actually for most of it I used particular. particle illusion was used for the firey red explosion and for the meteor's smoke trail.

Nice composite, your timing of the smoke particles works well! However, if you happen to revisit the effect, I'd do away with the blinding flash and try to show the audience the initial blast. It will pay off well if you can put the time into it. Keep working on your craft.

Haha, thanks! Yes, this was really my first indepth project and I didnt have the savvy to do intense explosions, thats why I added the large flash. If I do happen to revisit it I will eliminate a lot of the flash and add more of an explosion.
