USB plasma ball

Ive got one but usually when I turn in on... theres no lightening, just a ball in the middle and then when I put my hand to it, the most I can get afterwards is 3 :(

These plasma balls are soo cool! if u have one at home try this up, take a fluo-compacte bulb( the light in curve that is using less energy ) and put ur plasma ball at a few mm or make it touch the ball , the light opens!!!!! its so weird, its not working with normal lights :O i think its because of the gaz in the fluo-comapct light but im not surte if someone as the answer of ''why the light opens'' tell me :)
