way

erm... eye painted a pitcher of gollum once. eye did it in 87 minits. these movies are a grate hep. do you think linseed erl or olive erl is better to mix with yer paints?

great technique... i would have emphasized negative space and the whites and blacks (darks) so it looks more dramatic. . the photographic elements of the picture are spot on...ur an incredible artist keep up the good work.

@shanonvg Great work mate, in my experience the most challenging thing is making the subject recognisable. I sometimes do portraits, the family of the person I'm painting know how they look better than you do so it's a quite a feat to get them to say, "yes that's him / her" Again mate great work. :-)
