you can run as much boost as you can handle on a stock motor in a 1.8 because the rods are forged from the factory. these cars are made for boost. You will most likely break the transmission before you break the motor. i know someone who has run 17 psi on a stock motor and transmission on a 1999 model with 150k miles on it with no problems. i have rode in the car before its pretty sick
I have a 1.8L miata with 10.5:1 wiesco pistons. Would it be safe for me to put a turbo on my motor useing 10psi of boost? If so, what should I set my timing at?
