  • wow good recovery

  • fast thinking great job!!!!! glad to see someone whos first reaction isnt to pull back but to pull the head to the side which helps a ton in those situations!! and great job pulling yourself back on!!!!!!!

  • I wish I had the nerve to recover as well as you! Well done, you handled it awesomely.

  • Wow, beautiful horse. Fantstic paces. What a shame, it was all going so well x

  • Nice recovery! I love it :)

  • I can't stand it when people comment stuff like "OMG!!! you like! Pulled her mouth off! you're horrible!!" When something like this happens...you only have a split second to make a crucial decision..I think you did great and you handled this situation very well :)

  • What composure!

  • @jessriggy Excuse me? I care about my horses and would die for them. I care about them greatly.

  • good job staying on

  • damn you have a quick reaction! Great job, i would have been on the ground with my horse half way across the show grounds before I figured out what happened.

  • Very good response! You can see her thinking about it and going into a half-arsed "maybe I should try this again" flip and once you pulled her around she goes "OMG I forgot, THAT'S why I don't do that anymore!"

  • holy shit your seat is amazing

  • Great Job!

  • great job staying on wow:)

  • amazingly handled. I had a horse that use to flip, we got rid of him asap because it is THE most dangerous thing a horse can do!

  • awesome job staying on! (:

  • i want to know what the woman in the background clapping her hands was trying to accomplish?

  • @crox456

you do that when a rider falls off and gets back on or even gets up. OR when they save themselves from falling off. It's kinda like a "good job! happy your alright!" kinda thing

  • @crox456, the woman clapping in the background is my mother. I suppose as a mother watching it was just expressing great joy she didn't watch her daughter die in front of her. She wasn't likely thinking that clapping might make her spook, just too nervous about the previous moment.

  • @crox456 clapping to make sure she is ok1?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? DUHH

  • very well recovered!

  • I'm not a dressage rider, so please excuse my ignorance. Will they let you continue with the test after a freakout like that one ? How much does it count against you if you didn't fall off ? Extremely well-sat, and beautiful horse[:

  • @CrimsonxTears, yes they let me continue thought the judge stand up and come out of the booth while it was happening. Afterwards she asked if I was OK. I was just counted against for that particular moment, as she and I obviously did not properly perform that particular movement, otherwise it had no other affect.

  • wow you did great to stay on!

  • really well sat!!

  • Well done poppet. After reading your comment, I cant help but think why people would question what you did? I had a horse that did vertical bucks and i had a video up- basically i hit the horse with the whip at her tail bone. Makes them go down and forward. SAfest for me and for the horse. Basically had to take it down because of people yabbering on about whips etc - but what you did was fine and people shouldnt contest it!

  • I am REALLY impressed with how well you handled that! Kudos to you!

  • how did u stay on

  • Jeepers that was quick! Well done for reacting so fast that was pretty damn amazing!

  • Very well done! I can't tell you how many times that has happened to me, BUT I can't say I have ever been in that situation during a test.... Good job of moving on to the next sequence too - I don't think you missed a beat!

Nice horse by the way... movement wise - lol

  • ooohh what'd u win??

  • Nice recovery!

  • I watched this and re-watched this, and found that you reacted very quickly. Well Done!

However, please note, when doing this (Pulling the horse sideways to avoid injury) can lead to a snapped tendon. My friend's Thoroughbred mare had a really bad habit of rearing up, and flipping. My friend done the exact same thing, and the horse slipped, and snapped his tendons. He was put out of work, before he was sold to b a companion pony.

Yes, you done the right thing, but please do it with caution :)

  • @chloecindy99 uhhh under the circumstances i dont think she had time to think about snapped tendons! she did well enough to bring the horse around and keep it from injuring them both!

  • @chloecindy99 no horse, and i repeat NO horse, is worth more than a humans life. She faces snapping her mares tendon and a long recovery, or possibly losing her own life. A person who does not behave cautiously with their own life should not ride horses.

  • Umm..WOW

  • Looked great until whoopsie =) pretty mare

  • You did really good with handling her. I would've fallen...

  • Hehehe, I recognize the test. :P Good job handling her, I hope she doesn't get back into the habit.

  • nice job staying on !! may i use this in my horse bloopers vid ?? :)

  • You did the right thing perfectly :)

  • nice recovery!

  • Christ she did well to stay on! Love how she ever so calmly clambered back up on him and how at 0.51, her horse is like “Wait – where’d you go girl?”

  • well you're amazing:)

  • Beautiful horse and you handled that really well. Too bad she has that habit, she is a very, very pretty mover

  • Was that at WIlliamston??

  • You handled that beautiful and kept such a calm leveled head when she did that. No freaking out. Well done.

  • I like how the people in the background don't rush in to help haha

  • Thats unbelievable how you stayed on ya for you

  • Well handeled :D

You did fantastically well to stay on.

And you just kept going on :)

The horse was very good too though, as she kept her cool when you were getting back into the saddle.

Well done on both of you.

  • Good on you for staying on! Most horses would of freaked if they saw a rider, half off half on their back!

  • smart idea!!!! great job

  • Wow! If that happened me I'm not sure if I would have the guts to continue, well done to you! :D

  • :D Great job.

  • wow you're so calm about it - that was great :)

  • Oh no! Well done!

  • That horse went up with the intent of going over, thank god the rider is so calm and quickly pulled the horse's head round, if she hadn't there is no doubt in my mind that mare would have hit the ground balenced and gone straight back up.

Hats off to you for working through her problems :)

  • great job! you are an amazing rider! i would have gone flying!!!!! i can't believe you stayed on!

  • wow i love how you just carried on like nothing happened :)

  • I love it!! you horse is a brat you stayed on. reset yourself and just carried on. brilliant!

  • Well sat! You also have angered sitting trot. :)

  • my dads horse had done this before. but since he is such a short horse all i had to do was step off lol. and my horse also did this in the show ring but it wasnt as bad as this horse you have here. Good job at staying on!

  • well done this is the best way to avoid your horse from flipping over i use this way to because my horse also sometimes rears up en almost flips over and pulling on one rein is the best way to get her down as quick as possible..and this is for all the people who want to use this also be very carefuly when you do it the wrong way or to late then you and your horse can fall down and may be injured

  • I think you did extremely well, lovely horse (when he behaves!).

  • Very nice riding before and after the 'freakout'. My horse has done stuff like that, but good reaction.

  • Wow :) never dealt with any sort of rear or flipper :P but ive gotten used to the ocasional buck, your an amazing rider :)

  • Wow. That's a tough one. Go you for keeping your cool after you got your situation back in order. Not many riders can say that about themselves.

P.S. Congrats on having a velcro ass!

  • she did the right thing pulling his head inwards so he wouldnt fall back so i don't know why all the rude comments, and she didnt fall off either

  • amazing recovery! very beautiful! most people with these rude comments would have failed.

  • nice recovery!!!!!!!

  • My conclusion after watcing hundreds of horse and riding videos on youtube: Horse girls are such stupid know-it-alls.

  • @Sw0rdFishu I'm not :(

  • @Sw0rdFishu and my conclusion to your comment is that you know nothing about horse backriding, I think mine may be a little bit closer huh?

  • @miltonluver4 Lol another besserwisser. The comments of these kind of videos are always the same, like "you just pull him", "your seat is so bad you can't ride" etc. The rider almost always knows what she/he did wrong, so it's useless to complain here.

Btw I've got over seven years of experience of riding a horse

  • @Sw0rdFishu btw i've got 8

  • @miltonluver4 Does it make a huge difference?

  • @Sw0rdFishu Not really just letting u know i'm not some 7 year old know it all, i actually have expeirience(even if i cant spell)

  • @Sw0rdFishu If u hav 7 years of riding then why would you say horse girl are "such stupid know it alls"?

  • @miltonluver4 Because a lot of horse girls are. Despite me and few others :D

  • @Sw0rdFishu Well I know a lot of horsey people that aren't stupid know it alls.. But in the other hand I do know some.. so I guess I kinda get where ur coming from, but still you shouldn't just stereotype all girl riders.

  • @miltonluver4 Yeah, I used generalizing as a power tool

  • @Sw0rdFishu and i use sarcasm!! (srry about the randomness...I've had alittle to much caffeine 2day...)

  • @miltonluver4 hahaa allright

  • @Sw0rdFishu yeah! hehe this conversation has changed ALOT!

  • the horse was like " YAY FREEDOM- aww shit wtf? she stayed on :("

lol nice riding and im laughing from shock that you stayed on :)

  • it just looks like you were using your hand to balance yourself. not to throw her off balance seeing as how you hung on her mouth as you started slipping off. that just pisses them off. your lucky she didnt get pissed and take off with you handing off the side. good job staying on though

  • @myhunterhorse Did you consider that maybe she thought she was going to fall, had about 0.3 seconds to think about what to do, and she instinctively put out her arm to catch herself? She probably forgot to let go of the rein. Not many humans can think like cats in these sort of situations.

  • wow good job staying on!! i would have been off :)

  • OMG ur such an amazing editor!!! and rider!!!! and u have SOOOOO many subscriders! would u mind making me a promo, i only have like 16 subscribers :(

  • holy cow! you REALLY got it figured out! i'd be on the ground squished in a second!

  • I'm amazed that you stayed on, well done!

  • love the way he stood still like oops sorry mummy.!!!

  • to the people who say you hurt his mouth, you didnt, clearly you just used the method of flexion which is a great tool to have with most problems that a horse does, especially a bolting horse, well done and fuck the haters :)

  • Mare: Those people outside the arena... THEY'RE JUST SO SCARY! lol. You rode through that so well! Kudos!

  • Well done! You handled that beautifully :D

  • Very well handled. Most would have sat and ended up flipping the horse. Your description explaining why you did what you did was great.

  • wow thats amazing. ur horse could have rear flipped and killed you! wat an amazing quick save!!!

  • great job, I probably would have fallen lol, and all the people who say that your hurting his mouth are wrong, my horse trainer says whenevr the horse is freaking out, turn his/her head toward you so they have to turn, well done!!

  • dear diary failed attempt of getting her off

    tomorrow will add extra buck

  • Wow that was well ridden!!

  • Wow way to stick on him. I must say that is a cute little horse!

  • you go girl! screw all of these haters you did the right thing

  • nice save....my guys first show was last weekend...luckily when he spooked he stopped dead in the canter...his prior spook going in he only went about 1.5" off the ground..rearing was stopped before it happened..only cause its not his usual go to move..i dont get the neg comments...u stayed on and with her and pushed her forward after...geeze it was the first show :) and prob a lot better now...

  • Good job correcting her, staying on and contiuning with the test. She is a pretty mover and once you two work out all the kinks, you two will be a lovely pair and tough to beat in the ring!

  • nice save!

  • I find it interesting how those who commented about what you were doing wrong, what your should have done, how you were riding, etc. had the gumption to do so....they missed the part that says FIRST show, also they were not the ones riding your horse nor under that circumstance....I know NOTHING about dressage (rancher, trainer, barrel racer) but I say great job getting her settled down, keeping your composure and continuing your show!!!! Well done!!! beautiful horse!!!

  • really good reaction! and nice riding

  • Good job staying on, getting her back on the ground and mostly, for continuing with your dressage test without getting upset! I have seen a lot of people either freak out emotionally after a horse rears (crying, want to get off) or have a tantrum and whip the horse for being "naughty". Since this horse is being retrained it's really good that you showed her that she can't flip on to you, but also didn't punish her, but instead showed her the correct thing to do, which was to continue on quietly!

  • She's a cute mare. You did an excellent job staying on her..and then to continue after that. KUDOS!

  • im not trying to be mean but your feet were all over the place and you were useing your seat WAY to hard

  • i don't know how you managed to stay on but kudos! Rearing horses are really dnagerous, even one's that more as well as this mare who obviously has talent :)

  • NICE SAVE!!!

  • That would have been terrifying! You handled it very well, though. Good job!

  • I see a horse thsats not emotionally relaxed & being nudged, nudged, nudged nudged nudged with spurs. .The horse has its head vertical but its not soft & giving. Claustraphobic position.

If the horse was prepared more this wouldnt have happened as she would be mentally prepared, not just physically. She shouldnt have been put in that situation .

Good job staying on by the way.

  • That particular maneuver saved me! The little Arab I was riding reared, I pulled her to the side, she STILL flipped, but since I had her off balance, she fell next to me, not ON me!

Btw, you have a lovely dressage seat =]

  • Yee Haw! Nice job staying on!

  • Great ride! I would've done the same thing!

  • oh wow if you hadnt have done that she definatley would flipped. that would have been nasty.

  • Excellently handled and a very classy finish to carry on the test as if nothing had happened. Well done! ^^

  • I really can not believe you stayed on! Awesome riding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice save!

  • ow that looked like it hurt. i hope you were okay.

  • all i can say is GOOD JOB ! you really handles that horse really well. all horses get stage frieght. good job !

  • WELL DONE!

  • NICE RECOVERY

  • I have to say it was very smart of you to bend her head out while you were trying to find your seat back. It looks like it was a preventative measure on your behalf to keep her from reacting again while you were getting back in the saddle. Good job. Some people aren't as fast with reactions to such extreme behaviors. To me, you did what was safest for you at the time. Kind of funny to watch you pick up again.... "where was I?"

  • she's such a pretty mare. Was going so well untill she reared. good job for staying on like that!

  • I own a flipper, and she's done it to me.. In a very heavy roping saddle. I was so lucky she didn't land on me. She'd never tried to flip before, so I just went with it, not thinking that she'd flip. I now know to pull her to the side when that haopens.

A woman went to buy her the other day, and my horse decided to try it on her. Didn't go very well, but no one was hurt.

You're an amazing rider with quick reflexes. Nice job. c:

  • Great riding gal! :D You did what you needed to do to protect the horse and yourself and to the believe blubbering about her pulling, thats alot less painful then a broken horse leg and a killed rider, dont ya think? :)

  • aww she just thought it was time to exit at A! and then, just as you get your balance back the crowd clap and she spooks :o) well done. People who have never ridden a flipper have no idea - keep doing what your doing girl! lovely mare!

  • Amazing. I applaud your quick thinking and ability to shake it off and keep going like it never happened. Your mare is lucky to have such a talented rider.

  • Wow! Quick thinking in the middle of a dangerous situation. It had the right effect and shows the rider has lots of experience.

  • Great job hanging on

  • Oh WELL done! Difficult to stay on and continue after those...and into a canter yet!

  • amazing recovery. You are a true dressage rider, hey you might have blown that movement, but looked like you nailed the next. Great Job

  • All I can say is amazing save and very quick reaction time. c:

  • She didn't do anything wrong except probably the warmup wasn't quite long enough.

  • that was amazing, I'm glad you were intime before she flipped over it saced you and your horse some what could have been nasty injuries. also great job getting back in the saddle!

  • how did u stay on great rider

  • I don't know how you reacted so fast! Good job. Did she ever stop trying to rear/flip? I'd never have the guts to ride a chronic rearer!

  • I think you handled the situation great, you got her off to the side so she wouldnt flip over and you stuck on :) I thinks it amazing you go on to finish the test. I would have been pretty shookin up.

  • You give me courage! I am struggling with fears and you were amazing. thanks!!

  • you handled it great!! Congrats for keeping going!! :)

  • thst was awesome how you stayed up there though!

  • @StormyxWeather What exactly did she do wrong? She prevented a potentially very dangerous situation effectively.

  • Comment removed

  • @StormyxWeather @StormyxWeather It took me a couple of minutes to understand the dept of your comment, in the end i came to a conclusion that your comment is the most idiotic shity comment on youtube.

post some videos of your riding, and then you can start talking.

Kuddos for the amazing rider.. who handled the situation very well!

  • @StormyxWeather This comment is so idiotic, it made me literally laugh out loud. She's an AMAZING rider for reacting the way she did and managing to stay on. Please, go ahead and upload a video of you riding so everyone can judge. And even if you were the worst rider in the world, nobody should wish someone unwell.

  • @StormyxWeather i would like to see you try and stay on if that happened to you ........... youre so rude :(

  • @StormyxWeather

she avoided being crushed, that sounds VERY stupid

the thing that is 'very stupid', is that some people can't seem to read the description

  • @StormyxWeather

    What a moron...

    She is f...awesome...

  • you did awesome, and congrats for continuing on with the ride. That can be the hard part sometimes!

Guess that's one way to check if the girth is tight enough!! :)

  • Well done 4 just caring on and forgeting about it!

  • good job up until the rear. I read the description, and it totally makes sence, I would jhave done that too. great job staying on and I hope the rest of the test worked out well :)

  • I think she handled this fabulously!

  • that was smart to pull the horse off balance!! i say that the horse has (some thing i like to call) "sticky feet" where the horse is acting up and doesn't want to go forward for no reason. :)

  • ok half the people who are commenting rudely would have probably come off that horse or been squished, so WELL done, i was in utter shoch you managed to stay on, your an amazing rider and you clearly know what your doing :) xx

  • FUCKING PROPS TO YOU FOR STAYING ON

  • wow congratulations on staying on and being able to get back into the saddle without falling off !

  • What a great save. I wouldnt of even stayed on the rear :P.

  • Thanks for the information, without the history of flipping it looked foolish; although the movement looked harsh I understand the need for it, . I've seen the damage a horse can do flipping even without a rider. You had an amazing recovery though :)

  • No arguments here. You stayed on the horse and finished the ride. Kudos!

  • great save! nice side move with the hand in the crucial moment- she was good after that

  • Nice work to stay on

  • As a professional rider, I applaud your decision. I also have worked with many "rearers" and your ability to unbalance and keep her feet on the ground was well done. I also applaud you for your decision to stay on. To all you said she caused the rear by stopping the forward motion, you are wrong. The mare decided a while back that she didn't want to collect and the rear was out of frustration.

  • great job staying on! id be on my ass in 2 seconds! :)

  • well done !!

i would have fallen off straight away!!

  • OMG well done for staying on! I've had several of those 'hanging round the neck, leg over saddle' moments when the horse i used to ride used to charge at jumps and duck out at the last minute. I love how after you'll pulled yourself back on you both just carry on like nothing happened "la la la la laaaa"

  • Way to stay on girl.

  • great job staying on and going on with the show! good riding

  • Awsome riding! way to continue on with the test!! Great job!

  • Good job staying on! That takes a lot!

  • nice recovery

  • great job staying on! :)

  • great job !!! and lovely movement on this mare wow ...love her ...u did a great job training her:)

  • Good job of dealing with a tough situation! And...then continuing with your ride! Thumbs up!!

  • I think that you handeled her very well considering that she had been known to flip over. And you did a great job of staying on! Most people would not have known to do what you did and would have risked her flipping. You made a good choice in the millisecond you had to make it. I admire your courage and skills!
