omg its real men whathappened to all these good looking white men........ now we have ape man on drums and talking about biches and ho's and this is better how...............and homo music
I saw these guys back on their Sport of Kings Tour Phoenix, Arizona. Holy shit, I was blown away. Gil Moore's drum solo was just too cool. The lights went out in the whole Coliseum , then you see these two glow sticks up on stage, then you hear the first kick drum and you see lights circle the kick drum with each beat, then it gets faster and faster. I've been playing guitar in bands for 25 years and when I'm asked what was the best concert I've ever been to, I say Triumph. HA!
@TriumphAlliedForces you guys ROCK!!!!!! now who in the world would dislike this? those 8 people must have played for other bands of lessor rock quality!!!! :-)
@Q17sk8 Gil's tendency to overplay always annoyed me a little (good example is Stages Live album), but still a very good drummer. He does nail this song though.
i remember in the late 70's, i was watching TV and this commerical came on promoting this 3 piece band call triumph, showing a live gig with all these lights flashing and they where coming to cleveland for a concert. so, a friend and i decided to go and check them out, never heard of this canadian before. well, one hell of a concert, they just kicked ass totally!! been hooked ever since!!! this song is one of my fav's from them. they ROCK!!!!!
No Rush No Triumph... that why I'll never set foot in the Rock 'n Roll HOF and Cleveland is 2 hours from my front door. Guess I need to get to the Canadian HOF, at least they appreciate kick ass mother f'ing ROCK!!!
Emmet is most likely one of the top 5 guitarists of the 80's era. He really is under appreciated compared to others. However some people haven't even heard of triumph. I think their good as hell
@FreshMuffinz because they had the huge majority of their public in North America... and it's already a giant market... but i don't think they were big beyond oceans... this is the reason why a lot of people don't know them...
If here in Switzerland i ask to 1000 people between 14 and 74 y.o if somebody knows them ...if there's 2 or 3 people who knows Triumph it will be already a miraculous result... but i think i'm even optimistic :-p
Rik was a very under-appreciated guitarist as well in rock history. The man is killer at both and that is rare. Meanwhile.......untalented but VERY appreciated (by the masses of half a brain non-musicians) Bon Jovi is all nestled cozy and tight with his billions. How is this fair? Hail to Rik Emmett and Triumph as we all know the truth!
@The1WhoKnowsTheTruth I agree with you, there are some REAL DOPES that have a ton of money and they do not know and E chord From a D chord and just makes me sick, Rik is a MONSTER on the guitar!!!
@Hounadu I did see it live. I also had the honor of seeing Rik on his solo tour in a small little pub in Binghamton, NY. It was on his first solo tour after Triumph split. AMAZING.
All time favorite songs. Still holds up today. Makes me wonder why some frontmen (Steve Perry for example) got so famous, while others like this guy who I still don't know his name or face were super talented, but somehow stayed invisible.
