GREAT BAND. ONE OF THE BEST OF THAT OR ANY OTHER ERA. BLEW THE BEATLES AWAY AT THEIR XMAS SHOW IN 1964 AS TOLD BY ONE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE ANIMALS WHO PARTICIPATED AT THE SHOW. THEY WERE THE FORERUNNERS TO GROUPS LIKE THE CREAM AND LED ZEPPELIN. GREAT MUSIC BACK THEN. WHERE HAS THE MUSIC GONE?
@alonenjersey Actually in the second song, it IS Jimmy Page playing the second guitar. And looks a lot like Jon Bonham playing the drums (could be wrong tho).
@kramrollin69 Yeah, it probably is Jim McCarty on the Drums. But it is DEFINITELY Jimmy Page on Rhythm guitar on the second song "Happenings...". Paul Samwell-Smith left the band just after the album was recorded, therefore Jimmy appeared as the new guitarist on TV etc....Apparently John Paul Jones played the Bass on the "Happening..." song in the studio....bit of trivia for ya..:).
Welllll, Who started Heavy Guitar metal???? Beck was up there, Hendrix. But listen to The Kinks "you really got me goin" from 1964 and the guitar and bass is full on heavy!! Heavier then anyone at the time...Except??? Maybe The Atlantics , an instrumental Surf Guitar band from Oz 1962....perhaps they took R&B and ran with it...Heavy man.
Way cool, I still have the original LP I bought for $2.87 (In Mono)... Yep kids, you could save a buck if you opted for Mono over Stereo. Fond memories
Mr sandy .. they wasn't a pop band .. the beatles and a few others were .. these were rock for the sixties not many other bands could touch them for that.
Does anyone have this in Colour?
Does anyone have Ten Years Time Ago - Studio version?
Cheers

Not long after this appearance, Paul Samwell-Smith was replaced by some cat named Jimmy Page.

@alonenjersey Luckily PSS quit, or we probably wouldn't even know who Jimmy Page is nowadays.
