The best submachine gun ever made. Fuck what the CoD crowd say, all H&K weapons are awesome, well designed bits of kit. The MP5 especially. British special forces like the SAS & German GSG-9 use them as well as US special forces. That speaks volumes about how good the MP5 is. HK weapons are fantastic they are just incredibly overpriced.

At the end of the day they are still just stamped receiver guns, very cheap and easy to manufacture, you are just paying for the HK name.

@dfrss MP5 is much more accurate and realibe, you don't need that much power if you're fireing 900 round a minute in close range, you just need good grouping to really take down your target.

A 9mm can do its job, a 45ACP adds power but reduces accuracy increases recoil and really just isn't sutible by most SMG users.

The Vz. 58 only looks like an AK at first glance, and other than the reliability and the fact that they shoot the same cartridge, 7.62x39, they're completely different rifles. The Vz, for starters, is about 1.5 lb lighter than a standard AK. The Vz is striker fired, while the AK is hammer fired. The Vz runs on a short stroke piston, meaning the piston rod and bolt are separate, unconnected pieces.

the first assault rifle was the late WW2 german MP43 aka MP44 aka STG44 of 1943/44 (Hitlers term "STurmGewehr" means assault rifle in english) chambered in 7.92x33mm...

it was/is gas-operated and fires a really big round (a shortened rifle round)
