I know what you mean about the whole votes thing. I had success in one video contest (see Sarahbou & Caribou) because I told everyone about it on the boards where I'm active and asked they spread the word. I think my video was good, but if I hadn't done a lot of publicizing, I don't know that it would have come in as highly as it did. Still, I was able to get a DSLR with the proceeds. :)

Sorry to be so late in replying ... missed the comment somehow. I got into the top ten but wasn't the winner. Much of the contest was about votes so if you had lots of friends you stood a better chance. It did real well though and Procter and Gamble wanted to air it but I couldn't figure out the details for the copyrights on the photo (not mine) so we hit a roadblock there. I still like it though, thanks for the comment.

Looking over all of the videos you have created, I can see that you know how much effort it takes to create one.

Cultural comedy is everywhere. Look at the Beverly Hillbillies, look at a Mad magazine, watch Saturday Night Live, listen to some stand up comics. Better yet, don't take yourself so seriously. If we can't laugh at ourselves, then we are too uptight.

So-called hillbillies are the last people that society feels it can mindlessly bash. It's interesting, too, that the music used in this piece is a folk classic played by accomplished musicians.
