I'm an atheist supporter of Israel, but that will swiftly end if haredim took the government.

However, to say haredim are a threat to the peace process ignores the fact that Arabs have opposed Jewish presence in Israel long before the settlments. Most settlers bought the land fair and square, and for the PA to say construction on legaly bought land must stop before peace talks start is like saying dirt is worth more than human life. Arabs live in Israel, so why can't Jews live in Palestine?

So ask yourself, can Jews (even Hareidi) live in Gaza (which was Jewish land)? Can Jews live in Um El Fahem (city were 1st attacks on Jews came from during '48 War) or other arab cities? The answer is NO. There cannot be a Palestine for several reasons: A) There never was a Palestinian country/state or nation.

B) They don't want Jews to live there, yet they live w/ Jews fine. Look @ their temporary occupied land vs Jewish one all is trash.

C) Most of all. Will cause more death on both sides.

I fully understand Israeli misgivings about a Palestinian state, but what other options are there? You and I may question how historically genuine Palestinian nationalism is, but that doen't change the fact that two different people require two different states. It may take time, but sooner or later the Arabs will realize Israel will not go away like the Crusaders did and they will abandon irredentism in favor of a seperate state.

A palestinian state/country is history revisionism. There was never such a state, and will never be one - its not practicle n will cause more death on both sides. They don't want one themselves & had the option since the State of Israel was created. Look at Hamas/PLO Charters - they don't want a state. We want a independent Palestinian state, but only when we can be sure they don't just want a staging post for extremist groups like Hamas to attack our country from. It's also the same for the other side, we will have to be much more severe in punishing extremist Jewish groups.

In Israel, lots of Arab-Israelis are now friendly, educated and becoming successful. When enough in the W.Bank are like this, then peace will no problem.
