What's quicker and safer... Starting the app and leaving it on a table where you think someone might try to steal it, or taking it with you? Besides, since all you have to do is hit the home button to exit the app, and since now that everyone knows about it, wouldn't the potential thief just go straight for the home button? Stupid ideas these days... The Virtual Zippo app is more useful than this...

Apple does not allow an app to disable the HOME button. So they allow that, the home button can be clicked to get out. Now you can put in your own background image from your photo album. So thief will not know its running an app and it will sound an alarm.

What happens when the phone falls asleep, or the person just hits the home key and shuts off the application prior to picking it up? Most people know the iphone buttons stay on the screen, which is a dead give away even if the above wasn't true.
