I think it's only fair that Americans are dying. It's those same people who voted him into office in the first place. The same people who are too busy arguing about whether Peter can poke Paul up the pooper. The same people who don't take the time to write their senators and encourage impeachment for this illegal war. You all are responsible. I did my share and was met with hostility and harassment. You get what you deserve. Fucking scum.
It's not ignorant neo-cons who are dying, though. A large onus should be on the media, the two houses of government, lobby groups etc., as it's their fault that the American public is so aloof to what's going on in the world. They're kept in the dark.
It's big oil and media conglomerates and corporations who wanted this war, and who pushed for a Bush presidency, but it's good kids barely of drinking age from the suburbs who are getting shot at and blown up by Iraqi fighters.

Moyer....the last vestige of the concept of journalistic integrity.
Perhaps you only feel that way because you share Moyers' left-wing ideology. I'm a liberal myself, but I'm certainly not fooled by Moyers' brand of "journalism," which is an embarrassment to anyone who prizes objective reporting. Moyers' output is little more than campaign advertising for liberal politicians. In my journalism class (which Moyers would flunk), we routinely laugh ourselves silly at the likes of Bill Moyers. My students can't believe he still gets away with this silliness.
He's certainly a very intelligent man, no question about it. But his "journalism" is clearly agenda-driven. Like too many in the media, he fits his facts to his theories, and not the other way around. If one agrees with his agenda, one likes him. If not, the manipulation becomes a little easier to discern.
I agree; he is biased. However, his work works well as a commentary/report---"buying the war" barely attacks O'reilly and Fox, the NY Times and CBS are hit the hardest.
I have not seen his impeachment piece, but I can tell it's definitely biased; in fact, it sounds kind of shabby for Moyers, unfortunately. I'll avoid seeing that, even if I agree with it.

Or maybe I'm just angry at watching Americans die in an effort that only turns the world against us.
no, they watch it on tv or read about it in books and magazines. they get the daily show, the view, real time with bill maher and all the books that say how bad america are. don'y be so ignorant. they see what we see which is far left nuts saying that what we do in the world is evil.
I'm not ignorant, thanks. What you are saying is that people outside of America do not come to their own opinions based on their own viewpoints, but rather that they hear criticism from liberal comedians/commentators and infer that America is evil. Sorry, but I don't buy it.
Also, the criticism is that the US government is arrogant, imperialistic, and hypocritical. To reduce the debate to a good/evil thing (on either side) is childish and oversimplifies the real discussion.
who the fuck thinks were hypocritical and arrogant? people think americans are ignorant not our government. don't throw out random points just to sound intelligent because it only makes u sound ignorant and foolish. and tell me how we are hypocrites?
The US supported Saddam's regime for decades before the first gulf war because he opposed Iran. We sold him much of the chemical weapons that he used to practice genocide on the Kurds. The US refused to depose Saddam in the first Gulf War saying that it would create an unwinnable quagmire in the Middle East and that we are not into nation-building. To then say we invaded Iraq to liberate their people is blatantly hypocritical concerning our previous stance.
Also, if we are so interested in building democracy and saving lives, why are we not in Darfur, Sudan? We have a dictator there, too, not to mention genocide and government-backed militia gang raping women in broad daylight.
I don't care about your second statement because I don't feel like getting into a big debate about Africa but on the hypocrite thing. eh, good point. I'm glad to see somebody who can debate intelligently without insulting somebody.
Haflor, you seem to me a little naive. Have you been abroad, do you know other countries have intellectuals and political analysts? Did you know that even before the Iraq war started there were protests of millions of people in all major cities all around the world?
Are insurgencies in Iraq really fighting against the US troops because a TV pundit in their enemies' country found the US to be evil?
What a seldomly narrow-minded and naive idea you have of how the world works.
what a fucking moron u r. u just mis-interpreted what i said u fucking faggot. i never said the insurgents were fighting the US because of TV pundits u retard. i said people around the world get their opinions on america from them and TRUST ME THEY DO. I have been abroad and have talked to many people who don't like america and I can't tell u how many of them reference the movie Farhenheit 9/11 when they say anti-american things.
trust me, the "TV pundits" as you have named them are responsible for most of the american hatred around the world and that's because we live in a world where people are obssessed with celebrities and hollywood. they pay attention to actors more than politicians. don't be so ignorant and think that the whole world is full of politically intelligent people because it's not.
You clearly have not been to other places. That is an amazingly oversimplified view of things. In Chile for example, no one knows any American pundits at all, but they know that the CIA was behind the coup to overthrow Allende. And that is one of the most advanced latin american countries. On the other hand take Nicaragua, one of the poorest, they know the CIA funded the contras but they have no idea who Bill Maher is. Anti-american sentiment in the world is a product of US inteventionism.
we're not talking about events that happened 30 years ago you fucking idiot. we're talking about current issues. read the posts before u start talking u fucking moronic idiot. in today's world people just follow the pundits. and how have i not clearly been to other places when i just named 3 other countries i have been to. ur a fucking idiot. don't enter the debate until u understand wtf we're talking about.
Yeah, you're right, cause backing a coup and imposing a dictator or backing violent guerrillas are very forgetable things....sure. The idea that US pundits have an actual importance in foreign countries is proposterous. Anti-american sentiment is something that is now a cultural custom in many resented countries. People are sistematically thought by their countries education system that the US is responsible for many follies around the world, which rings true in many cases.
Pundits or talking heads are a very american thing and are not known at all around the world , except marginally in other english speaking countries with very few noted exceptions everywhere else. Anti-americanism outlives the trend of pundits on TV. Believe me, the sentiment was there way before any pundits started to say "antiamerican things". The US interference in other countries business had its consequences, what is commonly refered to as blowback.
So in conclusion, maybe you should stop traveling to other countries if all you are left with is the same obscure and distorted view you get from staying at anytown, usa listening to "pundits" who attack "left wing loons" who are "hurting our country" because they say "bad things about it". The negative perception of america is rooted much deeper than that. I hate to break it to you, but Cindy Sheehan or Michael Moore arent responsible for a crock of shit.
well ur fucking wrong u idiot. have u even bit outside ur country before because I have and people around the world hate american because of pundits like michael moore. if u actually read my earlier posts u would have realized that. his movie faranheit 9/11 was seen around the world and that created a huge anti-american feeling. plus there's biased news networks who create anti-american feelings.
Im going to lay out things simply because you seem to have this ridiculous notion that the US has never done anything wrong and that negative sentiment against the country is product of some world-wide misconception perpetrated by a group of marginal "left wing loons" who want to "hurt their own country". That is a fairly accurate description of your conspiracionist analitical principles isn't it? First of all, the US has done a lot of mischief in the world. All countries have.
al queda, u know them (the people who have killed thousands of innocent people around the world) post Michael Moore's movie faranheit 9/11 on their television station in the middle east (which is called Al zawara) as anti-american propaganda. so u can never say micahel moore doesn't help add to the anti american craze because even the terrorists know he does.
First of all, if anything, valuable dissent in the United States has been used to free the administration of any wrong doing. It is a very simple modus operandi. You reject the criticism as being radical and something that is aiding terrorists and imposing american hate all around the world. That is a great method to silence opposing voices, you make an equivalence between the criticism of a country and the criticism of an administration.
Second, opposing voices in the US resonate what has already been said in other places, so valuable criticism like Fahrenheit 9/11 only tell the american people what is already said in radical circles all around the world. Pundits, filmmakers, call them what you like don't germinate these feelings, they reinforce things that were already known.
and who exactly is this dictator that we supported, huh? i bet u couldn't name 5 horrible things america has done in the world before 9/11 becaue i can sure as hell name a lot of horrific things other countries have done for decades. even centuries.
Strong anti-american sentiments are rooted much deeper than in a movie or a talking heads opinion. People around the world resent a historical interference in other countries businesss. Whether it may be the commercial sanctions against Cuba or the imposing of Augusto Pinochet, funding talibans in the early 1980's, overthrowing Musadaq's democratically elected parlament in Iran in 1953. It is quite mediocre and funny in way to think that Michael Moore is a source of terrorism. Please....grow up.
Anti-americanism in its most extreme form (terrorism) comes from things like the above, not anyones opinion but historical facts, american wrong doings, admitted to be true by the CIA (e.g. project FUBELT or Operation Ajax.) In conclusion you should brush up on US foreign policy, its consequences, and try to read it critically. Maybe then you will understand that things stem much further than republicans blaming dems or vice versa.
You would probably then understand that the world has a history, and that things, even irrational, stupid things like terrorism have a reason and that there is a much broader view of things than what FOX news has to offer. Maybe if you would stop watching fox, every other word that you would write would not be some gibberish like "fuk u" or some other pathetic childish form of insult which really only is derogatory to yourself.
okay, first of all fuck u. lol. second of all u have put words in my mouth just like u have put artificial facts in your head. i NEVER ONCE said the anti-american rhetoric is aiding terrorists so stop saying i did. nevet I NEVER ONCE said America has never done anything wrong. THOSE ARE TWO HUGE LIES YOU JUST MADE UP. And you clearly don't even undersand polictics because it has been shown in a film called "Farahype 9/11" that there are over 60 MAJOR lies in the movie Faranheit 9/11.
You said "al queda, u know them post Michael Moore's movie faranheit 9/11 on their television station in the middle east". What is the implication here? Al Qaeda watches Moores movie for giggles?? Or what? Its a very simple stretch of logic, you clearly imply some connection between terrorism and what you senselessly refer to as "anti american propaganda". You're making this to easy.
now ur making assumptions rather than solid acknowledgements. ur making up stuff and putting words in my mouth. You say I'm 15 years-old when I'm not. I've been abroad and u haven't so u cleary don't know anything on foreign opinions of america. only ur own. You don't agree with Bill O'reilly so you call him a fag. Way to be diplomatic. I am no longer wasting any of my time with ur biased, naive, un-intelligent mind-set.
That movie is almost completely false so if you want to believe lies go on ahead because I can show you what those 60 lies are. Next the sanctions of Cuba and the giving of weapons to the current afghan government in the 80's (which later turned out to be the taliban) was all major events in the Cold War. America did those things to destroy the Soviet Union on communism.
Don't confuse the principles or the rationale of embargoing Cuba or supporting the Taliban in the 80s with its consequences. They are two very different things. It doesn't matter if the US believed what it was doing was right, other people didn't share their point of view and it created a huge resentment, even if in the long run it did any good, people and radical groups fed upon US interventionism to hate the country.
Cuba supported The Soviet Union and The Soviet Union tried to invade and take over Afghanistan. That's why we did those things so if you want to say they were wrong then I guess you support communism too then. Don't just start spewing out random historical events that America was apart of if you don't even understand them. It just makes you look incredibly stupid.
Again, doesn't matter if the US believed it was doing something right. Perception of historical events is not dictatated globally by the victorious country. Come on, that is something you should know by now, given the Irak war. Great! you managed to call me a communist in record time. You're beginning to sound like the Mccarthiesque fag O'reilly.
and the idea that the whole world is intelligent and understands America's politics is just plain naive and stupid. Your a ver ignorant person who is blind to the easily corrupted people around the world. I have seen and witnessed things frist-hand around the world that are anti-american and it's because of the pundits. trust me.
Who named the world intelligent and versed on US politics? All I've said is that US foreign policy is the reason the US has inspired hatred around the world, regardless of what was the initial intent. Not until you grasp that simple concept, you will stop seeing things obscurely like you continue to do. Next time you go to another country you should hang out with more articulate people and not the 15 year old crowd.
O'Reilly should take a look on youtube once and see what tubers think about his very balanced reports. To attack Moyers in such manner is cheap, why wasn't Billo himself asking Moyers this question? Moyers does far better reporting than anyone else in the US, he's the balance himself!
O'Reilly and his ilk are not worth the time of day and it amazes me that he/they have an audience at all. It speaks ill of our American mentality that such rubbish is even tolerated on national tv. Thank goodness for wise and intelligent journalists such as Bill Moyers.
O'Really's a bona fide pervert who coughed up several million dollars to his former female producer in 2004 to get her to drop her 'sexual harassment suit' against him for unwanted OBSCENE PHONE CALLS he made to her and she recorded. Cool guy huh?
There is no such thing as "winning" in Iraq, we have our army there but we are not fighting a army of any sort, this is a gorilla war, we are fighting "terror" which is a tactic,... the battle ground happens to be Iraq because we went there to protect oil and the interests of the elite corporations.
confront o'reilly about what? he can defend himself on anything he doesnt have completely one sided hogwash on his show like moyers. nice work with the name calling aswell
Maybe confronting him about being completely hypocritcal in his KOs bashing, when he has been a hate-filled monger for the last few years. For misrepresenting the entire community by cherry-picking a few marginal comments out of millions(literally). Someone should also confront him about constantly making moral equivalences between dissent and treason. For consistently blurring the line between anti-americanism and a critical posture towards the Bush administration. For so, so much.

I don't care about your second statement because I don't feel like getting into a big debate about Africa but on the hypocrite thing. eh, good point. I'm glad to see somebody who can debate intelligently without insulting somebody.
Haflor 4 years ago
Haflor, you seem to me a little naive. Have you been abroad, do you know other countries have intellectuals and political analysts? Did you know that even before the Iraq war started there were protests of millions of people in all major cities all around the world?
Are insurgencies in Iraq really fighting against the US troops because a TV pundit in their enemies' country found the US to be evil?
What a seldomly narrow-minded and naive idea you have of how the world works.
wagnerfrederic 4 years ago
what a fucking moron u r. u just mis-interpreted what i said u fucking faggot. i never said the insurgents were fighting the US because of TV pundits u retard. i said people around the world get their opinions on america from them and TRUST ME THEY DO. I have been abroad and have talked to many people who don't like america and I can't tell u how many of them reference the movie Farhenheit 9/11 when they say anti-american things.
Haflor 4 years ago
trust me, the "TV pundits" as you have named them are responsible for most of the american hatred around the world and that's because we live in a world where people are obssessed with celebrities and hollywood. they pay attention to actors more than politicians. don't be so ignorant and think that the whole world is full of politically intelligent people because it's not.
Haflor 4 years ago
You clearly have not been to other places. That is an amazingly oversimplified view of things. In Chile for example, no one knows any American pundits at all, but they know that the CIA was behind the coup to overthrow Allende. And that is one of the most advanced latin american countries. On the other hand take Nicaragua, one of the poorest, they know the CIA funded the contras but they have no idea who Bill Maher is. Anti-american sentiment in the world is a product of US inteventionism.
wongkar 4 years ago
we're not talking about events that happened 30 years ago you fucking idiot. we're talking about current issues. read the posts before u start talking u fucking moronic idiot. in today's world people just follow the pundits. and how have i not clearly been to other places when i just named 3 other countries i have been to. ur a fucking idiot. don't enter the debate until u understand wtf we're talking about.
Haflor 4 years ago
Yeah, you're right, cause backing a coup and imposing a dictator or backing violent guerrillas are very forgetable things....sure. The idea that US pundits have an actual importance in foreign countries is proposterous. Anti-american sentiment is something that is now a cultural custom in many resented countries. People are sistematically thought by their countries education system that the US is responsible for many follies around the world, which rings true in many cases.
wongkar 4 years ago
Pundits or talking heads are a very american thing and are not known at all around the world , except marginally in other english speaking countries with very few noted exceptions everywhere else. Anti-americanism outlives the trend of pundits on TV. Believe me, the sentiment was there way before any pundits started to say "antiamerican things". The US interference in other countries business had its consequences, what is commonly refered to as blowback.
wongkar 4 years ago
So in conclusion, maybe you should stop traveling to other countries if all you are left with is the same obscure and distorted view you get from staying at anytown, usa listening to "pundits" who attack "left wing loons" who are "hurting our country" because they say "bad things about it". The negative perception of america is rooted much deeper than that. I hate to break it to you, but Cindy Sheehan or Michael Moore arent responsible for a crock of shit.
wongkar 4 years ago
well ur fucking wrong u idiot. have u even bit outside ur country before because I have and people around the world hate american because of pundits like michael moore. if u actually read my earlier posts u would have realized that. his movie faranheit 9/11 was seen around the world and that created a huge anti-american feeling. plus there's biased news networks who create anti-american feelings.
Haflor 4 years ago
Im going to lay out things simply because you seem to have this ridiculous notion that the US has never done anything wrong and that negative sentiment against the country is product of some world-wide misconception perpetrated by a group of marginal "left wing loons" who want to "hurt their own country". That is a fairly accurate description of your conspiracionist analitical principles isn't it? First of all, the US has done a lot of mischief in the world. All countries have.
wongkar 4 years ago
al queda, u know them (the people who have killed thousands of innocent people around the world) post Michael Moore's movie faranheit 9/11 on their television station in the middle east (which is called Al zawara) as anti-american propaganda. so u can never say micahel moore doesn't help add to the anti american craze because even the terrorists know he does.
Haflor 4 years ago
First of all, if anything, valuable dissent in the United States has been used to free the administration of any wrong doing. It is a very simple modus operandi. You reject the criticism as being radical and something that is aiding terrorists and imposing american hate all around the world. That is a great method to silence opposing voices, you make an equivalence between the criticism of a country and the criticism of an administration.
wongkar 4 years ago
Second, opposing voices in the US resonate what has already been said in other places, so valuable criticism like Fahrenheit 9/11 only tell the american people what is already said in radical circles all around the world. Pundits, filmmakers, call them what you like don't germinate these feelings, they reinforce things that were already known.
wongkar 4 years ago
and who exactly is this dictator that we supported, huh? i bet u couldn't name 5 horrible things america has done in the world before 9/11 becaue i can sure as hell name a lot of horrific things other countries have done for decades. even centuries.
Haflor 4 years ago
Strong anti-american sentiments are rooted much deeper than in a movie or a talking heads opinion. People around the world resent a historical interference in other countries businesss. Whether it may be the commercial sanctions against Cuba or the imposing of Augusto Pinochet, funding talibans in the early 1980's, overthrowing Musadaq's democratically elected parlament in Iran in 1953. It is quite mediocre and funny in way to think that Michael Moore is a source of terrorism. Please....grow up.
wongkar 4 years ago
Anti-americanism in its most extreme form (terrorism) comes from things like the above, not anyones opinion but historical facts, american wrong doings, admitted to be true by the CIA (e.g. project FUBELT or Operation Ajax.) In conclusion you should brush up on US foreign policy, its consequences, and try to read it critically. Maybe then you will understand that things stem much further than republicans blaming dems or vice versa.
wongkar 4 years ago
You would probably then understand that the world has a history, and that things, even irrational, stupid things like terrorism have a reason and that there is a much broader view of things than what FOX news has to offer. Maybe if you would stop watching fox, every other word that you would write would not be some gibberish like "fuk u" or some other pathetic childish form of insult which really only is derogatory to yourself.
wongkar 4 years ago
okay, first of all fuck u. lol. second of all u have put words in my mouth just like u have put artificial facts in your head. i NEVER ONCE said the anti-american rhetoric is aiding terrorists so stop saying i did. nevet I NEVER ONCE said America has never done anything wrong. THOSE ARE TWO HUGE LIES YOU JUST MADE UP. And you clearly don't even undersand polictics because it has been shown in a film called "Farahype 9/11" that there are over 60 MAJOR lies in the movie Faranheit 9/11.
Haflor 4 years ago
You said "al queda, u know them post Michael Moore's movie faranheit 9/11 on their television station in the middle east". What is the implication here? Al Qaeda watches Moores movie for giggles?? Or what? Its a very simple stretch of logic, you clearly imply some connection between terrorism and what you senselessly refer to as "anti american propaganda". You're making this to easy.
wongkar 4 years ago
now ur making assumptions rather than solid acknowledgements. ur making up stuff and putting words in my mouth.
Haflor 4 years ago
haha! Great reply! What a level of discourse and involuntary humour! Catch you later!
wongkar 4 years ago
That movie is almost completely false so if you want to believe lies go on ahead because I can show you what those 60 lies are. Next the sanctions of Cuba and the giving of weapons to the current afghan government in the 80's (which later turned out to be the taliban) was all major events in the Cold War. America did those things to destroy the Soviet Union on communism.
Haflor 4 years ago
Don't confuse the principles or the rationale of embargoing Cuba or supporting the Taliban in the 80s with its consequences. They are two very different things. It doesn't matter if the US believed what it was doing was right, other people didn't share their point of view and it created a huge resentment, even if in the long run it did any good, people and radical groups fed upon US interventionism to hate the country.
wongkar 4 years ago
Cuba supported The Soviet Union and The Soviet Union tried to invade and take over Afghanistan. That's why we did those things so if you want to say they were wrong then I guess you support communism too then. Don't just start spewing out random historical events that America was apart of if you don't even understand them. It just makes you look incredibly stupid.
Haflor 4 years ago
Again, doesn't matter if the US believed it was doing something right. Perception of historical events is not dictatated globally by the victorious country. Come on, that is something you should know by now, given the Irak war. Great! you managed to call me a communist in record time. You're beginning to sound like the Mccarthiesque fag O'reilly.
wongkar 4 years ago
and the idea that the whole world is intelligent and understands America's politics is just plain naive and stupid. Your a ver ignorant person who is blind to the easily corrupted people around the world. I have seen and witnessed things frist-hand around the world that are anti-american and it's because of the pundits. trust me.
Haflor 4 years ago
Who named the world intelligent and versed on US politics? All I've said is that US foreign policy is the reason the US has inspired hatred around the world, regardless of what was the initial intent. Not until you grasp that simple concept, you will stop seeing things obscurely like you continue to do. Next time you go to another country you should hang out with more articulate people and not the 15 year old crowd.
wongkar 4 years ago
So you should now probably go read, cause you have made it abundantly clear that,
a) you confuse premises with consequences
b) you rather see the worlds hate as product of poignant critique instead of historical events.
c) you make humorous offhand remarks instead of analyzing things profoundly.
Please leave your paternal influence somewhere else and start thinking for yourself.

O'Reilly should take a look on youtube once and see what tubers think about his very balanced reports. To attack Moyers in such manner is cheap, why wasn't Billo himself asking Moyers this question? Moyers does far better reporting than anyone else in the US, he's the balance himself!
stevebobzh 4 years ago
O'Reilly and his ilk are not worth the time of day and it amazes me that he/they have an audience at all. It speaks ill of our American mentality that such rubbish is even tolerated on national tv. Thank goodness for wise and intelligent journalists such as Bill Moyers.

O'Reilly is sick...
Ambushing Moyers while he's trying to catch a cab to go to work? That's not journalism.
But then, I guess O'Reilly is not really a journalist anyway.

O'Reilly is a dumb fuck who will never reach the level of intellect that Moyers has long ago achieved.

O'silly is a complete waste as a human being. How can people still watch this pig? One word describes him: Falafel!

O'reilley is a pig.
Factor Producer Jesse Waters is a chronic mastubator. poor kid.
Someone should confront O'Reilly the same way. He's an ass, but i know plenty of people who would.
Justin9Noble 4 years ago
confront o'reilly about what? he can defend himself on anything he doesnt have completely one sided hogwash on his show like moyers. nice work with the name calling aswell
Huckit 4 years ago
Maybe confronting him about being completely hypocritcal in his KOs bashing, when he has been a hate-filled monger for the last few years. For misrepresenting the entire community by cherry-picking a few marginal comments out of millions(literally). Someone should also confront him about constantly making moral equivalences between dissent and treason. For consistently blurring the line between anti-americanism and a critical posture towards the Bush administration. For so, so much.
