Slightly misleading this... I'm a Christian & I drink sometimes. Jesus came to bring life MORE ABUNDANT. He didn't come to have a mass-following of identical killjoys driving beige Volvos! Switchfoot are a band who make music, they are also Christians and some of their songs reflect this.

I love this song. It can be interpreted in two ways: Foreman or Victor style, and I like to interchange between the two depending on how i feel. Simple chords, but great song. The harmonica adds a really good effect to the song

While this is unfortunate, it is also the same reason switchfoot has a voice to these same youth. That is my hope, that the words will penetrate enough to prevent the loss that those in the ways I'm describing are headed for. Switchfoot is not adding to the problem with their music, they seem to be providing an avenue for some to find deeper meaning and purpose than the next emotion. That's why I love this song. It actually has deeper meaning.
