although, I don't think he is a character, but I think when they started he was just speaking his mind and then eventually learned what people wanted him to say and is playing along to an extent. I don't think in any way that he isn't like this really, but I'm sure he rolls with it. Either way, the less time I spend thinking about if he's "real" or not, the more time I have to enjoy his ramblings :).
