@momay69You are correct I checked thier website that is what it says. However I was trained in the past at the dealer that some torque will always go to the front. I wonder whats wrong my training or the website?
best bang for buck by far...got my 2010 g37x fully loaded with everything available for 42k.....RIDICULOUSLY FAST AND CHEAP with great luxurious elements. Equally fitted bmws and lexuses would be WAY MORE PRICEY and not as fast.....like i said...BEST BANG FOR BUCK.
Comparing the 5 speed auto older rwd model to the 7 speed new awd model is stupid. Compare the RWD 7 speed (Non S or S, your choice) and you will see that the 0-60 times and 1/4 times are faster on the RWD. I'm sure real world fuel economy is affected to. I'd never get one of these without a manual trans anyway, so AWD is out for me.
Compare this car's launch with their test of the 07 G35 sedan. The x is beastly off the line. No wheelspin, no nonsense, it just grips and goes. They need to give the xS the true sport package breaks (14-inch rotors and R-spec pads) and sport suspension. And an xS coupe would be nice- it's stupid that you can only buy an xS sedan.
@urstruly83 Not necessarily. Just because a car is awd doesn't mean it will handle great in the snow. Sometimes it's more for performance than anything.
@BklynJayL The Infiniti styling cues are followed by nissan not the other way around, although Nissan owns Infiniti the interior is lamed down on its siblings such the maxima. The G sedans interior has been produced since 2007 when the newer generation of the G sedan came out into production, therefore the New 2009 Maxima followed as well trying to incorporate it siblings high quality design such as Infiniti. same goes for lexus and toyota, VW and Audi

I have a g37x sport with the 7 speed auto..the MPG absolutely sucks. The transmission is not good at all. A first gear shift 3,000 rpm and a hyundai truck is ahead of you from a traffic light. No torque whatsoever. Having a 2007 BMW335I to this..no comparison. Based on the engine, the 335I blows it away.
The 335 is a tick better from a drivetrain performance standpoint. It's also at least $10K more expensive. My 335i sedan avgd 23 mixed, my conv avgs 22 mixed...the G37xS about 20 mixed...not much diff.
Performance? The G37Xs handles better in the real world over the 335i. ATTESA is superior over BMW's X drive. 335i's overheat at the track unless you add add'l oil cooler. 335i brakes are inferior.
335 regains it's overall superiority only IF you chip the engine and for its ZF Stepronic.
it's not the transmission.. it's the lack of throttle/engine response due to ecu management... i've owned couple nissan like z33 (auto and stick) g37s.. and they all exhibit such characteristic.. i've tried the piggy-back throttle controller but it didn't do any good either...don't know why but nissan engineers designed it this way...
The ONLY japanese car in its category that compete with the major german cars such as the A4, C Class and 3 series. The Lexus IS fails compared to this G37 and the german rivals
If anyone from Motorweek reads these comments, please, for god's sake start to jazz things up a bit.
Different camera angles, and more exciting test drive would be great.. Also no offense to the guy who sits in the car everytime and shows how the seat is adjusted, but could he wear something more appropriate for TV.
urgh John Davis is getting older and almost loose his voice......
"welcome to motorweek and we're glad to have u with us"..... a consistent opening words that never changed since this program was televised in the 80s......
why do they ruin this car by placing a 7 speed auto as the only transmission. I live in the north east and need a all wheel sports car and a manual. Put a manual and would be a great car
@scm11904 Because people would destroy the drivetrain with redline clutch drops, like the evo and sti guys do. Btw, you don't need awd, you need snow tires. People drove for many decades without awd just fine.
@AngeloR674 Um...I drove a Mustang through a winter with snow tires on and it had more than enough grip to accelerate, stop, and turn with full control. How is awd going to help you, unless you're stuck in a snowdrift? Awd only helps you accelerate faster, which shouldn't be your priority in the snow.
@ambientflier rwd IS THE WORST FOR WINTER DRIVING REGARDLESS IF U HAVE SNOW TIRES OR NOT! AWD DRIVE HELP YOU IN EVERY ASPECT GRIP THE ROAD MORE(DRY CONDITIONS) AND RAINY CONDTIONS SNOW ETC ETC... ITS A NO BRAINER!
@AngeloR674 Um...you sure about that? I've had an 06 Mustang and an 04 Mazda 6 and the Mazda had all season tires and the mustang had winter tires, and the ford was by far a safer drive in the snow. And how does awd help you grip the road more in the dry?? It doesn't.
@ambientflier On flat terrain, RWD with good tires is adequate. Add any kind of incline and you may as well park it. Every winter I see RWD cars parked all over the place because they can't make hills. This winter I had no problem pulling through all kinds of snow in my G37x, which would have left my old FWD Mazda 3 stuck.
To the bewlow posters: none of the below is correct. it is :
a) permanent
b) adjusts the portion whichgores to which axle depedning on driving situation.

@palmerwmd Er wrong. Watch the infiniti website. It only engages when it slips. It is rear wheel drive all the time.
