Liu Yan is a beautiful girl and dancer! Her tragedy makes me sad about all her dedication and technique will be hindered, but hopefully she can rise above it all!:) I'm not a real ballet dancer so I don't know much about the community of ballerinas and its well known figures, but I can tell she would be applauded anywhere. Gawd, her technique is so ridiculously on point it intimidated me.

how in the world was she paralyzed? I hope someone can tell me, but for the meantime, do not give up! I once had a friend, a very close friend, who played basketball. After a horrible accident, he was paralyzed all down his right leg. But he didn't give up! He loved basketball so much, that he slowly, began to work out, and push himself, and after about 1 year, he was back on the courts! I just hope you love dancing as much as he loved basketball, and you can perform again...

it truly is a shame that she is paralyzed, but people shouldn't sulk over that fact. Everything happens for a reason, and even if it might seem like something terrible to us, its all part of God's plan for that young lady. At least she got the oppurtunity to dance and was blessed with such an exceptional talent. Although she can no longer express that talent, she's still got many more blessings coming her way. In God's hands, she will definately succeed in whatever else she does!!!!

As a dancer, too, I empathize. A serious injury is the scariest thing in the world for any dancer and I feel a huge amount of pity for her, I can relate. I wish her the best, she IS a great dancer. And I hope she proves everyone wrong and dances again someday.
